Again, a good portion of the man's talk was lost to Eldon, simply because of his nearly void confrontation with the Common Tongue, or at least enough to understand and grasp. He would learn it though, being tossed into Syliras like this, he had only the options to learn it or leave it behind, and he was certainly tired of traveling for now. Eldon caught the subtle command to follow Ivis, along with the fairly universal gesture that came along with it, the beckoning finger and nudging head motion. Eldon, as expected of him, followed Ivis without question or worry, despite the stone walls of the place making him feel very self-conscious of his surroundings, which were very very surrounding at that moment. For a Drykas accustomed to the open air and sea of grass beneath his feet, Syliras couldn't have been more opposite from his home.
Eldon returned each and every smile Ivis offered him, despite each one feeling fake and insincere. He assumed Ivis was also false in his smiles, but such a thing truly did not matter. It was comforting to most to have smiles rather than rigid expressions.
The Sunkiss Drykas stepped through the doors as he was called inside, leaving his new acquaintance, Ivis, behind when it closed. He silently crossed the room and took the seat. "I can work... for you." Did that come out right? Eldon wasn't sure, his hesitation and stuttering would give him away for certain, being illiterate in Common. He was no bi-linguist. "Eldon Sunkiss." |
