Lyn'nice stood basket in hand among the fig trees. She took her time harvesting the figs, making sure they were perfectly ripe and flawless. Which was an easy job as a Bala follower had been down this row of trees ripening almost every fruit there was. It was an easy job, they had been giving her easy jobs as she had been feeling a little weak and queasy and she had an idea of why.
She decided to take a short break as she was getting winded easily recently. Her gold Undanas glittered in the sun as she brushed a hair off her face. With a sigh she turned to a well known Orchard Constrictor she called Nancy, "They said an Akalak pregnancy would be hard... But, I'm not even a trimester in and I already feel so weak, Nancy. I'm eating my weight in shellfish and squid everyday." Lyn'nice sighed. She turned to Nancy only to find she/he had vanished in a hurry.
There was a rustle not too far from where Lyn'nice and Nancy had been laying. Cautiously Lyn'nice got to her feet and slowly made an attempt to get closer to what had scared Nancy. She had no weapon if it was someone out to do her harm, although as a Nakivak she was protected by Riverfall. She was just a tree away from whoever or whatever it was. This was it. She jumped out from behind the tree and found something she would of never expected.
"A...horse..? You're a...horse. How? Why? A horse. There is a horse in The Orchards." She approached the horse, "Easy, easy. I'm not going to hurt you." Lyn'nice ran a hand down the horses neck, "There. See? I'm nice. But this is a first finding a horse here. Just behave, ok? I've gotta get back to work."
She made her way back to her basket and began to resume her fig picking. Until a noise behind her made her jump. The horse. "I see, are you looking for company? Well, you win. You can stay, just don't eat my figs." |
