Serta was in a less than ideal situation. She was seated against a tree in a small clearing, her arms tied rather securely behind her back, which was surprising all in itself seeing as the two men who had tied her appeared to be no more than bumbling idiots and she was unable to shift. The angle that her arms had been pulled back to ensured that she would break, or at least dislocate, bother of them should she even try. The men responsible were leering down at her, fairly satisfied grins on their faces.
The two idiots, as she had fondly taken to calling them, had now been joined by another, slightly less clueless man. He glanced at her as he walked passed and Serta glared at him as he pulled open her bag, shovelling through her meagre belongings, looking for anything of value. At this she at least had something to feel grateful for; the only valuable belongings she had were her boots, particularly old, heavy, leather beasts with spring loaded daggers hidden in the soles, and her Bagh Nahk, which was tucked into her boots.
Serta struggled as subtly as she could, pulling at her bonds in an attempt to loosen them. She looked up just in time to she them pull out her spare boots. "Hey!" She yelled as the man threw them towards his bags. "Don't touch my boots you runty little--" She yelped as one of the others kicked at her, but recovered quickly, baring her teeth at him. The others laughed and she rolled her eyes. "Yeah, so brave, laughing at a restrained girl. Nice." she snarled.
Sighing she let her head roll back to rest against the tree. She rubbed her head against it, the rough bark scratching at her scalp. "So girl," The newcomer, and from the looks of it, the leader started, sitting back from her bag to eye her curiously. "What are you doing out here all on your own?" Serta looked around again and tried for her most unsettling smile, one that showed all of her teeth and pinned him with a cold eyed glare. "You should let me go." She said, ignoring his question and forcing her shoulders to relax. "The others I was hunting with will be here soon, and there's more of them than you." She lied, her eyes falling to the knife at his hip. "They have more weapons too." She added. The leader snorted at her and stood, walking towards her. "You're alone brat, we found your camp. Now what are you doing in Sunberth?" He grunted, kicking at her foot. Serta growled and looked away, eyes scanning the trees, looking for any opportunity to distract him. "Are you a spy?" He continued. Serta raised her eyebrows at him incredulously. "Are you an idiot?" She exclaimed in surprise. The leader glared and kicked at her again. "Answer the question!" He barked. Serta narrowed her eyes and starred at him, refusing to answer. This idiot can try to kill me if he really wants to. She decided, setting her shoulders and ignoring the pull in her elbows.
