The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Ardan

Ardan noticed Engghaen with her nose buried into his cloak. It was strange behavior, especially for a Kelvic. Of course, he had not met many others. His own ways were almost alien to him at times. Human females seemed to find his feline scent alluring, but no Kelvic had ever seemed to care.

Damn, did I get something on my cloak? he thought.

She seemed to be examining him, probably wondering what his other form was. He wanted to tell her, but still needed the element of surprise in case Kaim attacked. She was a cat, she could understand him if he were to speak as one.

He purred lightly, communicating in a way that only felines or feline Kelvic could understand.

"Enjoying the cloak?" he asked in his Kelvic tongue. He kept his eyes locked on Kaim, waiting for him to strike. A guard who let a criminal go free was not to be trusted.

She turned her head back to Ardan, surprised. So it was true, he was a feline! Engghaen miauwed back.

"It smells nice... You smell nice."

She pulled her nose back up out of the cloak. Yes, it did smell nice. She wasn't worried about Kaim, differently from Ardan. He wasn't that much of a problem, in her opinion. He had done her a favor, because a while ago, Ardan might have done something to her.

She sighed. She should really get a job here. She needed money. But that might come later.

OOC: Maybe something for another thread, Ardan? Or a flashback?

In Front Of The Window

Kaim tilted his head to the side, if he was being dramatic he did not think so. He thought he was freely expressing a perfectly logical reason behind wanting to wear his uniform. Perhaps, the way he had explained himself, but even that he would have bee aware of. He correlated Ardans response with his sudden tense attitude and shook his head a little. It was getting late, the moon had shone brightly right above them and it was already passed midnight rest. He shook his head and furrowed his brow, "My intention was not to come off as Dramatic." He explained himself, raising his voice a little, but found it pointless in the end. He even felt a bit insulted, but he did not give away any emotion. Ardan misunderstood Kaim, and his tense posture gave away a sense of distrust. I am not dramatic! Maybe I can lose my temper a bit but dramatic? This guy sure knows what to say, I'm too tired to deal with this, bed, bed, bed, bed.

Quiet evenings such as these should be enough warning for Kaim to turn back and head for the Monastery. To relieve himself of any tense situation and find rest. Of course, he would have to try to meditate on what had just happened. That, would likely take its time though, he sighed again. He was tired from such a long day, and being a part of the Shinya doesn't mean you get accustomed to the exhaustion that comes with it. Perhaps, with more training or perhaps with more sleep.

Kaim took notice that Engghaen began to move silent beneath the cloak. He heard the exchange of growls between her and Ardan and understood nothing. Breeding season, he reasoned, Now is probably the best time to take my leave and finally get some rest. If he was to do anything there should be enough guards nearby, or perhaps I should tell a guard just in case. No, this man gave up the only weapon he had and laid it on the floor. Most criminals don't just up and confess about who they are whistle throwing away a weapon. Meh, unless he commits a crime within the city walls there is no convicting the man of a crime without proof. That's like if I say I stole a potato, but then you'd have to take my word.

It was a easy decision, without proof or word of a criminal there is no crime. He shrugged his shoulders as he had done several times this evening. He turned his back on Ardan a little, moving his feet toward the direction of the monastery. "I'll leave you two alone," he said, "Just be careful, there are guards that patrol this area in case either of you need anything." He was done with the tension, with the unnecessary situation that had built up due to a lack of interpretation. If Engghaen really did get into trouble with Ardan she could scream, but Kaim did not see him as a threat against this defenseless girl. Still, he waited a moment to see what would occur before he decided to shuffle his feet away.

Engghaen opened her mouth to say something. She had wanted to ask him something. Too late. She sighed. "Kai-" shot out of her mouth. For the first time this evening, she crawled up and stood there. She murmled. "I wanted to ask you something... Or, actually, tell something."

"I know no one here. I'm not in Lhavit for a couple of days. I want to stay here, but I barely know this place. I am a traveler, but I don't like it anymore. I... I hunt and.. Well apart from that I have nothing to really get an income of. You do. I don't know how you managed to. But I... Apparently I can't do this alone. "

Very smooth actions this evening, girl...

Ardan

As Engghaen spoke, Ardan picked up and sheathed his dagger. Once she was done, he stood in silence for several moments. I have thirty years kept if I'm lucky, he thought. I will never allow my bloodline to continue, but that doesn't mean I cannot teach another.

"I will help you, but it will be difficult. I am truly being pursued by a malevolent clan that has destroyed my family. Fortunately, I don't think they know that I'm here. Do you have a home here?"

OOC: Perhaps the beginning of another thread?

OOC: Yes, but just finish this for a moment. Send me a pm and we'll figure something out.

Engghaen's face lit up. "Will you?" She stared at Ardan. This wasn't really what she expected. Sure, she had expected Ardan to have trouble, but...

"Yes, I have a big tent. But it's awful when it rains or when it's cold. And it's way back where my horse is. And my clothes. And my money."

Ardan

"Prooooobably shouldn't leave that type of stuff unattended," said Ardan. He smiled when the young Kelvic's eyes lit up. "Some scumbag like me might show up and take it."

"What say we head off? We should probably change; two Kelvic in animal form might attract less attention than a fully-clothed man and an almost-naked girl."

She grinned. Sure. That she hadn't thought of it yet.

She handed over Ardan's cloak. "Here. It still smells great." The cat stared at him. But I do need to get my stuff. Maybe someone will steal them. Just in case." She hoped Ardan wouldn't stare too much.
Of course he won't, he's a Kelvic!

Ardan

Ardan watched her walk away, hoping that she wouldn't take his gaze the wrong way. He brought the cloak to his nose and sniffed a few times. Hm, smells normal to me.

He fastened the garment and transformed into a large, black panther. His eyes remained their natural green, but he was unrecognizable in almost any way. His clothing had been tailored to fit him as both man and cat. Even his belt and knife remained fastened around his body.

He silently walked down the street after Engghaen. The stars had appeared, and the city was beautiful. He looked around, examining the buildings. The way they shined in the starlight was almost mesmerizing.

Oh, yeah. I'm gonna like it here.

Engghaen looked over her shoulder. It was a rather odd sight, seeing a black panther calmly walk over the streets of Lhavit. It was beautiful. Hypnotising.
After a while, she stopped next to a black-white horse. It was bound with a rope to a pole. Engghaen morphed back, now out of the general sight. She reached behind a corner and grabbed a bundle of stuff. She smiled at the pather. "I just needed to get this."
