"Sera, may I ask you a question?" Sera Natasha turned to look at her Squire, she was in her full plate armor. Sitting on a bench in the Stone Gardens, before the question came she was contemplating the many members they had lost in the name for peace, in the name for order...in Sylir's name.

" Yes Kreig? What is it you wish to ask?" It was uncommon for Kreig to come to her with questions. He had his own views of justice, his own views of what makes a person good... She respected, truly she did. But she at the same time she thought them unfitting for a knight, when there is a crime it must be punished.... where an act of evil is made it must be eradicated. All in all though, she thought of Kreig as a kind soul if naive and she was glad to be his teacher, for better or for worse.

Kreig respected his Sera, they got along often enough but he was not blind to the fact their methods was different, he supposed it was simply a reality, a cost of free will. He knew that, not everyone could have a unified opinion. Even the Knighthood with its militant approach and discipline had slight differences amongst its ranks. He scratched the back of his head and adjusted his wide brim hat "Sera, why do you worship Yahal?" He felt it was a stupid question, but he had to ask. He knew so little of the gods that the order worshiped; the ones they believed fell in line with the principles of their dead god Sylir. Of course, Sylir was no longer dead, or to be more accurate; his name had been reborn. Kreig didn't know that of course, along with so many he remained ignorant to the events that caused such a rebirth.

Natasha looked at him, her brow raised, she knew Kreig to be a worshipper of Dira, one who believed that death was an absolute fact of life... Death didn't come for lives for the most part; it waited till the natural lifespan of those it supposedly hunted ended or when something came for it. Natasha knew as much, she had to if she needed to understand her squire. Still, she found herself happy she asked her of Yahal.

She looked back at the rows of small stones that earned the garden its name, as if trying to think up the words to say to her Squire "Yahal is the god of purity and faithfulness, Kreig. I worship him to cleanse my own soul of any corruption" She said simply. There was a long before she decided to continue "So many of us fall easy to corruption in life, the whispers of dark gods seek to lead us astray. Their words sweet like honey but made from the vilest of intent, Yahal seeks to strengthen our resolve and keeps us on the path."

"What is Yahal like?" Came another question, she motioned for him to sit beside her. The brawler did so awkwardly, her words were strange... they made sense, but the way she said it made him uneasy ' A god of purity, eh? surely he must find me a brute' Kreig thought dejectedly, wondering if such a god would reject him for his lust for combat.

"Yahal is like a father, Kreig. Those who worship him find themselves treated as his sons and daughters. One of the things he praises is selflessness, those who would place the need of others over their own" She then looked at Kreig, who seemed to be looking far into some imaginary distance. She knew Kreig to be such a selfless sort, Ser Wade confirmed her belief during one of their occasional group prayers " He used to be a faithful friend of Sylir before the god of peace's death, opposing the influences of Rhysol and all other dark gods. Even now he acts to combat them, and as one our patron gods we appreciate the protection and shown us and wish to emulate him"

"...I see" Kreig simply said, he didn't know what to say next truly. But such a god appealed him, he always wanted a father after all... having never known his own save for the tales his mother told him, and such tales were quite few.

"...Is that all Kreig?"
She asked him, his face showing her that he was deep in thought.

"Ah, yes Sira....thank you for indulging my curiosity"

"My pleasure. If you wish to learn more about him, don't be afraid to ask me or Ser Wade at any time. We will be happy to tell you more" She told him as she rose up from the bench and bid the brawler farewell, making her way back to the training grounds to sharpen her skill.

Kreig stayed at the Stone Gardens, his eyes surveying the cobbled stones. He raised his head to the sky, the Gardens being one of the few places in the city to have an open roof "Dira, would it disloyal of me to worship another when I already have you?" He waited a bit, hoping for an answer. Dira was his only god in this life, his worship of her eased his guilt of all the lives he killed, save for few. Death happened at any time after all, he expected those he killed accidentally in a fight both agreed to to know and of those who came for his life to know that.

But he felt his will feeble when it came to other matters, would a god like Yahal keep his blood lust in check? Would this god mind him indulging in combat as long as it didn't merit death or unnecessary injury? He had no answers to that question currently and he did not wish to ask Sera Natasha nor Ser Wade of that, fearful that they would confirm his fear.

But he would attempt to worship the god, feeling that it may be best for him. For others because he wished the best for them and for himself so he can continue to do the best for others. Kreig looked up to the sky again, his eyes filled with resolve to give this a shot.

"Yahal, I hope you may watch me over as a son... for I may be a bit of a problem child."
