Oooh, you got your EP? Did you get your mystery box yet? I'm waiting on that for my valentine's day mani, but if it doesn't come on time (what with snowmaggedon on its way to the east coast) I'm considering giving Happi another go.

Yep, I got it and loved it. Do you want spoilers and pics? I already posted some for my swap news group. It's nice being in WA cause you get things a day or so later. And by posting them others can decide if they want to order or not.

They also screwed up royal because I called separate to get a mystery-add on which wasn't offered when I ordered my box... which turned out to be three polishes I was just sorta meh on... and they sent me a mani box instead of the mystery add on. I called them, they said they screwed up, and told me to keep it. They asked if I still wanted my mystery-add on sent and I said lol nope.. I knew what the polishes were and I was way more excited by the screw up than the mystery add-on.

So yea... I'm happy. I ended up with the two boxes for the price of one.

Yes! Absolutely. Also, that is serious luck, right there. I got the add-on too, though I doubt they'll make the same mistake. Still, I can dream.

Nails are naked and takin' a break at the moment, but I'll be in Vegas this weekend so I will definitely have to bust out something special (not that I'm even that huge of a fan of Vegas. Oh, blasphemy, I said it.)

Hmm, favorite...it's strange, I don't seem to ever wear one more than twice. I'd have to say at the moment I'm in love with Autumn Spice, more for its prettiness than smell, though the smell is pretty awesome too. And Sally Hansen nail stickers, love! Probably going to go with them, or try out the Revlon versions this weekend (aw my god the Revlon ones are so ridiculously gorgeous in their packages). Polish wise I probably use Nail Tek III the most...haha. I know, it's lame, but I've gotten to a point where I'm actually thinking, hmm, maybe having nice naked nails would be a worthwhile endeavor.

I'm talkin' crazy now aren't I?

P.S. I think I more or less have the white with colorful mixed glitter formula down. Also, some of the glitters from TKB are not vampiric whatsoever, which is amazing. I will have to get some pics in. Get ready to guinea pig it up ladies!

Vanari- I've still got that neon for you and I can throw in some other stuff too to make it a great goodie bag. I'll send you a pic of the polishes i'd like to spruce up with either glitter or pigments and see what you think so maybe you can put me together some tiny packs to do that with. You are totally getting a Julep America from me too since I have... about three extra despite the fact I keep giving them away.

Next week is RAOK! (Random Acts of Kindness Week) so its a perfect time to mail out some swaps with extra goodies.

This is the mani one... the accident. I can't believe people keep accidentally sending me the wrong things and getting me deals when they do. My bestie irl says its my life luck that folks error in my favor. This one had a great selection of polish - I liked it all - and note the America with Vanari's name on it. I love this hand cream so its great they sent another. The file is meh (I have a glass one from them that's a lot better) and I love the serum and top coats. It was worth way more than the mystery add on.. and I even like that hellishly bright neon orangish pink in the middle.. it looks fantastic on my nails.

Shadow, primer, BROWN mascara - love brown! - three shades of polish... liked the orange too in this one as well. Oh look, another America. I wish this box had a bit more in it. I really wanted the shadow pencils or an eye sheen or maybe a liner and brush. But it was okay for the price. I don't think it was worth the $75 they claimed. I do love the eyeshadows though, and have a pallet already that I use a great deal, so I'm really glad to have a spare.

The surprise though??

This polish was soooo pretty. Its transparent though so you need underware to show it off. I've swatched it over black, blue, pinks, etc.. and its amazing. I was soo happy with this flakie.

Oh Vanari-

The dollar store had a ton of these really pretty Revlon Nail Stickers.. tatttos? They were beautiful elegant scrollworks, flowers, looked like stamps etc... a dollar a pack. I almost fainted when I saw they retailed online for anywere from $5-$9 a pack. I think they are destocking an dliquidating them all over the US. I love them but I can't use them really. They won't stick to my nails or my polish and the trimming to fit my nail beds drives me batty. Any tips?

That flakie indeed. When I saw it on their site I almost did an impulse buy right then and there, but coincidentally I was also trying to purchase a bunch of books on a different tab...and, alas, I had to pass it by for the time being. Flakies of that level of epic pinkness seem rare though. Does the pinkness actually affect base colors?

Yes! Those are the ones, and holy moly what a deal. Though, I suppose if they aren't doing what they're supposed to do that would make sense I haven't tried them yet so I have no idea how to address the problem for these in particular, though I've had experiences before with ones that just plain don't stick, no matter how pretty they are. I was thinking maybe heating them up a bit might help? I will have to try this week and see what can be done. Maybe they really are too good to be true >_<

If all else fails I shall turn them into jewelry lol.

Mani of the Day

So I think I can finally answer your questions Jen! My theory is that the dollar ones were dried up/faulty, because the ones I got from the drugstore stayed on just fine, even on top of base coat and polish. As for trimming, you could go about it two ways: one, just slap em on and trim with a nail clipper (you can lift the edges, trim, then press them back down without issues. The little plastic stick they provide is nice for pressing wrinkles and edges). Or, two, you can do it the perfectionist's way and trace on the back of the plastic the shape of your nail before you cut them out. I went with the first and it was a little dicey in the beginning, but I got better and finished without major issues. I then proceeded to do my friend's nails with the leftovers and it was even easier.

Verdict: love them! They're so crazy gorgeous irl. I am itching to try more now, and I definitely need some backups.

Phew..so last week was a bit crazy on my end. But I'm still down to swap with you guys, whenever, where ever! I FINALLY moved all of my stash from home, as well as picked up my gas mask, so I should have a lot of stuff to swap and a few multichrome frankens too, hopefully

It was a crazy week for me too. We had an Enchanted Buy on Sunday, this time the window was only open for a half hour. Maven stuff is going on. I skipped this month because I hated the polish - lol - or I have too much. I can't decide. I did score some really good deals on ebay and picked up new Valerie and Apple Zoyas for under two bucks a piece. I'm also trading with a buddy online for some Max Factor Fantasy fire.. which is a reported BETTER than original dupe for Unicorn Pee if you know what that is. She evidently had a friend go to Scotland for the summer and she shipped her back like ten bottles. Whoot. Makes me eyeball Skerry a bit don't it? If Scotland has it surely Ireland has it too.

Basically what I want, Vanari, is enough glitter or pigment to recolor some of these neutrals I have in juleps.. most were freebies but they aren't colors I'd wear... they have tan tones or are just plain white. They aren't full sized standard bottles either.. Juleps are like .24 or something.. and i'm not sure if they will take glitter because they aren't a glitter base.. but I'm not opposed to shaking the heck out of them if they do need it just because the glitter won't suspend.

So... want pictures of what I need to recolor? I probably can't ship out for another week or two because I'm low on cash due to making a double mortgage payment this month to get on a special program my mortgage company allows which cuts off about ten years of payments at the end of your mortgage for just making smaller payments throughout the month rather than huge compounded payments at the end... something about the interest or something.. so we're skimping and saving to pay ahead to get on that. Its rough but I'm determined.

So we have time.. I was just curious if it was possible!
