Solo Racing across the plains

26 Winter 512, A.V.

The wind blew across the plains once again showing that the winter season was upon the Cyphrus plains. The wind did not bother the Endrykas' people as they went bout their everyday life. Each clan worked in its own way around the rest of the clans. One clan that the rest of the people looked to was the Amethyst clan. The clan worked with horses and helped the races around Endrykas when they have untamed horses that are either going to be a family pet for the kids to learn on or going to the military clan or other military. Many Amethyst clan members train horses but one family within the clan is known for training the military horses. The Moonstone family has been training military horses for many generations. Jasmine was the oldest of the moonstone children who will one day take over as the head trainer when her father steps down from training the horses. For now though Jasmine prefers to ride out on the plains and watch the other clans work from a distance.

Jasmine walked out of the pavilion and hurried towards the rest of the pavilions to get several things her mother needed for breakfast to be put on. Jasmine talked to one of the older ladies that has a grandson going through her fathers training program at the moment. "I have heard father say great things about him. I know my father will be so happy to pass him through," Jasmine said with a smile as she has the oil in her hands and heads out the door. She smiled before hurrying home making sure not to shake up the oil too much.

Jasmine walked back home as the wind caught her hair and blew it to her left as she walked. She was met by many of the families stepping out and stretching to reach for the sky shortly after awakening. "I'm home!" Jasmine called entering her home to see her father starting to move around. "Welcome home.... Where have you been?" he asked looking at his oldest daughter. "I went to get the oil mother had requested before I started breakfast this morning," she said and bowed lightly to show her respect to her father. As her father nodded to her Jasmine moved into the kitchen area and lit the fire in the oven before pouring just a little bit of the oil in the frying pan to let it get warm while she worked on making scrambled eggs and frying some bacon. The smells of cooking bacon and seasoned eggs begin to fill the pavilion as Jasmine's mother and grandmother emerged from their rooms to go outside and greet the morning that awaited them. Soon Jasmine set the table and put the large plate of eggs and bacon in the middle of the table where everyone could reach the food easily. Jasmine sat at the table yawning gently as the rest of the house joined her and her father for breakfast before everyone's day began. ''Mrs. Riverland said hello mother," Jasmine said looking at her. "Yes, mother. I am going to take Chaser out for a ride," she said. "Be safe when you go out riding this morning," her father said looking at her out of the right side of his eye. "Yes, father," Jasmine said.

Jasmine excused herself from the table and took her plate to the kitchen. She washed her plate and went outside with a smile and closed her eyes letting the wind once more pick up her hair. Jasmine walked around the encampment letting the wind guide her movements. She would look for Chaser later on in the morning to go riding and see what can be seen across the plains. Jasmine sat down and laid back looking up at the sky with a smile, "its beautiful up there." She said gently closing her eyes quietly letting her body feel the wind as it blew across the fields making the grass from the plains sway back and forth. "Looks like little tiny dancers," Jasmine said quietly watching the grass with a smile.

Jasmine drifted to sleep laying in the grass waiting for Chaser to return close to the encampment. She laid there for several minutes as her mind raced across the plains already on Chaser, "fast Chaser catch the wind." Jasmine whispered quietly in her sleep. Jasmine began to laugh feeling small hairs prickling her skin, "Chaser?" She asked and slowly opened her eyes to see Chaser snort some and nuzzle her face. "Im up I promise," Jasmine said with a smile. Jasmine got up and stretched with a smile before patting the side of his neck. "Ready to go get the Yvas on big boy or are we going bareback today?" Jasmine asked with a smile looking at Chaser as her eyes sparkled with the excitement of the possible answer from her stallion. Chaser stomped his hoof twice signaling he wanted her to ride bareback this time. "You want to be as close as possible too dont you?" Jasmine asked knowing her stallion loved when they would ride bareback so that both of them are closer to the sky.

Jasmine slowed Chaser down to a stop as her heart pounded rhythmically against her chest. "That was amazing big boy!" Jasmine said with a winded laugh. Chaser neighed turning his head to look back at his rider showing he heard her. "Let us return home now," Jasmine said with a smile and patted his neck before turning him around and clicking her tongue. As both rider and horse went back the wind fought against them to keep both on the plains. "Come on Chaser show the wind who the master is," Jasmine said leaning close to his ear which flicked backwards as she began talking. Jasmine sat back and tightened her legs on Chaser's sides as he raced forward even faster. Jasmine smiled feeling every muscle move and every breath her stallion drew to beat the wind. "Fly Chaser!" Jasmine said lowering her upper half as this helped the stallion to gain even more speed as she felt like she was floating on air. Jasmine once again sat up when the rider and stallion neared the city. The city had come alive with movement while Jasmine had been out making her smile as she saw many horses with riders walking around.

I don't see a Storyteller Secrets link in your profile, so I'm guessing you haven't gotten Jasmine's family approved as personal NPCs. If you're going to use them in future threads, please do that.

Also, please deduct expenses for Winter 513 from Jasmine's ledger.

I cannot grade this thread as it currently stands, because its premise is inconsistent with Drykas lore. Namely, the Drykas do not use standard tack: they use a yvas in place of a saddle, and no bridles whatsoever. Also, Drykas do not have barns, stalls, nor even much in the way of corrals. They do not build permanent structures. They live a nomadic lifestyle with tents and wagons; everything they use must pack for transport. And they do not need to confine stock when their Webbers (namely the pavilion Ankals) can simply use the Web to track their animals. Please review the Drykas lore and revise this thread accordingly.

Finally, please be sure to keep Jasmine's activities consistent with her skill levels. With 15 points in Horsemanship, what is called Novice level for a reason, she is nowhere near "one of the toughest horse trainers". Between that and her lack of points in Teaching, it would also not be appropriate for her to oversee and decide whether other trainers get to move on in their educations as you describe. It's more than fine to have her teaching students, but her skills do not currently measure up to a management role.
