This thread has been created to keep a running collection of stories different writers have used IC and created OOC. All stories in threads must be posted in the development section and once reviewed will be placed in here as part of the traditional repertoire of Avanthalian literature. These stories can be used at any time (of course you must give the writer credit at the bottom of any post if you use their story) and have the potential to spread across Miz as Vantha who leave Avanthal take these classic stories with them.
Furthermore, these stories can be repeated in threads for Storytellers to practice their voices, gestures, etc. IC without having to write new stories each and every time. However, if your character is ONLY using stories from here instead of you taking the time to write your own you will receive fewer XP during your storytelling. You may absolutely do this, but just keep in mind that your skill will progress much more slowly.
The oral tradition of the Vantha, is a long and revered talent. They are known for their loud cacophonous hunting tales and sweet scintillating lullabies. Every Vantha child knows many tales and has often been lulled to sleep to traditional classics.
Compared to other regions storytellers the Vantha are heavily reliant on vocal acrobatics and are not prone to gesturing wildly as the Ephyrian storytellers do. They enjoy playing with words and comedies are often littered with puns. Even their lullabies can be deeply tragic and dark to outsiders but to the Vantha almost no story is dark or tragic as they all teach valuable lessons about living in the northern hemisphere.
Major underlying themes include; justice, morality, and responsibility.
They are not usually overtly moral stories but often feature people making decisions based on pride, love, etc. and falling victim to the ramifications of these bad decisions. Individuality is honoured so long as it doesn't endanger the many. Kelvics and Vantha are the most frequent races in adult stories, while childhood stories make use of many more races, some real and some not.
