Mirror Lake Mirror Lake is one of the major attractions of Avanthal. As the name entails, the ice is so expertly frozen that is appears to be a mirror. From the lake one can see the Ice Palace over the snow covered trees that encircle the lake. Due to the fact that the ice is so smooth and well taken care if it appears to be water. In fact, the lake is completely frozen all the way through. In all the years that people have been frequenting Mirror Lake the ice has never cracked. This is due to the careful upkeep of Savina Coolwater and her twin brother Aldin. They use their ice reeving powers from their Gnosis gifts daily to make sure the ice never cracks under the skater's feet. Skating at the lake is free but donations are always accepted because Savina needs to make a living some how. If someone wants to skate but does not own any skates they can rent or buy skates from Savina. She also offers lessons to people who do not know how to skate with the help of her brother Aldin. Both siblings are great teachers but Savina is much more sought after due to the fact she is more patient. Aldin usually teaches the skaters due to Savina being busy keeping the lake in check and managing the rental shop. The rental shop doubles as a small lodge for tired skaters. Savina sells warm drinks and food to people who need a break from the cold. Savina and Aldin usually socialize with the lake patrons when they have some time to kill. The siblings are very sociable and Adlin can talk with a patron for hours on end if feels the need. Savina often has to reign him in and remind him that he does have a job to do. As their hold name represents, both of them are skilled in the work of water. They are both trained fishers and boaters but prefer to spend their time at Mirror Lake making sure it is safe and enjoyable for all their visitors. The two siblings balance each other out well. Where Savina is serious when it comes to tending the lake while Aldin is more free spirited and care free. Neither one could look after the lake on their own. Savina would be too busy making sure everything was working perfectly and Aldin would be goofing off. The two need each other like yin and yang. They are the epitome of the balance of work and play. Savina does have her times of calmness when she will settle down and have a drink of tea with a customer. Aldin is always very social and often tries to get his sister to relax a bit.
