Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

The apartment in the Windswept Condo was certainly not what most would think of as being 'homey'. In fact it was rather sparse and down right Spartan. There were no rugs, no real decorations unless you counted the wooden dummy that was used for unarmed combat training in the middle of the living area. There was a table with two chairs, the standard kitchenette with the wood stove and a cupboard. A counter that held the drawers that he kept the few utensils that he had in.

The four hundred square foot apartment included really only one bedroom, however Favchean had pulled a bedroll out into the living area for himself until he managed to go and buy another bed. Presumably the bedroom would be free for Lyn'nice to take over. Favchean himself was a little nervous, and wondered for about the millionth time what he should do to make the apartment a little more comfortable for a female. He supposed if he had told his parents that he was taking on a Nakivak his mother would have came over to make his apartment more comfortable. However he hadn't yet, figuring he would let Lyn'nice do what she needed to make it nice for her.

Of course he intended on telling his parents within the next couple of days, it would not do to not tell them. But that was for another day. For now the large green Akalak sat in the chair at the table, waiting for the silvery Konti to get there, wondering suddenly again if perhaps he should have some water drawn for her.

Lyn'nice approached the condos slowly, looking around at the new views and sights. She had gotten slightly lost along the way, not that she'd tell Favchean she did. Looking down the row of houses, she began checking house numbers or the occupants name. There! That's his house. Do I knock? Yeah, I should knock... Okay! How do I look? Lyn'nice looked around for a reflective surface, a window did the trick. After adjusting her scarf which she had chosen to wear in her hair and brushing away a stray eyelash, she was ready.

Lyn'nice walked up to the condo's door and softly knocked. She looked around at the yard in an attempt to find the potential of the soil. Setting down her bag with her few belongings,Lyn'nice began digging through the snow until she hit dirt. She managed to scrape up half a handful of soil. Holding it up to look at it her sight kicked it. She stood there poking at the soil totally entranced. Everything, she could see everything in it's makeup and she knew what she'd grow come this spring. She laughed, it figured that they would grow here. Peonies. She brushed her forehead with her clean hand, she just couldn't keep away from her scales' floral look-a-like.

Even before she knocked Favchean knew she was there, just like he knew his Lakan was on his left hip in its sheath without looking. Yet he forced himself to stay seated until she knocked, when the soft rap occurred he rose and moved through the room to the door. Opening the door, he expected to have to look down, but what he hadn't expected was having to look so far down. Lyn'nice was sitting there digging in the snow and soil, and he couldn't help but smile.

"Good morning Lyn'nice. Dare I welcome you in, or have you found all you need?" Favchean said lightly, his clothing was still the leathers, Rosela was working on his new less functional apparel but for now it was his favorite leathers that he wore. "Come on in," He offered with a wave of his hand, opening the door widely for her to enter. He waited while she did before closing the door behind her, then putting his hands in the pockets of his breeches self consciously.

"It's not much. But if you let me know what you need I will make sure you have it.." Favchean said in a hurry, "I put a bedroll out here for me..You can have the bedroom." For the first time in his life Favchean wished that he had thought more about comfort then functionality. It seemed to him if she was going to give him a child then he could at least try and make her as comfortable as possible.

Lyn'nice looked up and gave an embarrassed smile, "Heya, I kinda got carried away here... Digging a hole in your yard." She brushed the dirt off her hand, stood up, grabbed her bag and headed inside. Looking around the house she noticed it was sparse, but up until this point in his life Favchean had lived alone and trained. He had no need for comfort or frills and Lyn'nice understood that.

She frowned at Favchean, "You're going to sleep in a bed roll?! That's gonna kill your back. It will give you kinks everywhere. Lyn'nice sighed and shook her head,"The first time you get a tinge in your back let me know and I fix it," She flashed her healers mark, "In fact if I find a scratch on you that you haven't told me about I'll be mad. You get in a fight come see me right after and I'll fix you up the best I can. Okay? You know, otherwise I'll worry."

"Now give me the grand tour and introduce me to your friend here," she motioned to the dummy. "Don't worry I don't own much." She set a bundle on the table and unwrapped it, "These are the only things of importance I own besides this scarf." Within the bundle was a series of books, at the one end the books had yellowed and warped while the ones on the other end looked newer. "Journals you see, stared by Great Gram and passed down through the family line. All from their days as Nakivaks, I enjoy their stories and I hope to add to them."

The large man shrugged, one brow raising over one eye at her words on the bedroll and healing him over every little scratch. "Now Lyn'nice, I am an Akalak. We spar, and we go all out. I can't be expected to run home to be healed every time I get a bruise." He gave her a grin to try and soften his words. It was not in his nature to worry about small wounds, and if he started who knows how soft he might get. "However, I promise at night you can .." He waved his hand toward her gnosis marks. "Do whatever you feel like you need to."

He moved about ten feet to the left, near the wood stove and cupboard, "This.. is the kitchen, " He moved another twenty feet, this time to the right, near the fire place. "This is the living room." By now he was grinning at her. His apartment was small, he was going to have to also look at buying a larger space, especially if Lyn'nice conceives sooner rather then later. "This door here goes out to the garden. Its one of the uh rules of these places to keep the gardens up.. I do what I can." He opened the doors to the outside. It was winter so the gardens were sparse, but it is plainly obvious that his type of gardening was bushes.. and more bushes. It wasn't messy or unkempt, it just lacked imagination.

