[IronWorks] Stubborn man, you should be resting (Ora, Rhuryc

Postby Ora Sa'vina on September 9th, 2010, 11:35 pm

The young woman blinked a few times at her dinner partner before her attention moved back to her plate and she continued to eat the fish. Through the strands of hair that fell into her face she watched Rhyurc happily devour his meal, it was apparent that his steak was delicious, either that or he was famished. The Konti’s attention moved fully to Rhuryc as he stopped eating to speak. “Most likely, but I do not think that would help me very much.”
Her fork cut through the remaining half of her fish as she continued to eat. Her glass of wine was over halfway gone while she happily ate the professionally cooked fish. She smiled as he spoke: “At least you’re smiling.” She swallowed her mouth full of fish and nodded to the man., noticing that his attention remained on his plate. How has he known that she had been smiling? Sneaking glances?
Ora poked at her fish while her eyes remained on Rhuryc’s brown hair, the Konti enjoyed the dirty shade. She listened with a small smile on her face as he continued to speak, her eyes moving up to look at her.
The silver fork that rested in Ora’s hand was set down at the mention of family. The mention of her Mother. It had been years, but it was still something that the young woman hadn’t fully accepted. A frown replaced her smile and her violet eyes moved to her glass of wine. “My mother died two years ago. I have no sisters.” Her pale right hand reached out and took her wine glass in her hand, drinking a sip from it before continuing to speak, her eyes moving to latch with Rhuryc’s. “I am looking for my father, I believe he is in Riverfall. I’m planning on leaving for the city around the 85th.” She set down her glass and picked back up her fork, prodding her tidbits of fish that remained on her plate.
“Do you have any family here? Or anywhere for that matter.”

[IronWorks] Stubborn man, you should be resting (Ora, Rhuryc

Postby Rhuryc on September 12th, 2010, 1:59 pm

Rhuryc almost choked. Not on his steak, but Ora's words. Her mother died two years ago? And here he was, casually asking about her like a common fool. Or an uncommon one. Whichever was worse. What an ass. Nevertheless, Rhuryc recovered in a semi-graceful manner. He coughed behind a hand. Sure. Afterward he offered the woman a reassuring grin and tried to bury his failure into his plate only to release that he was devoid of any remaining steak. Blasted dinner ware! It conspired against him. Now he was desperate. With a free hand he grabbed his goblet and managed to choke down a mouth full of wine, satisfied that he was able to hide his social ineptitude in such an expert manner. If not for the hushed flailing, that was.

"Ah," Rhuryc started. His goblet gave a quiet 'chink' as he placed it on his plate instead of the table. Nice. "No. I mean, I use to. But not any more. My parents died when I was young." He spoke not in an attempt to gain sympathy, but more to provide an explanation for his meaning. Better than than back track later to clarify something he already clarified. "Which is all for the better, I think. I never knew them well, so they're departure was not one of sad departures or anything like that." He offered Ora a quick grin to show he felt no taboo or sadness on the issue. He also left out his uncle; Rhuryc was sure he had mentioned the man to Ora before, but that was a subject he was rare to broach. Even after years of grief, Rhuryc had still never been able to move past his uncle and their confrontations.

"It seems we're destined to speak on depressing subjects." Rhuryc guffawed and shook his head. He ignored the attention the sound drew from the rest of the patrons. "Perhaps we're meant to cry on each other's shoulders, eh?" He was only half joking.

[IronWorks] Stubborn man, you should be resting (Ora, Rhuryc

Postby Ora Sa'vina on September 13th, 2010, 5:11 am

The young woman worried for a moment as he seemed to choke slightly, strangely, he wasn’t eating anything at that moment, and it seemed he choked on his own tongue. Rhuryc smiled at Ora, his smile was an attempt to reassure her, it succeeded partially. The Konti tried to think little of his choking, watching him grab his goblet, swallowing some wine. Ora’s mind tried to avoid thoughts of her mother, but a few still crept in.

Her eyes seemed to focus again, removing herself from her own thoughts as Rhuryc spoke again, placing his goblet on his plate of all places. The Konti began to worry slightly about the man, had something snapped?

Rhuryc’s words were short and simple. He had family, but they had died her memory then kicked in, he had mentioned an Uncle who cared for him during one of their first visits with each other. He spoke shortly of him before, the reason for such a short discussion on that man left a few questions in Ora’s mind, but she was not about to force answers out of Rhuryc.

