Crystiin Aithne Appearance Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 22 years Birthday: Spring 51, 491 A.V. Birthplace: Syliras Appearance: Crystiin is a pretty young lass with a mane of curly hair the color of fresh soil, with a red hint in the right light. She has a rather pale complexion, her cheeks a rosy pink. She stands at about 5'7" and is pleasantly full figured. Her eyes are a startling crystalline blue, and her smile is contagious. Character Concept Being raised by a single father amongst her two brothers, Crys is strong and sweet at the same time. She was brought up to be her father's image of how a lady should be: able to hold her own and be polite to men at the same time. He taught her manners and courtesy alongside falconry and unarmed combat. Crystiin loves birds and the sea, her city and her family. In contrast, she hates restrictive clothing, bothersome men, and haughty women. Character History Crystiin Aithne was born in Nyka to Jorge Aithne and Morvyn Messer Aithne. She has a brother a year older than her named Chonnar. Three years after Crys was born, another brother was born named Felix. But Morvyn died in childbirth, leaving Jorge with the three small children. Jorge, by trade, is a falconer. He himself owns five different raptors ranging from an eagle to a falcon. Not marrying again, Jorge raised his children the best he could and paid his way with the prey he caught with his birds. Chonnar went on to become a falconer himself, working in and around Syliras. Felix has yet to move out of his father's house, but is looking to become a squire for the Knights. Despite the fact that he knew nothing about raising a girl, Jorge molded his daughter into what he considered was appropriate for a lady. Sure, sometimes she came off a little rough, a little foul-mouthed, but she was polite as all get out and made for pleasant company. Crystiin moved out on her own and made a living being a falconer for a while with one of her father's hawks. However, her father eventually had to take the raptor back to replace one that had died of old age. Crys made the decision to purchase her own bird, ending up with an owl instead of diurnal bird of prey. She named the big gray owl Flannigan, and although she hasn't trained him yet the two are inseparable and have become close friends. This is the mew in which her owl resides. A large cage of about 4 foot by 4 foot for the base and about 5 foot tall, the mew stands on sturdy wooden legs that allow Crystiin ease of access to the door and makes it so that the cage does not tip over whenever the owl gets restless. The base is solid to allow easy cleaning, and the wire door is held shut by a metal latch. This structure was given to Crystiin by her father, who'd raised birds as a hobby as well. Housing Location: Syliras House: Apartment in the Stormhold Citadel, including a bed, a small bedside table, a chest for clothing, a dining table with a chair, a chamberpot, and a fire hearth.

Flannigan Flannigan was purchased from a raptor dealer in Syliras in 510, A.V. He is a large gray owl standing at 2 foot, with a total wingspan of 5 foot. He was bought trained, and is relatively peaceable whenever Crys has to carry him through the city. Mixed with the time he's had to build up an affinity to Crystiin, Flannigan knows how to fetch, hunt, attack, hoot, call, and find Crys should she be outside. The two of them have built up a routine, so if Crys is not waiting for him whenever he shows up at the place they are to meet, he's learned to perch and wait. Flannigan is a fairly happy bird, and he likes Crys a lot. He hasn't attacked anyone that didn't deserve it, and is a calm, almost monk-like figure. He relishes in eating grasshoppers and small birds.
