Who: Iosha

After the earthquake rocked the city of Lhavit last night, Iosha noticed to herself that she was wholly unprepared for dealing with emergency situations if she wasn't around or close to a medical facility to get supplies. Waking up from in her lonely apartment in the Solar Wind Apartment complex, Iosha looked around at her room and noticed how empty it seemed since she barely unpacked from arriving in the city fifty days ago. She wished that she could just find a permanent place to rest her head, but she needed to find her daughter N'osha first before she could call a city her home. Getting out off bed, Iosha walked over to water basin and poured some fresh water into the metal bowl. The konti picked up her wash rag, dipped it in the water, and started wiping off her face with the rag. When her face was finally clean, the konti picked up her wooden brush and started brushing out the severe case of bed head from her hair. When Iosha was finished combing her hair, she put on her white cotton blouse and pants before strapping on her longsword scabbard at her waist. She knew the city of Lhavit was relatively safe, but she wasn't going to take chances especially after a major natural disaster.

Before Iosha left her apartment, the healer wrapped her cotton cloak around her shoulders and walked out the door. Immediately, the konti was taken back by the devastation brought to the beautiful city of Lhavit. When she first got to the city, she was amazed at how the city seemed to shimmer in it own light, but now the city seemed to be covered in a fine dust from all the fallen debris that littered the streets of the city after the earthquake. Even the air around her seemed to be thick with dust particles from the day before, so she had to cover her mouth as she walked down the streets. As she walked, she could hear the discontent on the voices of passersby about the condition of their city as she passed them on the street. A few of them seemed to be blaming Dawn and Dusk Towers for there current situation, but she had to wonder if the towers were really to blame, or if it was just easier to blame the people in charge for their own personal problems. Eventually, Iosha got to the Azure Market, and she could tell the merchants of the city were still trying to keep the economy going even if the city was crumbling around them. Iosha could see the Shinya were on heavy patrol through the city's market, but the looks the populace were giving them were unnerving to the konti because they mostly looked at the protectors of city with frustration and disdain.

Putting up her hood to not attract attention to herself, Iosha made her way to a store selling religious supplies. She was hoping to find a Healer's Kit and Field Healer's Kit, so she could have her own medical supplies just in case. She needed to treat herself or someone else at any given moment. Opening the blue door, she saw a young woman with blond hair in her early twenties sitting behind a counter. The konti walked up to her who seemed to be busy counting her till. Iosha noticed the religious supply shop seemed to be making quite a killing the day after a the earthquake. For a moment, Iosha thought about it and realized that most people would seek refuge in there faith after a disaster like this one. Pulling down her hood, Iosha said with a warm smile, “Hello, I am a healer of Rak'Keli, and I am looking to buy some supplies.” The blond woman looked up from her till and asked with smile, “I am surprised that you haven't started your day at the Catholicon?” Iosha said with a slight frown, “I am on the night shift. After I get my supplies, I am will be heading there.” The blond clerk nodded and asked with another smile, “What do you need, Healer?” Iosha looked at the items on her shelves for a moment and started to list what she needed for her personal use, “I would like to buy one healer kit, one field healer's kit, and Surgeon's Toolkit.” Iosha knew that she most likely wouldn't be doing major surgury in the field, but it was better to be over prepared than under prepared for any situation. The blond woman said simply, “The total will be three hundred and five gold kina, healer.” Iosha was prepared to spend that much money, so she started counting the money needed for her supplies.