The young woman’s cheeks flushed, but only slightly, just a hint of color forming. “It seems that we are destined to speak of depressing things,” A small smile crossed the Konti’s face as she lifted her goblet, hiding behind it as she took a sip. “The last shoulder I cried on was that of a dead man, a live one would be a nice change.” Ora said with a small sigh, in her mind the words seemed a bit more amusing, but once they left her lips she realized the dark nature of them.

Ora’s hand placed her goblet next to her plate, she had finished eating, her fish was all gone aside from a few small bits she wouldn’t be able to eat without picking up the plate and licking it. The Konti had no real desire to leave Rhuryc’s presence, while he was not always as suave as he might wish; his quirks were a small comfort to Ora. The man’s willingness to cheer her up was also refreshing; he wasn’t as cold as the Konti had originally thought.

[IronWorks] Stubborn man, you should be resting (Ora, Rhuryc

Postby Rhuryc on September 13th, 2010, 4:27 pm

OOCI'm really sorry about my typos and word misuses. I need to not write these posts when I'm dead tired =P

Were they done? Rhuryc almost cheered aloud. Ora's last conversational masterpiece had his head reeling; how was he supposed to respond to that? No matter how he puzzled through them women remained an enigma to the man. There was very little logic he could follow and when he did it often ended in a headache and fine, foolish antic of his own making. Not this time. Rhuryc would not be caught in any such trap, so as their meal came to an end he made for a quick departure. Several gold mizas were produced from his pocket - the thick, leather coat still on his person - and discarded over the table to pay for brief foray into the world of the rich. Rhuryc was still not much for the crowd, but if he could eat like that on a daily basis he imagined he would be fat and happy. Or maybe just fat. Being fat might make him happy.

Rhuryc's chair was pushed back and he was on his feet in moments, the stinging pain in his thigh forgotten. Or ignored in any case. The motion might have appeared abrupt but the urgency was apparent on the man's face. He wanted to leave. Maybe not part ways, but change locations in the least. With the assumption that Ora would follow along, Rhuryc turned about and started his way out of the fine establishment, the dull drum of his boot on the wooden flooring haunting his cant. There was a slight pause between steps, one that depicted a limp in sound. Maybe he really should take it easy for a while.

"Sorry," He started as they graced the sunlight once more. The open air was a welcome companion. "Food was good, but the atmosphere always makes me. Ah. Jittery, I guess. Something like that." Rhuryc turned his head and offered Ora a genuine smile. "This might sound strange, but I don't think we're 'done' today. I was thinking of heading home, if you wanted to accompany me I would not deny such a companion." His tone was cordial, respectful. The last thing Rhuryc wanted was to make it seem like he wanted to take advantage of Ora. She was beautiful, sure, and he had a thing for that color of hair, but if there was one person that a Konti could trust to not do anything stupid, that person was Rhuryc. In regard to honor, anyway. Stupid was relative.

[IronWorks] Stubborn man, you should be resting (Ora, Rhuryc

Postby Ora Sa'vina on September 15th, 2010, 12:18 pm

As Ora finished her wine and meal, Rhuryc seemed eager to leave the establishment. The Konti was at first worried that she had done something to upset him, but it didn’t take a genius to realize that a blacksmith apprentice is quite out of place in such a restaurant. With nimble hands Ora pushed herself out of her own chair, leaving her linen napkin on the seat. The woman followed Rhuryc out into the bright afternoon sun, it seemed that they had spent longer in the building then Ora had originally thought.

The warm sun was relaxing against her pale, cool skin; it warmed her and put her at ease, like a hot bath. A small smile seemed to ingrain itself upon her face as violet eyes scanned the immediate area. After adjusting to the change in light, her eyes returned to her companion as he began to speak, a smile resting on his face as well.

“No need to apologize, thank you for lasting in there as long as you did, it was quite enjoyable.” A small bow of her head was given to Rhuryc in addition to a smile, mirroring his own. “Not done yet today?” Ora blinked a few times as her mind mulled over his words, unsure of their meaning. In some way, Ora understood, not sure what was left to accomplish for the day, but she knew that there was something left untouched.

