Starting Gnosis Threads

Postby Shane Wallsly on January 3rd, 2014, 11:59 pm

A few things I've always wondered about the Gnosis Thread you submit to the HD if you are applying to start with a Gnosis. Do you just submit a solo to the HD? Is there a suggested length? Does the rest of your CS have to be complete and submitted first? If there are minor errors in the way you play a skill or even how you portray a God do you get a do-over? Can you edit it to make it more suitable? Is it more about making sure the premise of how you got your Gnosis Mark is suitable or is it all about proving 100% that you have skills and knowledge to portray that Gnosis correctly?

Yes you submit a solo to the HD.
Long enough to catch the god's attention.
CS should be reasonably complete, though if your history is dependent on the gnosis it's probably forgivable for that to not be fleshed out yet.
The founder judging your gnosis request will most likely tell you what's wrong with your story, and you should be allowed to re-do it (if this doesn't happen, try specifically requesting feedback, because feedback takes effort and if you're just going to give up instead then it's not worth giving ;) ).
I think it's mostly about the premise being suitable and also you portraying the god correctly. The test of actually using the gnosis will come in regular roleplay, and will determine how likely you are to get a second mark ;)
