Bright Lights is a small but popular father-daughter run business. It sells a myriad of different kinds of candles, from your plain white cylinder, to scented and colored creations, to immaculately decorated candles. Their primary products are those made from beeswax and burn with a true flame.
The shop has a warm, homely interior. The door is made of a sturdy wood, surrounded by mortared walls. Inside, said walls are draped with orange and yellow fabrics, though are kept a safe distance away from any lit candles that may inhabit the room. In an effort to show off some of the better products, there are an unusual number of candle stands along the edges, almost every single place taken by one candle or another. Most aren't lit, as to still be able to be sold, though there are still the usual amount to provide the space with decent lighting.
Despite those on show, the bulk of the candles are stored in a back room, accessible by a discreet door that also leads to the workshop where the two entrepreneurs make the candles from scratch. Normally there is one of the two candlemakers at the front desk, ready to attend to any customers, but on occasion both are busy working hard creating more merchandise to sell. In this event, there is a small brass bell nailed onto the wooden table at the front, with a small sign instructing customers to ring it if there is no one available.
The creations sold at Bright Lights vary in many ways. Though the most common product is a basic candle, which any normal person can buy individually or in bulk for a cheap price, other things are available too. Some candles, when the wax is still liquid, have scents and colors added to them. Considering both of the candlemakers' lack in philtering, these are always purchased from the Starry Chalice. However, the most complex and expensive creation is one made only by the older craftsman. They are carved candles made by layers and layers of colored wax, and, though they may appear one color on the outside, are actually rainbows hidden inside a discreet covering. When these are still soft and malleable, the maker uses a sharp knife to carve and fold designs into the wax, displaying the colors beneath. The drips when creating these can be removed, molded, and created into something called a mushroom candle.

Umelus Brasa
Name: Umelus Brasa
Race: Human
Birthdate: 459 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and candlemaker at Bright Lights
Skills: Animal Husbandry - 31, Candlemaking - 67, Carving - 52, Organization - 27
Languages: Common (Fluent)
Umelus didn't originally start as a candle maker. During his youth, and the beginning of his adulthood, he worked on Lhavit's farms, mostly working with the animals and livestock. However, in 480 AV, at the age of 21, he fell in love with a young novice candlemaker named Cana, who was trying the art for the first time. They married, and on a whim, he tried making a few candles to please his spouse. However, he quickly discovered he had an aptitude for candlemaking, and fell in love with it. Together, he and his wife founded Bright Lights, where they could work together in their passion, and hone their skills. Soon after, they had a daughter, Clisca, then Nesion, a son. Both were taught the art their parents had worked so hard to learn.
Though Clisca joined her father and mother in working at Bright Lights, Nesion found something else he preferred, and moved into that occupation. Their lives were quite happy and successful, until the Summer of 513 AV. During the riots following the quakes, Cana was killed in one way or another. Though it hit the small family hard, they quickly recovered, and instead of being a three-worker business, Bright Lights dropped to only two candle makers.
Umelus is a quiet man, though he can be stern if needed, and will occasionally fly into a rage if provoked. However, he is generally quite friendly and polite to customers, despite being a man of few words. If asked, he will go into an intimate description of some of his creations, more particularly the carved ones. He is now quite old, with thick greying hair, and a slightly stooped posture. Other than that, he tries not to let his age get to him, and normally, it doesn't. He is as limber and skilled at his work as ever, still surpassing his daughter in quality and creativity.

Clisca Brasa
Name: Clisca Brasa
Race: Human
Birthdate: 494 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Candlemaker at Bright Lights
Gnosis: 1 mark of Zulrav (Stormwarden level 1)
Skills: Candlemaking - 47, Carving - 38, Drawing - 22
Languages: Common (Fluent)
Clisca was born in raised in a family of avid candlemakers, and quickly took to the practice to the great delight of her parents. She and her brother were incredibly close, despite Nesion's lack of interest in the family trade. However, candlemaking wasn't her only passion. She was born on a stormy day, and her family took that as a message that she would always be closer the Zulrav than most others. The young girl grew up believing this, and worshiped the god as much as any of Lhavit's other patrons, possibly more. Once she was matured, both in mind and in her love of storms in the wind, the Zulrav deemed her worthy of his mark, and she became a Stormwarden.
When Summer came around, coupled with the woman's mother's death, the Stormwarden was downtrodden. Though she'd been close to her father, her mother had always been her role model; and now that figure was gone. However, she quickly recovered...on the outside at least. She still suffers from minor depression and will occasionally break into tears, but rarely lets this show.
Personality wise, Clisca can be quite friendly when she wants to. Since the loss of her mother, she has been more reserved, but is becoming more and more accustomed to the loss every day. She rarely smiles, however, and it's considered a great accomplishment by her father to be able to crack a grin onto the woman's face. Still, she works harder than ever, and tries to put her gift to good use.
