Winter 30th 513 AV, 13th Bell
Location: Wave Guard Head Quarters; The Training Ground
Though small and unassuming the grounds held their purpose well in Ricky's opinion, with the rising sun cloaked by the clouds that cloaked Mathew's Bay high in it's venture Ricky could only imagine what Syna thought about the harsh Winter here in Zeltiva. The air felt cold to the skin and surely the breeze just waited for the chance to pick up and soak the frigid tempature into the bone. One could very well suffer Bonesnapper if they weren't carefully protected from this weather, but that's one of the few things that made a real Zeltivan such a hardy intellectual. Ricky considered himself no different as well. He actually prided in himself that such a city was his home, even if troubling times lied at the heart of such a glorious bastion. Now that he'd taken to heart the idea of training and planned himself a schedule to fit in with his work, he could no doubt be fit and ready to protect the home he worked so hard to keep safe.
Yet today wasn't the day he would train himself, rather than train another who was meant to arrive. It was under his orders for the day, instead of a patrol route he was to train a new addition to their numbers. It felt strange in a way considering he deferred to patrol routes and keeping Zeltiva secure and safe, but that part of his life had only come to pass now... he had much more serious obligations to worry on. Obligations being a literal part of the Wave Guard rather than just a man of the Guard, and to that of his family as well since he had a wife and son that waited for him at home. "Ain't got t' take all that 'eavy ass weight no more, instead me burdens can be beared wit' the Guard as well as me family." A lesson learned well after his encounter with the pirates during the summer, his near death experience only made him realize just how precious, and valuable, his friends and family were in moments of dire need.
Thus Ricky stood adorned in the azure uniform that every Wave Guard dressed in, however the silver emblem worn over his heart proved a symbol of his rank as he waited. Arms crossed and back against the wall Ricky kicked back with one foot propped on the wall while the other propped him up, and the old fisherman waited for the guardsmen he was to train with great patience. After all he felt honored to be given todays job, teaching the next generation how to follow in the footsteps of a Wave Guard... that definitely proved to make a difference in this wonderful place he called home.
