"I am in Sunberth on business," Edreina responded automatically, pale, slender fingers pinching a boll of wool from her cloak and flicking it away. It was a shyke answer and she knew it, but this was not her business to discuss; it involved far more people than she cared to name. Better she change the subject than allow Adriel to become offended. "But, you're right. I am from the Suvan Sea. I lived on the Anchorage Flotilla with my pod for many years before starting off on my own..." A melancholy chord rumbled in the Svefra's heart as she spoke of and thought of her home, her family. Did they miss her as sparingly as she missed them? It would not have surprised her.
"How could you tell I was not from around here?" Edreina asked, more to change the subject than out of actual curiosity; she knew she did not fit the mold of Sunberth. Djed flickered to life in her eyes and instant so that he would not notice the slight drop in her demeanor, seeing only the smile she kept curving her lips ever so slightly and, hopefully, taking it at face value.
