Martial Arts Basic History Character Concept
Ashkore has spent his life traveling, not staying in any one place for too long. However, the Star of Kalea seems to have caught his eye. He is drawn to adventure and opportunities to learn.
He is known to be optimistic, but also wise and a realist. He dislikes people who are constantly positive almost as much as those who are the opposite. He doesn't believe in any extremes. Dark, light, black, white, justice, injustice, peace, and war. He doesn't think that any of these really exist.
"War is a lie. They are unjustifiable massacres in which hundreds of people die, the losses almost always outweighing the gains. Take the Valterrian and its precursors for example."
"Peace is also nonexistent. There is always conflict, death, and horror of the most unimaginable sort. How can any sane creature believe that any time is one of peace?"
"Justice and Injustice are like Black and White. They are not real, only shades of the truth. No one seems to acknowledge it, but there is, and always will be, corruption."
Character History
Twenty years ago, a group of refugees appeared at the gates of Sylrias, claiming that they had been attacked. Each of their stories was different due to extreme trauma. However, they all had one thing in common.
The bandits were attempting to kill them and seize their supplies. However, before anyone's blade touched flesh, one of the refugees broke free of his bonds and began fighting. Apparently, he used his bare hands to disarm and break over fifteen armed thugs.
After his (likely exaggerated) heroism, he turned into an eagle and disappeared. None of the refugees had known that he was Kelvic. In fact, he hadn't spoken a word since joining their caravan.
Five years later, the man was seen again by a family of farmers. He claimed to be on a pilgrimage, and needed a place to stay the night. He paid them and rested under the stars.
When the family woke, they went outside to work in the fields. Surprisingly, they found five mercenaries severely injured in the same place the stranger was staying. A not left at the scene explained that he was not on a pilgrimage, but defending the farm from a band of cutthroats.
He spent the next ten years traveling, even spending some time as a hermit. He has mastered several martial arts, learning the body's various weaknesses. He even learned how to control the Flux. He doesn't believe in killing or weapons, his only advantage in a fight being knowledge.
He was drawn to Lhavit by the cultural and ethnic diversity and a relentless pursuit of knowledge.