“Go with him to his residence?” Ora smiled, that meant that he would rest and give his leg at least a little time before the barrage of work continued. Thankful for this turn in his thinking, Ora nodded slightly, her eyes moving to the road in front of them. The young woman’s intent was to follow, she had no reason not her, her first concern at present was still the condition of his leg.

“Lead the way and I shall follow.”

[IronWorks] Stubborn man, you should be resting (Ora, Rhuryc

Postby Rhuryc on September 19th, 2010, 2:39 pm

How strange. Somehow Rhuryc felt like he was luring an innocent maiden into a dungeon of despair, a trick to be played on the common passerby. Of course he no intentions for such a thing, but Ora was trusting. Too much so. At any moment he could advantage of the Konti and he doubted she could do much of anything about it. A hidden shudder flew down his spine. What a nightmare that would be. Pushing such thoughts out of his mind, Rhuryc lead the way through the city with that same, practiced routing he had shown time and time again. A few alleys brought the duo into the darker part of the city and in little time they stopped in a small hallway, one flanked with doors on either side. Rhuryc singled one out and ushered Ora forward, the door opening to reveal a quiet, simple home. Of course it was. Such a quaint adobe fit the blacksmith.

There was little to see. A bed, no windows, a table full of a varied assortment of tools and equipment. From the looks of it the room was a temporary staging point for some kind of adventuring company. A bag lay in the corner with a set of leather armor hung over it. His sword and shield were nearby, the latter set upon an almost ancient stand without so much as a single ornament. Everything efficient, plain. Like Rhuryc. When he entered he removed his coat and discarded it over the back of the singular chair tucked beneath the table. With a silent grumble the man hobbled over to his bed and set himself down with a hefty 'umph', his hands going at once to his wounded thigh. Blasted thing burned. He did his best to hide the pain from his company, an calm expression dominating his countenance. But the effects were obvious. No matter his strong-willed bullheadedness, the smith wanted to sit. To rest.

"It's not much." He said, his voice lacking its usual melodic rumblings. "But it's home."

[IronWorks] Stubborn man, you should be resting (Ora, Rhuryc

Postby Ora Sa'vina on September 20th, 2010, 4:10 am

The young Konti followed Rhuryc at a slow pace, she did not wish to hurry the man, not with his leg. Even if Rhuryc assured her he was in no pain, Ora still wanted him to take it slow. The woman walked slower than she would normally need to, her eyes wandered her surroundings, the buildings seemed to always blend together to Ora. Violet eyes searched the structured buildings, they were so different from Mura, her home had been sculpted almost like a shell with large pieces of colorful glass fitting as both windows and doors. It was so strange for a city to hold so little color on its own.

It did not take long for the duo to reach a dark area of the city, a almost oppressive area was the impression Ora received from her surroundings. The two reached a narrow alley with doors on either side, one of which was Rhuryc's. The two entered through the portal and into a small room. Not many comforts filled the small place, it was much the same to Ora's abode, though she had a window.

Violet eyes spent little time looking about Rhuryc's quarters, her attention focused on the man's movements. He moved to his bed and sat himself down, once he was sitting, his hands went for the deep wound on his leg. A frown grew over the Konti's face as her eye brows knit together. He spoke, but his words had trouble passing through Ora's worry, her small figure moved from the door, which she shut behind her and to Rhuryc's side.

"It is better than how you could live." She set herself down next to Rhuryc, her hands gently touching his, covering his thigh. "The dressings will need to be changed. I can go to the healers and procure the items you will need." Her eyes moved from his leg to his face, full of worry, sadness. Ora did not desire to see this man in pain.

Rhuryc blinked. Too close. He was not uncomfortable in the presence of women - not entirely - but in such close quarters he was confused as to Ora's touch. Strange, as her hands brushed his thigh Rhuryc was aware of how rarely he had actual contact these days. Was it years when last someone laid a hand on him? Not without the intention of killing him, anyway. He was unsure of his own actions. Women were strange, queer creatures that Rhuryc did not understand. Not at all. Was he supposed to hug her? How did he respond? Did he push her away, what? His own honor would not allow him to take advantage of the situation, so it was that Rhuryc instead opted to stand, his body rocking forward as he lifted himself from the bed. The effort brought a stinging pain from his wound by he ignored it; the awkward poise was worth the burn.

