While waiting for The Ghost King by R.A. Salvatore, I've gone back to what I used to read when I was younger: The Borribles Trilogy by Michael de Larrabeiti. Borribles are "kids who grew up with a bad start". They live outside normal society, stealing whatever they need to survive. They're like Peter Pan - they don't get old as long as they're Borribles. They have sharp ears, but once their ears get clipped, they become normal children again and grow up into adults. So they never want to be caught.
It's nothing special now, but I remember back when I was a kid I found the idea so novel. I was kind of a naughty kid (okay, I was a VERY naughty kid ) and I thought back then I might turn into a Borrible because of that!
