This is Falyndar at its finest. Danger lurks everywhere - in the ground, in the trees, in the bush. Only the strongest survive...

Naps Interrupted (Sheika)

OOCI'm an awful person, and I'm sorry. :( Don't hate me? :/ I know it's over a month over due... Again, sorrysorrysorry. Winter break is here and I am free from the clutches of school, work and training. Feel free to yell at me if you see fit. Also, sorry for the relatively crappy post. Hope you're having lovely holidays!

The woman nodded slightly, at least he was trying. Zuzana would give him credit where credit was due, and it certainly seemed as though he had been… Practicing for lack of a better word. The Kelvic’s questions about deaf spirits were soon answered. “They do not speak the same tongue.” The answer was simple enough for the tiger to understand. Another small nod was awarded to the strange man as he continued to explain spirits.

“But if you die, then they do cannot feel life anymore. Isn’t it foolish to drag you into the jungle and get you killed?” Zuzana paused a moment before shaking her head, she figured this one out on her own. “It was jealous, if it cannot have life, neither can you.” A small, strange laugh left her as she shook her head slightly.

A toothy grin crossed Zuzana’s face as Sheika appeared slightly on edge. The woman found the name “Young Tigress” better than being a ‘girl’, sure it was simply a way to indentify gender, but the Kelvic was touchy on such matters. Zuzana blinked as Sheika spoke, his words were of the same language, but the phrases were foreign and confusing to the Tiger. “You wish to learn, but do not?” Zuzana made a slight growl. “You make little sense, but I should have figured that from the start. Myrians are confusing, but you are far more complex than any other I have met.” A flash of a smile passed over her before she moved on.

“A fish? You might owe me more than one if you intend to live... I could kill you, eat you, take your belongs and buy many more fish.” Humor. Dark humor, but humor nonetheless, the Tiger seemed relaxed, it was doubtful she would lash out in any manner at this man. She was far too intrigued with who he was.

There was an awkward paused from the Tiger once the name “Myri” was said. Zuzana knew little of the religion on the Myrians, and that was something the creature wished to know. After all, Zuzana wanted to be accepted by those people, how could she if she did not know their Goddess? “Myri?” The name came out almost like a purr of intrigue.

While Sheika’s tone was strange, the Kelvic knew little of vocal clues let alone proper attire, she did not notice the way he spoke about his Mother or other deaths of Myrians. Zuzana walked over decaying leaves, dirt, and other Jungle debris which crunched under her feet, a sharp sound to break the chatter from the trees.

“Alone, alone, alone.” A firm expression remained on Zuzana’s face, creases crossed from her lips downward. “It seems you have the patience to explain yourself to me. Perhaps your grudge lies with your fellow Myrians?” Golden eyes remained on the Jungle before the two of them. “But, it could just be that you’re worried I might have a taste for strange Myrian men.” Zuzana’s eyes flicked to Sheika for a moment, a sideways smirk carelessly directed at the witch doctor.

“Tell me about your father,” Zuzana said as she stepped on a small branch. “He was smart, like you?” The Kelvics question was partly to keep her amused on the escort mission, but also to fill more of the curiousity. Zuzana had no father, at least none she knew of. Sheika had a father, what was a father? What did they do? “Did he love you?”

Naps Interrupted (Sheika)

OOCI love you too much to ever hate you. :P

Sheika nodded slowly as Zuzana theorized about the spirits. What she said made sense, the spirits, if they wanted a taste of life and got that from Sheika, shouldn't have desired to kill him off. Sheika was forced to ponder about this for several moments. That point seemed solid, too strong to ignore. If he brought them something they wanted why would they try to kill him? Or, did they even try to? Sheika grinned lightly, as his own theory on the subject came to him, but he held his tongue as Zuzana spoke again.

Jealousy, Sheika has had his fair share of jealousy, and can't claim to have ever been the victim of being jealous of. He was very little of what a Myrian wanted. He was not incredibly agile, no supreme hunter, there wasn't even any considerable skills in combat he could claim as his own. But he was curious. He liked being curious. "Perhaps the spirit did want Sheika dead. Sheika believes that it did not wish Sheika dead, but to use Sheika for something and did not know of the jungle dangers. Sheika may be wrong, but Sheika thinks that." Sheika cocked his head to the side so that he could glance at the Myrian Tigress following him, and even though her skin was as smooth and hairless as a human, he still wanted to spend enough time to learn about the kelvic. Curiosity, it was dangerous indeed.

Sheika nodded. "Sheika loves to learn, craves to learn. Sheika wants to learn more than Sheika wants to fight or kill or hunt or... or... Yes, Sheika wants to learn, but Myrians are not so kind to a Learning Myrian. Myrians are warriors, Sheika, is not." There was a blend of shame and self-respect in the same sentence. He was proud to be scholarly, he loved it too much perhaps, yet just not having a place in Taloba, not really fitting in, it had its toll as well. Everyone craved connections with somebody, Sheika, since his parents died, lacked just such a connection. "Sheika cannot learn much in Taloba. Many things there are already learned. Sheika must... must discover something. Sheika wants to learn from other lands..." Sheika tried to explain that what he wanted to know, could not be found in Falyndar. He wanted knowledge on so many things, and he already knew so much about Taloba and Falyndar, being born and raised there, that very little really intrigued him. Yet there still was that strong hunger for knowledge. "Sheika is complex? Fair enough. Sheika wishes to understand such things, Sheika must fit the role?" Sheika grinned to himself. Taloba wasn't far now, and though he wanted to stop and just talk with the Myrian Tigress, he dared not.

She wanted fish after all.

Perhaps Sheika could win her trust through her stomach? Sheika chuckled at the thought, it was worth a shot. If he could win her trust, then perhaps he could win a chance to study the female Tigress, the nature of the Kelvic, the Human, and the Beast. Three is one, it was too good of a teasing thought to ignore. "Perhaps many fish then. Sheika is not wealthy, but Sheika will get some."

When the conversation shifted to Sheika having a grudge on Myrians, and eventually to his father. Sheika grew silent. He wished Zuzana had not said such things, they put ideas in his head he still wished to ignore. But it was true, he loved the Myrian people as his own, because he was one of them, but they were different, single minded, and he wanted something far different than they could accept. He did not answer to her assumptions about such a thing. His opinion on the matter, he wasn't ready to hear himself say it. His father, however, brought up a hint of sorrow in the Myrian man. He stopped walking and turned around, completely facing the nude womanly figure before him. He still didn't seem to be phased by the call of the physical body. "My father was misunderstood by them. My mother didn't care about him. My people didn't care about him. I alone did. This love you speak of. I know nothing of it."

Sheika stared up into the sky for a long moment, taking a breath. He hoped his oddly serious tone and shift in speech wouldn't be interpreted as anger towards Zuzana. He turned back towards Taloba and started walking again, a blanket of silence seemed to fall over him. He was thinking now, not theorizing about spirits or kelvics, but just remembering the things that he truly hated to recall.