"Ah. They gave me some of the materials." He said, half hobbling over to the table. When he reached the chair Rhuryc sat and reached back into the pockets of his coat where he produced several bandages and a jar with a flat colored paste. Whatever the concoction was it was almost more painful than the wound itself, albeit that had told him that meant he was healing. Maybe it would be better to just chop the damn leg off.

"I know a little about dressing wounds." Rhuryc's eyes glazed over as he recalled an old event, one that had almost lead to his death. He neglected to mention that he had once pulled an arrow out of his own side. His torso shuddered just from the thought of it. "Do you know medicine, though? I suppose a practiced hand would be far superior to my own."

[IronWorks] Stubborn man, you should be resting (Ora, Rhuryc

Postby Ora Sa'vina on October 1st, 2010, 2:48 pm

Violet eyes followed Rhuryc as he stood. “Should I not have done that?” He spoke as he moved slowly to the chair with his coat hanging over the back, he set himself down in it, his hands digging in the pockets. “Ah. They gave me some of the materials.” He said as he moved. Ora watched as dressings and an ointment was extracted from the deep pockets of Rhuryc’s jacket. At least he had supplies to dress his wound, which was a start.

A strange expression crossed Rhuryc’s face as he spoke of his knowledge. What was that? Regret? Unfortunate circumstances? Undoubtedly unfortunate, his eyes seemed to zone out, his core seemed to shiver slightly. Ora was curious what the man was thinking about, but knew better than to pry. If he wished to tell her, he would, simple as that.

“I only know what my Mother was able to teach me, she was the real healer, and I only helped when she needed it.” Ora smiled slightly as she stood, moving a step towards Rhuryc. The Konti contemplated fetching a healer rather than doing it herself. Her final decision was to do it herself, fetching a healer would take a qualified person away from someone who was in dire need. The young woman reached out for the items in questions, taking the dressings and ointment, setting them down on the table behind Rhuyrc.

The Konti’s face flushed rather suddenly at a simple realization. Rhuryc would have to remove his pants. Violet eyes shot to the ground, her face hiding from his eyes. "You will... Er." Ora bit her lip, the tips of her ears gained a touch of pink as she continued to stumble over her words. "Need to remove," Her eyes glanced up to Rhuryc's green ones, the hand that had held the small jar of ointment gestured towards his legs.

Ora turned quickly on her heels, facing the bed, she busied herself with adjusting the pillows and pulling back a blanket, folding it up neatly. "If you lie down and cover yourself, I will dress the wound again." Her eyes remained away from Rhuryc, her attention was in the small busying tasks she could find for herself. "I will wait over there," Ora pointed to a corner far from the door. "Just let me know when you are decent." The Konti moved to the corner she designated and closed her eyes, the flushing on her face was fading, it was taking a short while, but it was fading.

The young woman did not wish to see all of Rhuryc, seeing him topless the first time she met him was enough awkward introductions for her. Seeing the rest of Rhuryc would just leave the two with strange, uncomfortable good-byes.

OOCRhu has green eyes =P

His pants? Right. The bandages were under them. Oh. Oh! Rhuryc grinned at Ora's reaction. She was silly in her actions, young, and was she? That would explain a lot. Rhuryc was not inexperienced in a woman's touch. His years had brought him experience in some of the less romantic wiles of romance, so the idea of exposing himself to one of the opposite gender was not a cause for shame. Albeit, with just the way he remembered the woman reacting to him without a shirt, he could only imagine the trauma of a rather indecent exposure. The solution to their dilemma was a simple one. Gingerly, Rhuryc removed his belt and hung it up over his coat. The lacing came next, the knots undone and his pants soon removed without much of a fuss. It was strange, Ora poised so nervously in the corner, her soft white face flush with a crimson that almost made him blush. All was not lost. For beneath the breeches Rhuryc was a fan of small clothes, and indeed he wore the underwear now, not one to lack decency.

"It's alright, Ora, I don't run about in the nude beneath my pants." He spoke with an easy tone, any bout of nervousness now entirely bereft from his countenance. Nevertheless, he stepped over to the bed and removed the quilt. He wrapped the soft cloth around his waist and folded the edges under his groin and around the wounded leg, wrapping his lower torso in what could almost qualify for half a dress. He felt silly, but if it would put the Konti's mind at ease he was willing to bare the look. He sat with a slouch. With a free hand he hoisted his leg up onto the mattress, grimacing while doing so, the bandages brought up so it might be easier for the woman to work.

"You can turn around now."
