His heart beat could heard in his ears he had never encountered any real danger and all the sword practice he had was with his grandfather and with a young friend.
Trivon's hand slowly moved towards his blade, drawing it with caution from his sheath, walking with ease towards what could be his first real fight. His body became tense as he walked with his sword held in front of him. He could see it clearly now a large wolf in a shining white fur coat, Trivon stopped as he caught the wolfs eye. The wolf dropped the small rabbit it had clenched between its teeth and moved its body to face Trivon.
The wolf charged towards Trivon with great force, fangs covered in blood. While moving out of the wolfs attack With a swing of his sword Trivon had managed to give the beast a flesh wound on its hind leg, But the beast still growling charged again towards Trivon this time he did not dodge the attack rather he took the full blow.
The beast had wounded Trivons left shoulder but it had suffered a more devastating blow to the neck, the wolf lye on the blood soaked snow gasping for air kicking its legs trying to fight back. Trivon felt no fear but sorrow, this was not his place killing a living thing but he did not wish the beast anymore suffering. Kneeling on his right knee with his blade in his left hand he gave a quick push and shoved the blade into the wolfs chest.
The wolfs body went limb as Trivon removed his sword and wiped it clean on the side of his coat, he stood up and looked around him he had been hurt but the wound was not bleeding very much. Trivon sat back down on the snow exhausted from the fight which had left him uneasy and breathing heavily. Trivon sighed heavily and moved towards the beast. Maybe he could cook the animal he had slain and keep its fur for a blanket but he did not know how to do this. He looked at the blood soaked fur and considered that it would not be worth anything like that.
Trivon did not want to spend the night in the wilderness alone, he calculated how long it would take him to get back to the city. After cleaning up his own wound Trivon picked up the wolf and carried it on his back. his home was a mere 5 minute walk from the main gate, what were the chances of getting caught.
Trivon began his return to the city as he had found the dirt road he had followed.
