10th of Winter, 513 AV
Location: Aka's Cavern, in her cage

Another day. Another dim passing of the sun over the horizon. Another tick of the clock, a movement of the hand. Evalin ignored it all. She lay flat on the floor of her change, the manacles on her wrists rattling with every movement she made. Her eyes were closed, absently pondering the situation as it had become. On her chest rested Tsenrika in his sealed form, quiet as well. Neither one seemed to wish to break the peaceful silence, if such thing as silence really COULD be peaceful.

Shifting to lay on her side Evalin looked down at her hands folded together in front of her, "Tis a strange day when I grow to look forward to the return of the girl. Perhaps stagnation has finally done what an eternity of running never could. Perhaps I have at last lost the final portion of my wits and now lay about in a dismal stupor. What think you Tsenrika? Might we simply be out there somewhere, just half dreaming all that we do now?"

Hope I that this not be so, for what a waste it would be to lie about when the world has yet to be torn asunder.

Evalin smiled and closed her eyes, "But at times this could be quite a good dream. No worries but of the present, and if I am finding the time to lazily doze then surely I am not want for anything."

Perhaps, or your life has long sense ended and now you exist in a strange place between the cycle and life, trapped here as punishments for your wrong doing.

"You are not the best of partners when it comes to things of dreams and invisionments of better things."

Say you not that those of Immortality can dream not?

Evalin thought for a moment, curling her knees up to her chest to lay in an almost fetal position, "Indeed you are right my dear Tsenrika... Thus it must be that if this is a dream then I am yet alife, which all the more makes me think this dream be of more good than ill."

Evalin could just barely feel the familiar's amusement through their bond as he replied in his usual monotoned way, Then waken you now or slumbering Witch. Surely I would like to meet the face of my Master who is refreshed and still in loving devotion with a pulse. His mocking chuckled was all it took to make Evalin's eyes roll, "If this be a dream then you are nothing more than a figment of fiction. Thus your words mean nothing at all the the fact of reality."

There was the sound of the door to the chamber beginning to open, and Evalin reflexively clasped her hands over Tsenrika. "Well now, I wonder what product of a fevered mind is this that knocks upon the door of my subconsciousness."

Perhaps you have dreamed of the means of your escape from this solitude. What wonder would that be indeed...

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.

The door was opened and Evalin felt a fluttering in her chest. With curiosity in her eyes she raised her head, looking expectantly upon the portal to the unknown to see what sort of being would cause a stirring within her undead body. It was not the child serpent Aka, this was obvious with but a moment had passed. It was, however, one of those strange serpentine Dhani, large in body, scaled in covering. Everlin's eyes flickered up and down the creatures body, seeing his wide shoulders, long tail passing over the stones of the cave. In his hand was held a package, of apparent value to the Mistress for her to have it delivered in her absence.

Be this what you dream of then when slumber takes you? The Familiar's voice distracted the girl and she looked down at the gem with a smile No not quite, but then at times a dream make take an unforeseen turn down a path you know not the end of.

She felt it again, a prickling beneath her skin, a thrumming in her chest that gave her pause as she watched the creature place the package on the bed, turning to leave once more. His eyes did not wander to Evalin in her cage, and in fact it paid her no mind at all. Shifting her body with the sound of clinking chains Evalin wrapped her fingers around the bars of the cage, pulling her face closer to them as she examined the Dhani. There was something odd about this one, something off that resonated in the best of ways with the Wretched one. Once more that humming in her mind, that sense of connection, and Evalin smiled slowly, showing her teeth.

"Stop..."

The Dhani's movements halted, his hand still reaching for the frame of the door. His body was frozen, brow furrowing and eyes flicking back to the cage, a mixture of surprise, and unease filling his gaze.

Indeed... A good dream indeed... Evalin wondered to her familiar, using the bars to aid her in standing. She pressed her naked body against the bars, reaching her hand threw and crooking a finger at the Dhani, "Come... Close the door, and come..."

It hesitated, body shaking as his brows knitted together in pain and concentration. At length he finally submitted, unable to resist the order and closing the door, slithering toward Evalin. It was now that the nuit got a good look at the creature. Several heads taller than her, more than twice as wide, he was a monster that hovered over a little girl, a creature of children's nightmares, yet somehow a figment of the most wonderful dream Evalin has ever had.

