The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Arysana’s steps were hard and heavy, her presence heard and felt far faster than she was seen, black bags under her eyes detailing quite blatantly her current state of mind.

Study had been harsh, and classes worse still, a night of studying closing with half a rest lost to chore duty, and then time that she usually took to make up for it stolen by the word of another student claiming that there was reason for her to report to the Dawn Tower earlier than what was her original intention, and even with the long bath she’d opted to take, and the freshness of wearing recently washed clothes, there seemed little enough to stimulate her and ready her for a day of work, nor the classes she had to attend straight after. ‘I’ll probably fall asleep when I try to meditate,’ a tired giggle left her at the thought, rubbing her eyes as she made her way through the hall and onwards to the professor’s study, a dull light shining from an open door in the distance shaking off some of her tiredness as her mind prepared for work.

She figured that there was little use for a verbal confirmation of her arrival, instead opting to give her usual, rhythmic five knocks on the door as she passed it, a pile of blank sheets and envelopes sitting on her desk.

As usual, there was no need for an explanation to be asked for, a cuss coming from Armitican’s nook as he shifted about his pages and books, seeking whatever list of instructions he’d written for her. ‘Someone needs to teach him the difference between ‘servant’ and ‘assistant.’

Not a moment after she had seated herself comfortably in her little wooden chair, and turned to the cabinet at her flank to seek quill and ink, had Armitican shown himself and dropped a scrawled letter and lest onto the desk, hands filled with tomes and notes. “I have a class, I need you to write out thank you letters for a meeting, envelope them, and drop them at reception. The names are listed, as well as notes on what you should say.”

He gave a short nod, then, not allowing Arysana a moment of time to decline or ask for further instruction, bustling out of the room and down the hall. ‘Shouldn’t I be attending a class or two? I’m an assistant, aren’t I? Surely that extends to lessons and teaching, does it not?’

“Yes, sir. Of course, sir,” she mocked, ensuring not to voice her petty words of annoyance until Armitican was well and truly out of hearing range.

She was half inclined to take a short doze in her seat, two passer byes throwing her an odd look and her snap to attention, finally realising why her desk was in rather plain sight from the door; it was difficult to slack off when you ran the risk of being caught out came ridiculously regularly.

She pressed her lips and rolled her shoulders, eyes poring over the contents of the scrawled note, eyebrows raising and expression slowly twisting. 'What?'

A list of names and a underlined notes, some regarding a particular avarice to be address: a preferred title or requested compliment, words to avoid in use and ways to sign off. "Alright," she hummed, gaze flitting between the notes and a blank page, inking her quill as she roughed out a draft.

'Dear Miss'

'Dear Professor'

'Dear Mr-'

She sighed and slashed through her third attempt at an address line, figuring that she could always decipher what was written in notes in order to come to the conclusion in regards to Armitican's relationship with them, moving on to the content of the letter with a fustrated huff. She tilited her head side to side as she poised her quill ready to write, finding it somewhat difficult to ignore her own inclinations as she planed, shaking off her writing quirks as she focused on imitating Armitican's dull drone.

'I am writing in thanks in your input and attendence...'

She pressed her lips and glared. Were they the kinds of words that Armitican would use? Thanks... would 'gratitude' be a cleaner alternative? Perhaps so?

She made the switch and pressed on, another several chimes of writing and working through sentence structure until she was satisfied and well into the rhythm of the work, her thoughts flowing quicker and clearer as she made her own notes and sentences to include. For the first of the women, it was appearances to be played on.

Armitican was nothing if not prim and proper, although his gaze was never kind towards anyone below her mother's age, Arysana had witnessed him compliment the Dawn women dozens of times over, the same words, the same strange laugh, the same light look. Arysana made a short note about the woman's voice a welcome reprieve, about what she had to say bringing up brilliant points for further thought, as she always did. Arysana made care not to deviate too much in terms of what was written, glad that she could turn the 'she likes the sound of her voice too much' comment wholly around.

She signed off the way that was listed, whole name, position, and affiliation with the Dawn Tower clearly stated, before returning to the address line. She hovered as she sought the correct words and title, before settling on a clean 'Madam.'

She scrutinised her work for a further five chimes, combing over spelling and grammar, revising senteces and paragraph spacing, only bringing out a fresh sheet of paper and begining the final piece.

Luck was thrown her way, with her writing clear and evenly spaced, her vigirous care and planning, she figured, playing a major role in final success.

Arysana couldn't help but simply stare at her work for a good two chimes, scanning that every letter crossed or dotted, judging every flick and curl, and checking thrice her grammar and spelling correct. "One down," she hummed, placing the finished work into a paper sleeve, crossing of the woman's names and notes before targeting the next subject.

The next name of choice was a familiar one, one where she could not only place face but voice and form. It was easier to write to someone known to her, she knew what was meant by the comments and how to interpret what was meant, the short words and choppy sentences lending far greater direction than what she gained
