Adara Meadows.......
I think the first thing most learn about her is that she is a little obsessed with a certain color, purple. She has like an addiction to the color; not sure if it is a health risk or not. Often times in market places she will roam back and forth from the stalls doing nothing productive, just awing over every purple thing that catches her eye. She would die to figure out a way to die her hair purple one day or to color her nails such colors.
I don't know where she got it from but Adara often just blurts out whatever is on her mind. She isn't outspoken exactly, it is just that when she has something to say she is not very good at keeping it to herself. When she has a question she just has to ask it. This of course gets her in trouble for saying the wrong things and the wrong time. Though there are times when others simply find her little outbursts amusing. Well, this little lady does have an excellent sense of humor to go with it. She is very sarcastic, but she enjoys knowing she has made others around her laugh. Hearing others find enjoyment in what she is doing makes her happy.
Adara was always a daddy's girl, he took her with him everywhere; and because of her father's profession she was always around a lot of hot sweaty men, and that stunted her sexuality I guess. She viewed them all as her brothers and was just as likely to punch them in the nuts as embrace them in a hug. This of course produced a kind of tomboy out of Adara to the horror of the females around her. Prone to wrestle in the mud with the city boys over learning the finer arts of a lady. Her father tried of course. The city women would scold him on his heathen daughter and he would try to reign the savage Adara in and send her off with the little girls to play dolls; but it never lasted long. The city girls were terrified of her and Adara was bored of them. So off with the dresses and into the mud with this one. Her love of tattoos came in somewhere when she was tumbling with the boys. I think it was a sailor lad showing off his tattoos and that was when she fell in love with the art.
She is still a girl though! It took longer then most girls, but there came a time when Adara noticed those menfolk in a different light. She didn't wrestle with them as much, and she stopped letting them touch her. Punches on the shoulder and smacks on the butt were no longer allowed. Even though she was already sixteen around this time, prime marriage age for most girls Adara was just now learning what it meant to be a women and trying to rush in some of those skills with that. Let's see if this little boy every becomes a lady.
Character HistoryAdara's father was a common street boxer, well known by the common folk in his day by the name of Hayden. He was traveling to another city for a good tournament when his group happened upon a Chaktawe in the Kalanue territory. Hungry and tired the men haggled with the people for some of their wild goat meat and a nights safe rest with them. Adara's mother was a beautiful young maiden with many suitors, it was about time that she picked a man to be her husband and of course her beauty caught the eye of the human. Well Hayden could not help but show off so he held a boxing match with the men accompanying him eventually incorporating some of the young Chaktawe who were curious. And this of course attracted the attention of the young women. Adara's mother watched with growing interest as Hayden threw punches and defeated many of the men thrown into the circle with him. She was young and rash, falling for the seemingly foreign and powerful man. So being disowned by her people she left with the men for the human city of Syliras, to be with her thought unstoppable man. Of course, the city looks nothing but glittering to one in tents. It was not long before Adara's mother realized her folly. She had married some common street boxer who was no more unstoppable then any other man with a few tricks up his sleeves. With her dreams smashed she started to deteriorate from a broken heart. Hayden still loved her though, devoting everything he had in her heart. She died in child-bed leaving the now broke and broken Hayden with a screaming dark-haired daughter.
Her father loved her then words could describe. He wanted to dote on her just as he did her mother, but money and status would not allow it. Broken from the lose of his love Hayden started to lose more and more of his boxing matches, the only source for income for him and his young savage. He turned to training other ambitious young men, bringing his precious daughter along and this was where Adara learned some of the sport herself. Not a fitting for a young girl, but father could not deny what little he had to offer.
Being the only women and having a father that sometimes came home bloody and ragged some skills of a women came to her instinctively. She had to cook meals for her and her father, else they probably would have starved, for even though Hayden could box he could not cook. She learned a little about medicine, bandaging her father's and sometimes other boys bloody bruises and scrapes, even fighting off an infection that set in. Some of the city ladies were able to teach her the very basics of sewing through many ugly glares; she can now patch a hole in their very tattered clothes. It was as she got older that Adara learned that her body was attractive to men and she is still just learning how to unlock that and other secrets of a women she never knew she had.
