-Character Concept
Personality: Valideen has a good sense of humor, so long as there isn’t more pressing matters at the time. He is slow to make true friends, and slower to place them above his race. Valideen is a dreamer and can be a sort of idealist, he is tenacious above all else. There is a darker side to Valideen as well, a cold and callous portion of his being that lurks just beneath the surface, a predatory nature that was developed long before he could contest against it, but in either of the extremes one thing is apparent; the ends always justify the means. Also, Valideen is know to be a hypocrite. In the end Valideen’s personality depends upon the moment. It should also be noted that it is very, very easy to tempt Valideen into doing something if done properly.
Ethics: Valideen’s ethics are usually sound, and something “right” usually pertains to helping someone that is helpless or doing whatever it takes to keep a promise, however if someone is helpless against him….he could care less. “Wrong” can be a strange subject to Valideen, and simple, or common things can be taken as a very offensive moment to him, for example the parents of a child openly arguing with each other, uncaring as to how the child could feel, would be taken as something very wrong. While in contrast, a woman being treated as property would seem quite normal to him. Killing things is something that cannot be avoided to survive, and as a fact of life, Valideen does not feel it is an “evil” deed, only a distasteful one.

Character History
Valideen was born as a pure Symenstra, as was his twin sister-Saraneen- one could say that they were the cause of their mothers death, not intentionally, but the venom that a young Symenestra releases upon birth contributed to her death, Saraneen was born first, and Valideen came second, while also getting burned across his left leg by the venom of his sister. Because of their mother’s death they were both raised by their father Vondilaa, and their aunt Seese, who never had any children.
As a child Valideen was taught the basics of Symenestra life, and also the religious ceremonies that take place in the home, he took an interest in learning how to sketch out elaborate portraits of other Symenestra, and then other creatures entirely, until moving towards more technical drawings as he grew older, sketching separate muscle groups and bones of certain things. He always liked to fight though, that was something no one could deny him, whether it be an argument, game, or wrestling, Valideen always enjoyed it, although more often then not he takes these battles too far, and on occasion has been known to lose himself and start fighting more and more seriously.
Valideen, at the beginning of his teenaged years, was informed that he would be responsible for protecting his sister at all times, which upset him more than just a little. But nevertheless he abided by his father’s word and began to learn what he would need to protect her….it was readily apparent that he was not meant for the skill of a sword, or the finesse of a bow, as he always tossed aside the guards meant to protect during training, and without exception, resorted to fighting with his body. So he was trained how to fight by his father, using claws and fang against a sword-armed opponents, while learning book-knowledge from a sage in the community.
When he turned 23 he stumbled across the Sages’ secret, he knew a measure of magic, or at least he knew how to alter the structure of his own hand, in a roundabout way of blackmailing Valideen convinced him to show him the basis of such a thing, though the deal was only that he’d be taught the basics, and he’d have to do the rest. As such Valideen is not formally trained in how Djed can cause magic, but his unrefined knowledge is still more than enough to perform, as a final lesson the Sage gave Valideen a journal about Glyphing, Morphing, and Djed flow in general, as well as a slight demonstration on glyphing. When he left for the last time the Sage said “You carry my family legacy with you, I do not have a child of my own who I can teach…..so you’ll have to do.”
At 26 Valideen and Saraneen both went out hunting for game, neither of them could have know what awaited them on that day…They were ambushed by three hunters, covered in animal furs and masked by an animal skull, who in a matter of moments rendered both of the Symenestra unconscious, the only thing that saved Valideen was that there happened to be another group of Symenestra nearby who saw what had happened, and while they tried to get Saraneen back, the three furred hunters escaped with Valideen’s sister with them, leaving him an only child once he woke up.
Shamed, Valideen swore to get Saraneen back, no matter what he had to do, or the time it took.
