Eada stepped onto the towel and peeled off her coat, leaving it on the towel so the water didn't completely ruin Nilika's floor. Her reply caught Eada off guard and she pressed a palm to her stomach. She swallowed back the lump in her throat.
"What makes you think that?" She asked.
But she supposed she was sad. She didn't sit around crying all day or moping about (although, wasn't that what she was doing at the well?), but there was that ache inside her. She missed her parents, missed her home - my old home, she reminded herself. She blinked back the water in her eyes and shook her head slightly. She was fine.
