AppearanceRace: human
Gender: male
Age: sixteen
Birthday: 82, winter, 497 AV
Birthplace: lhavit
Appearance: Keph is a stark contrast to his mother’s beauty. Where her hair is fair and cascades down her back in nebulous billows, his is dark and disheveled; where her eyes are a pale green, his are a brilliant navy blue, made deep with thought and wonder.
He stands at 5’9” and weighs at a healthy 152lbs. He wears a lean build with little muscle, displaying his blatant lack of any athletic ability. On his face, he jumps from mask to mask to fit the situation, giving off the self-possessed airs of a practiced actor.
Character ConceptKeph, above all, is a perfectly sensible person—the voice of reason, a boy who keeps his wits on him. His mother, Penora Alowi, is a charming piece of hard luck; with enough charisma to sweep a gentleman off his feet, but with the audacity of a schoolchild. When worse comes to worse, Keph acts as the backbone that keeps him and his mother off the streets. In general, he keeps them living in moderate comfort.
However,
he can be unreasonable, under the right circumstances. He hates this side of him, because having no control over something is absolutely
infuriating.
He, however, has acquired more of his mother’s traits than he’d like to admit. He sees rules and decency as little more than guidelines you
could follow. He lies with a straight face, and demonstrates the ability to weave together intricate tales with a flick of the wrist.
He has a passion for books and reading, and keeps a journal. He writes daily on things that matter to him.
His relationship with animals is complicated. Character HistoryOnce upon a time, there was a boy named Keph. He was a good child. Obedient and sensible, he proved no trouble at all for Penora Alowi, his mother and a beautiful bundle of trouble in itself. He didn’t know his father.
The two of them, mother and son, lived in the rooms above the small, unassuming flower shop nestled in the Sartu Peak. It was slow business with a small number of customers trickling in every day, but the two of them scraped by.
Keph didn't know how they survived off the flower shop, and he suspected his mother of something more, but he did like the flowers. He spent a majority of his childhood life tending to the gardens and the potted plants, growing fond of each and every one of them. In his spare time, he read books that his mother brought home every week, who told him that she wanted him to get a good education when he got older.
It was a quiet, tranquil life that he lived. It wasn’t at all luxurious, but it was comfortable. But he was nagged by the imprint that his father had left on his mother, who pretended to be joyous, and nipped at by a desire to see the world and do something that would leave his mark on the world.
But his mother. How would she live without him? So he quelled these ambitions, until his mother, vexed by his ignorance of the world, insisted that he find a job at one of the Towers and nurture his lacking education.

HousingLocation: in lhavit
House: Keph lives in a small flower shop with his mother.
A sign that hangs over the small shop calls it Alowi’s Flowers, and it’s located in Sartu Peak. If one had missed the sign, however, they most certainly would have guessed by looking inside. It doesn’t get visitors often, but when a customer enters, they’re met with the fresh, smiling face of Penora Alowi.
Bright and chipper, the customer walks into a wondrous mix of greenery and skyglass. One whole side of the shop is made of glass and allows the sunlight to filter through, and the rest are flowers. Plants dominate the interior, with vines of green crawling out of foliage as though meaning to trip somebody, and vibrant petals speckled all the colours of the rainbow. Tables support smaller tables on top of them, all surfaces but the counter bedecked with potted plants.
Other than flowers and plants, there are three other things in the shop—the old-fashioned wooden counter, set off to the right of the entrance, a door behind it that only Penora has the key to, and another door off to the very left corner of the shop. It leads to the upstairs, which is the living quarters of Penora and her son, Keph.
