DESCRIPTION: Being among the most important facilities in Mura, Vision Center is located just south of the Opal Temple complex. It was originally built when the first daughters of Avalis started populating Konti Isle and the settlement called Mura grew into a small town. Soon the Konti needed a place where decisions and rules would be discussed for the greater good of the community. What once was a simple hall made of white wood, was expanded and renovated countless times and by many skilled architects, masons, carvers, painters and other craftswomen. What stands today is a rectangular building resembling the original hall, but with several balconies and jutties at every side. The outer walls are painted in warm pastel hues, the playful decorations in pale pinks, blues and whites. Shells and ivory has been used to ornament the windows that are made of colored glass – a recent commission from Silene Sa'nanathy. When entering the building through a massive portal made of rare blue vian wood, the visitor will find themselves in the original hall used for public meetings and discussions of the mothers and grandmothers circle. On the cold stone floor, several cushions, blankets and chairs have been provided to sit comfortably throughout the whole meeting. At the top stands what looks like a small altar, consisting of three painted stone statues: The All-Seeing Mother, framed by Rak’keli and Laviku – those three represent the triumvirate all Konti look up to. In front of the altar there is a white chair with delicate silver ornaments running over its entire surface. This is the seat of the current Matriarch of Mura, the oldest Konti of the grandmothers circle: V’nessi Ulvalin. Although it is easy to forget when standing in the great hall, several doors lead into side rooms. Those are furnished with a clean desk and a few bookshelves and feature either a balcony or jutty for relaxing purposes. Those little offices are used by the members of the mothers and grandmothers circle. If one needs a room to store their work, important documents and useful books, they are free to claim one of the offices their own. The Konti have an agreement about who uses which office that is documented and overseen by Garola, the organizer of all meetings and disputes. She keeps the list pinned to the front doors up to date and usually works in the first office to the left where visitors can also ask about the whereabouts of specific members of either circle.
