Erade's latest bendi was working in the Aeries. Normally the yasi was excited to be working with and around the beautiful dire eagles, but so much as been going on this season that it has put a damper on the young girls mind. She was still happy in a way that she was doing one of her favourite bendi though even if it was cleaning up bird poop.
To reach the Aeries, one had to make a long trip up a lot of staircases and hallways. For once Erade left her room early enough so she wouldn't be late and have to rush to get there. However she still kept at a brisk walk just to make sure. The yasi was actually proud of herself for getting up on time, ready and out of her room all by the sixth bell.
As she walked, Erade daydreamed about bonding to a Wind Eagle and what its personality would be like. It would be a fletching who would like exploring just as much as her. The eagle would probably be complete opposite in personality from her being moody and pessimistic all the time but despite that they would find a way to fill in for each others flaws, making them stronger.
Childish and obvious line of thinking none the less but it brought a smile to Erade's face all the same. As long as she could remember and first saw the Wind Eagles, the teen wanted to badly bond with one. Maybe today would be the day?
Erade reached the Aeries and a whole 10 chimes early. That had to be a new record of some kind, or at least a first in the yasi's book. Beaming with pride, she got to work in the first aerie, a nesting one. Last spring two eggs successfully hatched and there was a big celebration. The yasi haven't attended to the mother or her little ones before now so was unsure what to expect.
"Hello, my bendi assignment is to clean and tend to the Aeries." The mother glanced only momentarily in her direction before paying her no mind and continued to preen her feathers. Erade suddenly felt nervous and was unsure why. She had worked in the Aeries multiple times and this was no different just a possible cranky and hormonal mother with nestlings. It could be the fact that the mother just had basically blown her off.
Trying not to let it get to her too much, Erade began to sweep the floor. A dek must have been here a several bells ago because the aerie was already practically clean except the occasional feather here and there and a fresh kill.
The mothers mating pair must have brought it for her. "I cant imagine how far he had to go to get this buck." Erade whispered but her voice still echoed amongst the stone walls.
Hunting has been absolutely horrible this season and Erade would know from first hand experience. She supposed if one could fly long distances they would probably have better success.
Erade grab the buck by its trophy and pulled it closer to the nest so she could scrub the floor next. The yasi had to leave the aerie to get a bucket of water. The water however wasn't fresh even after being boiled. It was still a cloudy murky color with a funny smell to it as it have been this entire season. If she were to drink it, it would have a funny taste to it and if enough consumed the yasi would become sick.
The teen wasn't wholly sure that it was safe to be scrubbing the floor with the water because quickly the space was taking on a faint smell that of the water but what other choice did she have.
