[Wildlands]
[Somewhere between Ravok & Nyak]
[Evening]
The evenings within the wilds were always frightening, at least to the young Cross girl. She often acted as if she was the best of the best, like nothing ever scared her and all of her emotions were long gone into the void, hearth frozen and all that was left, was the shell of a porcelain doll. But no, it was different, she was quite the frightful creature, and her curiosity only made it worse. Because when your average dandelion would think about risk, they would avoid it…Amelia would know she will get in trouble, but usually she would be curios enough to even go lucking for them. This evening was no different.
Amelia had taken a carrot that she had earlier cut in three parts, she was hoping to find a rabbit to practice on and wanted to use the vegetable as a bait to lurk the creature in. But in order to avoid distraction, she once again walked deeper and deeper away from the camp she had with her travel companions. And she wasn’t just walking, to avoid any questions, she had been sneaking away with her dark cloak covering her figure, her steps carefully placed on soft soil to avoid any noises. The least thing she wanted was for the kelvic to follow her, or worse, Clyde to lecture her. She just wanted to be alone, to do things on her own and try to be someone without the help of others.
She kept on sneaking around, from one soft patch of ground to the next, being careful not step on dry leaves that might have been early fallers, twigs that might break from her pressure or even on rocks that could give out that annoying, high pitched sound. Once she felt like she was far enough from the camp, the girl found a dry patch of land to sit on.
No jumping ahead of things, she placed the carrot pieces next to her, with a calm breath she made sure her legs were in a comfortable position, she had no interest in losing all feelings in her legs like she did last time. Once her body seemed to have been in a comfortable enough position, legs folded over each other and her back straight, shoulders back and hands free in her lap, her eyes closed. She began breathing in and out, at first she tried emptying the mind of things as silly as day to day questions, by concentrating on the light breeze that was dancing through the leaves, she could hear its melody. Despite Amelia not being much of the wilds type, she loved nature, and found the melody of Rhaus in every little noise made by the trees.
The melody won over all other thoughts in her head, and with that, she began pushing it away with emptiness, with having her mind clear of everything, of being clear for the task, but she couldn’t Because with each time, as she hopped her mind was empty, the question ‘am I thinking about something’ came to her mind, she just couldn’t empty it enough, but it didn’t need to be emptied and she didn’t have the time for it, because she could hear it, the noise of a carrot being nibbled on by a pair of sharp teeth.
