The line was a bit unexpected by someone who had been rather serious about most of their trip. Ellen smiled at the compliment though, laughing a bit and replying with "Oh, don't you start with me. Words such as those are almost enough to make me swoon right here and now" as gave a playful wink his direction. She picked up that it probably was not an actual compliment from the tone she used, but the lady squire wouldn't let the opportunity to go to waste.

When scolded by Bolivar about still being on patrol, Ellen realized they were still doing some form of serious business, even while she walked around the city without a worry. Perhaps it was something to be taken more seriously, this patrol. The thought was dismissed rather quickly as she watched Bolivar checking every place imaginable on their walk. He would take up the serious end, and she would keep them from falling asleep to the ever present enemy of boredom. Vigilance was important during a patrol, and required a healthy portion of both seriousness, and entertainment. Besides, it was far too late for Ellen to allow this to be a boring average patrol with two strangers.

Ellen strolled into the Stone Gardens a bit after her partner, who was already waiting for her arrival. Upon entering, she noticed Bolivar was actually standing around waiting for her, and watched her entry. Another opportunity she couldn't waste. The young lady squire gave an over exaggerated curtsy as she entered the gardens, giggling again at her own silliness. A night like tonight would not happen again for who knows how long, and Ellen was determined to make the most of it. In all seriousness though, she took a few looks around, pacing the garden, being the ever vigilant knight she knew she was supposed to be.

Again being questioned by the other half of her adventuring party, Ellen took a short tick to think about anywhere she had wanted to go. Most of the shops would be closed by now, and there as no reason to head to the mint or tank.

"I'm alright with heading to the docks, but if there is anywhere you'd like to stop on the way there, I'd be happy to tag along and keep you out of trouble." After she was sure they had concluded their business in the gardens, Ellen took the lead on the way to the docks. They had nearly crossed off everywhere on her list. It seemed that it was more centered around the route, since they were able to pass and observe the places on her list while on their way to another destination. Rather convenient planning by her patron after all. As they walked, Ellen reminded herself of how Bolivar was humming and swaying earlier in their walk.

Once they arrived at the docks, Ellen turned to the other squire and said "Well Mr. Bolivar, a wondrous thought has occurred to me" adding a few snickers between some of the words "If you are so confident in your doings, why not sing us a song here and now! I'm sure everyone would love to hear!" While motioning around to their imaginary crowd, the lady squire looked to her half Isur traveling company expectantly. The moon was high now at this point, and gleamed over the Suvan sea, with the sound of small waves colliding with the docks in a sweet ambiance. "Come now, perhaps I'll even dance for you afterwards."

“A song.”

An unconvinced look appeared to answer Ellen's proposition. Bolivar was the type to talk freely about most subjects with others but when it came to singing it was different.

Ask of me to move the winds around us to my will no problem. Though singing...

The subject of Bolivar's doings outside of his magical studies and his line of work was rarely approached. Certainly, the amount of times the mixed blood's singing aptitude was brought up was countable by the fingers in one hand.

“I have not sang for anyone since arriving in Syliras. It is certainly different in a way to what I hear here.”

Pursing up his lips Bolivar covered his mouth with his hand putting up an inquisitive post regarding the other closely. What had he to lose simply sharing what came naturally? Of course the chance to see a lovely blonde dance was a major factor. It was a stupid, secret crush of sorts. It wasn't just Ellen. Bolivar viewed such fair haired women as irresistible. How could he say no to such a smiling face?

“My love who calls out my name. Tell me, what will happen? Whilst I closing my eyes one last time?”

A slow monotonous tone, Bolivar seemed to try to convey a sort of mood. Staring away from the companion squire Bolivar stared out at the gardens. The questions not addressing Ellen but rather a process of thinking aloud, Bolivar waited until Ellen caught on that he was singing before continuing.

“Our time together coming at a close. Now only enveloping shadows. Does Dira merely take my mortal coil and sojourn?”

Giving a bittersweet smile Bolivar gestured Ellen to sway with him. Taking a hand in his own Bolivar led the pair in a slow sway to complement the song. Bolivar was not the morbid sort but the tone and mood was in the vicinity of how he normally approached life.

“They are closing in. This darkness that gives me sweet solace. And all I can think of is our time together.

Misspent days that I hold dear. Will you remember? How our hearts were when I go?”

Giving Ellen a twirl Bolivar released his grip and let her dance freely. The squire smirked awkwardly, apologetic at how his song must have made the mood slightly dour. A inquisitive look around revealed they were indeed patrolling the docks. Earlier Ellen said that she would try to keep him out of trouble. What did that entail? Did he seem the troublemaking sort or perhaps the squire had made an unsavory name for himself.

“Well that was the song I had in mind. Perhaps something more cheerful?”