When the clerk handed Iosha her purchase, the konti tucked them safely into her backpack. Suddenly, the healer heard the sounds of yelling and windows breaking from outside. Both Iosha and clerk gave each other a look of confusion, and the blond haired woman walked from behind the counter and said softly, “Why don't you wait here a moment, Healer. I want to see what is happening before I let you outside my shop.” Iosha bit her lip and said with a nod,
“Thank you for your concern.” When the store keep opened the door, it took her two ticks to access the situation, and she immediately slammed the door and locked the sliding bolt. With her back to the door, she looked at Iosha and said with a fear in her voice. “I am not sure what is happening, but people are smashing windows and throwing rocks at the Shinya...” When she heard the sound of the violence get closer, Iosha eyes went wide and said with a hint a urgency, “I know you are concerned for my safety, and I am grateful, but if violence is erupting outside, a healer should be out there to tend the wounded!” The shop keeper said plainly, “I saw a young man pull a sword out on a Shinya, Konti. I think madness as taken over everyone in this chaos.” Iosha pressed her lips together in frustration and said stubbornly, “I can take care of myself...” The Shop keep gave her a look and said flatly, “Your place is to stay safe, healer, so you can tend to the injured when the violence dies down.”

Suddenly, both of them heard loud pounding on the door followed by a young woman's voice pleading for help, “Please let me in! There killing each other out here!” Iosha glared at the shop keep in frustration and asked in almost a whisper, “Are you going to let her inside?” The pounding continued for a couple chimes, but the shop keep had her back on the door of her shop and said plainly, “No, I don't know if she is one of the looters or rioters. I am not taking a chance of letting into my store and letting livelihood go up in smoke or looters taking my wears.” Iosha narrowed her eyes and said in anger, “Or she could be a innocent bystander looking for a place of refuge, you won't know unless you open the door.” Suddenly, they both heard something strike the door and the young woman voice yelled at the two people safely inside, “I can hear both of your voices, so don't act like your not there!” Iosha wasn't a a violent woman, but she was close to punching the store keep in the face for her callousness. The konti pleaded softly, “It would take you two ticks to open the door for her if she is a looter. We can both deal with her accordingly.” The Shop Keep closed her eyes and said defeated, “Fine, but it's your head if she starts robbing me blind.” Letting out a deep breath, Iosha smiled at the human woman and said softly, “You are doing a good thing here.” The Shop keep ignored the konti, got ready to open the door, and said sharply, “If you are going to save the girl, do it quick!”

Grabbing her backpack, Iosha walked to the door, but before she could turn the knob. She heard the young woman cry out, “Fine, you heartless bitch! I hope you get what coming to you.” Hearing the sound of footsteps walking away, Iosha opened the door and looked outside. The whole market place was awash in with people either trying to get away from the violence and looting or people fighting in the middle of street. Iosha saw no Shinya in sight in the mob of rioters to her right. The konti saw the young woman, and the konti noticed the girl must not be older than sixteen. Iosha yelled to the teenager, “Come here. It is safe!” The young woman turned around with a large smile on her face, but the smile was abrupt with the sound of twang of either of a bow or a crossbow firing from the crowd. The girl looked down and saw a crossbow bolt in her chest by her heart. The konti wasn't sure if the girl was either targeted or if it was just a errant bolt, but the healer rushed outside the door and caught the teenage girl as she fell to her knees. Wrapping her arm around the small of her back and wrapping her arm around her shoulder, Iosha used her legs to lift the teenager to her feet and said to her with a smile, “You will be alright. I am a healer of Rak'Keli.” Slowly carrying her to the door, Iosha heard people yelling as one of the shops were set on fire. Iosha eyes widened when one of the Shinya were hanging from a balcony of a store with a noose around his neck. Iosha muttered to herself and said in Kontinese, “What is behind such evil?” The konti knew that evil existed in all hearts of mortals even if they tried to deny it. They can never escape the duel nature of people's souls.

When she made it to the door, she laid a hand and turned the metal knob. As she turned and pushed on the door, she noticed the door was locked from the inside. A flurry of emotions went through the konti all at once, and she knew in the pit of her stomach that the store keep locked her out. She was on her own with a dying girl on her shoulder. Iosha kicked the door and yelled at the coward inside, “I hope you have no problem sleeping tonight because you might have killed two people!” Iosha's only answer was silence from inside the shop, and she heard a explosion and cheering erupt when another shop was set a blaze. Turning her back on the coward inside, Iosha slowly carried the girl into the crowd of fleeing people. About five chimes down the street, she heard another explosion and cheering as the mob set fire to the blond haired shop keep's store.
