76th day of Fall, 513 AV
Miro had been told he must wait to receive compensation for his teachings of Reimancy. It was not what he would have liked to hear, but would accept the conditions. And though today he hoped to serve as apprentice to the master Hypnotist, he hoped also to further his lesson on Reimancy. Alric still had many improvements to make. Though the Reimancer would not wait any longer than he had to for his own lesson. Hopefully the training he would receive would be enough to enable him to create Hypnomancy on his own.
Though for now the human wizard slept, while the undead was sitting awake. Kneeling, more accurately, at the foot of his bed no less. That same bed where Alric was asleep. He seemed lost in some dream, mumbling to himself, turning about, but did not wake. Though he did seem unsettled by it, likely some nightmare toying with his unknowing mind. The Reimancer crawled his way to his friends side and brushed the hair from his face with a finger. He extended his aura of influence to embrace Alric and began to gather Djed in his throat. A long soft shushing was let out, the noise charged with an emotional response of calming.
Though the effect was not immediate and the results inconclusive, it did seem to have some effect. But that could have just been wishful thinking on the part of the caster. He did envy Alric's ability to sleep, dream, and rest his mind. Though it was likely the human was likewise jealous of the Chained One's ability to stay awake eternally to work. Or to do things like admire his sleeping friend. Miro smiled as the sleeping Hypnotist seemed to settle a bit. He looked so peaceful, and his pale skin seemed so soft. It was calming to watch the man's chest rise and fall. And the sound of breathing that accompanied it only furthered the effect.
Miro ran the back of his hand across Alric's cheek and quivered a bit. His well kept skin was even softer than it looked. Though upon being surprised by a voice, the hand was quickly withdrawn. Though it was not the sleeping man, but Ender. "Miro, Alric is not going to like waking up to you at his bedside. If he catches you touching him in his sleep, he is not going to stay here anymore. You will be lucky if he trusts you to even be alone with him. You are going beyond even violating his trust. This is a violation of his personal space, his dignity too. It would bother him, upset him even. That alone makes it wrong."
The Chained One scoffed, as it was this reason that made it so thrilling. "Look at him, so calm and innocent looking. He even seems to enjoy the physical contact. Besides all of that, he can't get upset if he doesn't know it is happening. I am not hurting him, and it makes me happy. Wizards are meant to be admired. Especially this one. He is quite the gorgeous creature." He leaned in and puckered his lips, aiming to plant a soft kiss on his friend's forehead. The Irylid panicked seeing this. "Stop! Alric is bound not to teach you anything if he wakes to you kissing him. Leave him alone and just let him sleep."
Miro stopped what he was doing, as Ender was likely right. He backed away and rose to his feet. Though he did not appreciate the demanding tone his Familiar used. For a creature who only a season ago would threaten to kill everyone connected to Miro, Ender was awfully protective of Alric. It was definitely odd. "I was only showing my affection for my friend. He has been good to me when few others have. Always respectful, polite, honest, Alric is a true friend. I was raised to express such things. Though I am not going to distort the image I have forged for myself. I would lose the man's respect if he were to see me displaying such feelings."
Ender stepping out of line had offended Miro, but he would not admit to it. Instead he was the type to hatch a plan. The Irylid was showing obvious signs of attachment to Alric himself. Evident by the fact that he could not let things rest after the wizard's last declaration. Instead he posed an argumentative statement. "Alric would much rather you show your affections in a constructive way, one that he is able to acknowledge. Compliment him, give a gift, show some sign of humanity still exists in you. Not this, this creeping upon his sleeping body, touching him as he lays unconscious. He most definitely is not the type to think less of you for having feelings of compassion."
Miro grinned at the last response. It was rather assumptious of the Familiar. The lack of respect made the cravings of domination even stronger. "And when did you become such an expert on Alric? You have known him for less than a season. And yet somehow you are able to understand his thoughts and feelings so well. I am not so easily convinced." And surprisingly enough Ender was offended by the comments. "Alric helped me to understand a great many things. And I have always had an eye for detail you have so very sorely lacked." The Familiar was a bit too heated on the topic. It was time to have a bit of fun at his expense.
The Reimancer walked back towards Alric slowly. "Perhaps you are right. Perhaps I should show him how much I care for him in another way. What was it you suggested, a gift perhaps? Yes, a gift, that sounds like the perfect display of feeling. And what is the best gift? Power. Always power. I know, I will give him Leeching. Though it will be horribly painful." He reached out an assuming hand toward the man's sleeping face. "No, Miro, stop! It is too painful, he will never forgive you! Neither will I!" The shocking declaration caused the wizard to halt and retract his hand. It was a good thing too, for the Hypnotist's eyes had just opened. He would wake to the sight of Miro standing at his bedside gazing down at him.