The Dhani wrapped his hands around the bars, his strength enough that he could tilt it back to look Evalin in the eye as he hissed, "Who are you..."

Evalin pulled herself up closer to smile in answer, "Your new master. Now... tell me your name."

He struggled to resist once more, to fight the order given to him, but Evalin could feel their marks resonating with one another, and her's was the stronger of the two. When they were so close Evalin could see the slight reddish tint to his eyes. Finally, realizing it was futile to resist, he spat, "Grasshalegessh." He released the cage, letting it slam into the ground and force Evalin to hold the bars or risk falling to the ground. Despite this, Evalin's smile did not waver, "I can feel it, your hatred is strong. So strong, and before now it was directionless. Yes, hate me if you wish, for now it matters not what you might want, you are mine and mine alone."

The nuit chuckled at the stricken look Grasshal's face, a hand moving to touch Tsenrika's smooth surface, "What say I to you? A dream of the most pleasurable nature, but now it is I that wishes that this were not a dream. This be far too sweet a turn of events for me ever to wish to slumber again."

The Familiar shifted from his position, rising from Evalin's chest to take his natural shape. The Dhani's eyes widened in surprise at the Familiar's sudden appearance, making Evalin's amusement grow, "Then perhaps you speak the truth, my Master. Curious how it is that such things might occurs. Perhaps this is a dream after all..."

Grasshal looked between the familiar and its master, a frown fixed on his face as he asked, "What is a creature like you doing in a cage, pet to a Viper?"

Evalin raised a finger to her lips, her intended order clear and causing the Dhani to fall silent once more. Evalin looked at Tsenrika, "What think you? Perhaps that hated god listened to the prayers of one such as I? It is strange that there be a Chained One so close for so long and we not meet."

Tsenrika floated through the bars, hovering around Grasshal who turned his body to follow the Familiar's progress, "Little matter it from whence it came, but how might we use him..."

The Dhani's frown deepened as he struggled to speak, but knowing he could not. He folded his arms over his barrel of a chest, glaring at Evalin who absently fingered a strand of hair, "No sure answer can I give my dear Tsenrika... but trust in me that it shall be of use in the end. Thought must be given to the situation. As you say, haste is best discouraged."

"Indeed. The Familiar agreed, returning to her side once more, "He is a useful tool to have for the future plans, but we must not use him carelessly. Swear him to silence of us, for now, and we shall summon him when next he is needed."

The nuit raised an eyebrow at the Familiar, "Yes... but this be of my own will, not because of some opinion given me by a Familiar." She spoke this perhaps a bit more briskly than she intended, but she wanted to ensure that the new pawn knew exactly who his new master was. Evalin then turned her attention back to Grasshal, and with a wave of her hand she said, "Speak you may now, but when you leave this room you are to act as you ever have. Speak not of me, or if you must say no word of my true nature. If any ask I am the complacent slave of the Viper, and nothing more."

The Dhani rubbed his lips, working his jaw as he glared at Eva, "Whatever it is you are planning, it wont work. The Queens will kill you long before you get the chance to--" He was forced to silence once more as Evalin raised the finger to her lips once more, speaking past it, "They will know nothing of me, at least not by your lips. Your loyalties are to me now Grasshalegessh. You will come when you are summoned, and the words of my Familiar are as mine. Remember my words, and should you prove useful I will reward you greatly."

Grasshal did not look at all pleased with the arrangement, or even the promise of reward, but he could not speak in protest. He gave a simple, very curt nod, and turned to leave. Evalin smiled and offered the smallest of waves, eyes following the creature as it left through the portal to join his kin... But really, they were no kin of his any longer.

Slowly lowering her hand to grasp the bar once more, Evalin pressed her forehead against the cold iron, "More of him we must know... Let us keep an eye on him, and see if he will truly be of use. If he be more a hinderance than I shall be done with him myself."

"As my Master wishes." The Familiar floated to her other shoulder, "But mind you are not too quick to cast him aside. Hate is good in a follower of my master."

Evalin chuckled and reached up a hand to stroke the Irylid's smooth surface, "Speak you truth, but I cannot have even a single miscalculation slip through my fingers. I have been given a tool with which to use in the times to come. It shall not be wasted."