Bolivar's eyes distracted as Ellen came into view gave a wary half grin before walking a ways at the edge of the pier. The sounds of the harbor. Nothing seemed amiss, a place for one to gather their thoughts. The thought of how he viewed Ellen and vice versa came into light. The squire's wonders was quickly dismissed noticing a pair of sailors huddling, hiding near a large ship. In the shadows of the large barge and using some barrels and crates for cover under the scrutiny of normal eyes. Little did they know that Bolivar had a knack for seeing in the dark though they did not know that.

“Ellen? Now that I've done something for you can you do something for me?”

Gesturing at a ship slightly away from the pair Bolivar turned back to Ellen a little more lighthearted then usual. Moving his hands in a way to entice Ellen closer Bolivar once again took the squire's hand before placing the other slightly above her waist. The movement simply to guage the other's reaction Bolivar releasing her hand to point down a line. Dark, slightly deary but otherwise expected of them to scan.

“Go down there alone for a time. I have something I normally watch for. Besides a great figure of course.”

The tone still mimicking his earlier detached mood Bolivar gave a slight push at Ellen to go. Bolivar would watch the other squire go for a time but otherwise focused on making himself scarce. His hands already going for his weapon Bolivar moved to disappear under the cover of night before moving to confront the shadowy pair from before. The squire had seen this plenty of times before and his experience seemed to point to one thing. Smugglers. Maybe it was something he can handle on his own before Ellen even noticed where he went.

ooc] Sorry about the time before this post. In any case, here's your chance to dance and twirl. :) Feel free to otherwise intervene and give a smidge of what happens when I confront the two or when you join in if you choose that path. A slight detour to the plot but after this I'll leave how the rest of this thread goes/ends to you.

Ellen had never actually danced before, and when Bolivar started up his song, she was actually a bit surprised, not completely expecting the squire to sing for her. She quickly became nervous, because this meant that the young lady would actually have to dance for her partner. It was a slow song, almost sad, and it sounded like the mixed blood was singing about something he had previously lived through. She paid this thought no mind, as she was quickly coaxed into dancing.

It was simple at first, Bolivar guided her through an easy sway that followed the rhythm of the song. Her first time dancing, and it was with another squire. When Ellen imagined herself dancing for the first time, it would be alone, hiding away in her rooms when no one was around, and definitely not with a man. She was here somehow, despite these thoughts, and she was quickly fulfilling her secret desire to dance. By no means good at the activity, Ellen was a bit awkward, not entirely sure when to move her feet, or much else for the matter, but she followed her partners lead, and spun as he held out her hand and then released her.

The young female squire was even more awkward on her own. She kept in mind all that she could from dancing with a partner, trying to keep with the slow rhythm of the song. She wasn't entirely successful in looking as graceful as possible, though it wasn't exactly an easy task. This was her first time, and it was in armor that didn't really allow much freedom in movement. Ellen also had much on her mind at this point, since this was the closest she had gotten to a man in this sense. Ellen often drove off anyone who might have a romantic interest in her with a stern demeanor and strict policy about opening up to others. Something tonight had gotten it's hands on her tonight, and she had been much more free willed. This scared her a bit, since she wasn't sure about being romantically involved with anyone. It might distract her from her training. Perhaps she wasn't even correct about assuming that Bolivar saw anything in her, maybe he was just being friendly. How embarrassing would it be if she tried to pursue something that wasn't there. Ellen was snapped back to reality as Bolivar addressed her, and asked her a a question.

"Yeah, of course Bolivar. What is it?" Ellen stood and approached her partner as she was coaxed closer to the other squire. As she came closer her first hand was grabbed and she accepted this, but when Bolivar put his other hand on Ellen's waist, she jumped a bit. No one had ever been this close to her, she never allowed anyone to touch her at all, other than necessary contact in combat. She was a little bit startled by it, and though she tried to act as though it was nothing, Ellen felt her cheeks burn a bright red.

"Yeah sure. Just yell when you want me to come back." The request was strange, but Ellen was quick to oblige. She needed some time to think, some time to walk and review everything that had just happened. The squire took a casual walking pace and headed over to the area Bolivar had pointed out to her. Looking back over her shoulder, Ellen noticed that her partner had already disappeared. He obviously had something else to deal with, something he must have noticed and needed to take care of. She would just trust her partner, something she had done a few times tonight. Blind trust was usually not a common practice for Ellen, but for some reason she had done it a number of times with Bolivar already. Something about him brought a side of her to light that she never let out. She would definitely look to be spending more time with this squire.

Ellen took up a seat against a wall and enjoyed the cool breeze that bit at her face. She had some serious thinking to do. Though she would still stay alert in case Bolivar called for her. Again the sound of tides rolling up to the docks caught her attention, something she found to be the sweetest of noises. Perhaps she would ask about Laviku on her next trip to the Temple.