Once he closed the door against he cold air, he moved to the third and final door, "Here is the bedroom." Favchean opened the door, revealing a medium sized room with a window that faced the garden. The bed was a comfortable full size, nothing overly large but large enough for his large body, so should be quite sizable for her's. There was a chest of drawers on one wall, and small end table beside the bed with a candle holder made of copper.

Lyn'nice walked into the bedroom surveying it. "Ooooh, I like it!" She slid off her shoes, and mentally chided herself for not removing them at the door. She climbed onto the bed and crawled to the middle and laid down. She looked at Favchean and laughed, "I must look like a toddler in their parents double bed!" She crawled to the edge and slid down, moving to look at the dresser,"Which drawer do you want me to take?"

All in all it was a nice room. A few nick-knacks here and there, some personal touches and it would be downright homey. She went to fetch her bag and books to start unpacking. She lined up the journals along the top of the dresser except for one that she placed on the bedside table along with a comb, brush, and a bar of soap. She kept her eating utensils and other traveling items in her bag, and that was it. Putting a few extra folded garments on the bed, she had unpacked all she really owned.

Favchean smiled when she scampered onto the bed, her enthusiasm hard not to enjoy. He did wonder a little at what she though of the gardens since she had seemed so interested in gardening, but she had showed no signs that she thought they were horrid or if she was pleased. "You can have all of the drawers that you need. If you have any that you don't use I will use it. If not I don't have much."

Favchean left her to her settling her stuff into place and moved into the living area trying to make a little survey of what all he needed to get. The simple chair that he used to eat in was what he also used to sit and relax in. However most would not consider it a relaxing chair. So perhaps a chair or something along those lines. He scratched his head in thought, "Just uh let me know if you think you need something that is not here."

He also noticed that she rarely stuck with a conversation. The most recent example was her admonishing him to tell her about any scratches. It seemed that she forgot all about that train of thought immediately after it left her lips. It would take some getting used to, and he had the thought that it was almost like conversing with a humming bird. That thought made him grin.

Things seemed a little awkward now. He felt that he should offer to entertain her but, he wasn't certain what that would entail. He would go and train with the practice dummy but with her here it seemed a little rude to just ignore her so soon that she had gotten there. "Uh so I was thinking, " His voice still the incredibly deep bass but raised so that she could hear from her room. "I probably need to tell my parents that I contracted a Nakivak. I didn't uh.. know if you wanted to come with me to meet them."

"Yeah, I'll just need one drawer. I honestly don't own much and what I do own..." She made a face to herself. Looking around the room she had some ideas of how to decorate. She was making mental notes on how to make this house a home, a child would be raised here. An odd thought struck her, what if... No she pushed the thought from her mind. As nice as it would be it was unlikely.

"Huh?" Lyn'nice's head popped out of the doorway, "Sure, I'll come along, if you think they'd like to meet me." She came out into the main room, "Do I look presentable?" Finding a good reflection in a window she began to fuss over her hair and clothes mumbling to herself every so often. Lyn'nice took the scarf from her hair and tied it around her neck like Chealvan had the day he gave it to her. Her focus turned to her hair and she ran back to the bedroom returning with her comb. She seemed to calm down as she combed her hair to the point where she began to hum to herself. Turning to Favchean and flashing a smile she asked, "How do I look? Good enough to meet your mother?"

He tried to get her attention, tried to interject but she was so much like a busy bee that he couldn't quite stop her or explain. By the time he realized that he had apparently led her to believe that they were going to go now it was too late to stop her from preparing herself in such a quick fashion.

"Oh, I was thinking that perhaps we would go over for dinner at their house sometime this week. I know that Mother would love to meet you, they have been pestering me for grandchildren for a few years now." He smiled and gestured to the chair that he had vacated. "Have a seat. Perhaps I will fix us lunch and we can talk while I do?"

He moved to the 'kitchen' area, his plans for lunch being simple and easy. The oceans was cold this time of year but there was still something that still lived and did not migrate to warmer waters. Clams, he hoped that they were seafood enough to satisfy her love of the salty creatures. He grabbed the bucket that he had carried them home in. A friend's Nakivak had gone fishing for them the other day and given him a bucket of the creatures.

He pulled out a handful and with his dagger's flat edge he slipped it into the clam's shell and pried it open. Then he deftly slid the muscle that was within onto a plate. One down and about forty more to go. "I am good with waiting for a few days to begin exercising my right as your Talvis. However after that, given that it is a practice of patience for conception I will insist on daily visits until conception is confirmed." His hands continued to slice open the shells and slide the muscle until there was a good pile. He then picked the plate up and carried it to sit in front of her. "Eat up." He said, before returning to the kitchen to begin cleaning his mess.

"No, you sit down and eat with me and I'll help clean up the mess." Lyn'nice had a feeling Favchean wouldn't listen and let her help with clean up. She rested her chin on her fist and forked a clam into her mouth as she watched the Akalak. She ate about four more, before getting up and beginning to help him. She worked silently avoiding his gaze.

She waited for a bit before speaking, "I'm going to go shopping tomorrow. I have some money of my own which I am going to spend. There are some...frivolous things I wish to look at. I'll try to be home early, maybe pick up some dinner." Lyn'nice didn't look at Favchean as she spoke about this. Two extra hands made quicker work and soon the work was done. "Now, let's eat." She said looking at the man with a large grin. Fight fire with fire, or in this case stubborn with stubborn.

She sat back down, "As for the daily visits, I keep track of the moon and tide cycle. Meaning I know when these visits may be most successful and when that time gap is present you should double your visits." She ate a clam,"For best results."
