Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Clover was walking through the roads of Riverfall on her way back to her little cottage. When she arrived at her cottage, she opened her chest and realized she was running low on plants and herbs. She shut her chest and went back into town. She didn't want to buy any herbs, Clover wanted fresh herbs straight from the soil, though it was the middle of Winter. She walked around town looking for someone who might know where to find a forest. Clover started to lose hope of finding the forest to find the herbs that Clover required. But soon enough, spring would come and she could find herbs easier. But Clover needed herbs now, well, at least she wanted herbs now. Then she walked towards a stranger and taped the person's shoulder,"Excuse me? Do you know where I can find the forest?" |

Lyn'nice turned toward the voice and was surprised to see a fellow Konti. After coming to Riverfall, Konti had been scarcely seen. It was unexpected as Lyn'nice knew many Konti made their way to Riverfall. But so far this woman was the first Lyn'nice had been able to speak with. It was quite a treat and reminded Lyn'nice of home. Although she couldn't really remember any other Konti in Mura that loved plants as much as she did.
She spoke up quickly, "I know a place but its less a forest of trees and more of a forest of grass. But, there is a small woodsy place it's not very big. I guess it depends on what your going out for. If you want to hunt head to that small woodsy area. But judging that you don't have a visible weapon... You must be gathering grasses and herbs. I might be able to help I have a thing for gardening and herbs too. Oh, my name is Lyn'nice by the way." She gave the woman a smile. It was a nice enough day for a stroll, that was if this fellow Konti would have Lyn'nice accompany her. She might be able to be of some help, with her gardening knowledge.
A thought crossed her mind, her Undanas. If she went just out of city bounds, would they assume she was trying to escape? No, she had volunteered plus she wouldn't be that far from the city limits and once they found the herbs they'd cease moving away. |

Clover was very cheerful to find another Konti, for she has never seen another Konti, except for her mother and herself of course. Most of the time the only reason Clover was out of her cottage was if she needed herbs. But now that she knows there are other Konti here in Riverfall, Clover will certainly be out more. Clover smiled back at Lyn'nice and spoke,"My name is Clover. Clover Na'tome." Not only was Clover happy to see another Konti and would be able to find herbs, but she would also have a new friend. "Thank you very much for your help, shall we head there now? Or are you busy, I would hate to interfere with your schedule." Clover said to Lyn'nice in a very considerate tone.

Lyn'nice laughed, "I'm fine with heading out right now. I don't really have a schedule, I'm a Nakivak you see. So as long as I return home at the end of the night and don't run away, everything's good. She flashed her gold Undanas to Clover. "See?" Lyn'nice loved to look at the gold bracelet and it's lovely ivy patterns so intricately carved in the gold.
"I'm not sure if you know this... But if you find some good herbs that can be replanted or transplanted you can rent a small garden space at Vytoria’s Conservatory. They have the best soil of anywhere in Riverfall. It's carefully tended and monitored. I almost took a job there, but I work at the Orchards in my free time but I'll be transferring soon to The Sanctuary as working the orchards will require too much heavy lifting." |

"Wow, really?" Clover said,"I didn't know there was such a place. I'm usually cooped up in my cottage making medicines. I'll be sure to visit Vytoria’s Conservatory some day." Clover cleared her throat not knowing what else to say. Clover wasn't used to talking to people, seeing that she has no friends. The only time Clover was outside, as you may recall, was for herbs. Even as a little girl Clover's dream was to become an herbalist, using her mother as inspiration. Her mother would teach Clover about different herbs and eventually Clover was able to identify herbs on her own. "Shall we go?" Clover asked.

Lyn'nice smiled, "It's about a ten minute ride to the east just on the fringe of Riverfall. Mainly the healers of the city use the observatory to obtain herbs from a controlled environment. They also sell plants and herbs there too. Ingredients, to gardening, to laboratory services, you can get all of that there. It's really a central place for gardeners and healers." A question came to Lyn'nice's mind, "Hey Clover, I just thought to ask this but you deal in herbs... Are you marked by either of the Mura goddess'? I have one from Rak'keli, and I just wondered if that's why you like herbs. Oh, I forgot to mention renting a 10x10 garden space costs 20gm a season. Extra for lab use."
Lyn'nice smiled and nodded, "Sure, let's get headed on our way. We can talk more on herbs as we walk." It was strange Lyn'nice had never really had many Konti friends in Mura. They all seemed so sullen with their 'sights'. But Clover was different and they shared interests. She was happy to meet this Konti and hoped that they'd be friends for a long time. Heck, for all Lyn'nice knew they could be distant cousins! And Clover was one Konti Lyn'nice wouldn't mind being related to. She didn't have the solemn outlook on life that so many Konti had. |

Clover and Lyn'nice began to walk. "To answer your question, I wasn't born in Mura. I was born right here in Riverfall." Clover said,"I'm not marked by any goddess. My mother taught me about herbalism when I was a little girl. She taught me how to make medicines from the herbs. Maybe that's why I've grown so attached to herbs. I was actually thinking of starting a herbalist business." Clover decided to change the subject from herself to Lyn'nice,"What about you?" Clover wanted to keep their conversation going, it's the first time she's communicated with somebody like this. She was enjoying their chat.

"Well being born in Mura, though conceived in Riverfall..." Lyn'nice felt comfortable adding in. "I was exposed to Vision Water all my life, and so I gained my sight, and it's an odd one. I see dirt. But not like you do, I can tell what's wrong with it, how to fix it, or simply see what would grow best there. So in a strange way... I talk to dirt and plants. I find it all to be an ongoing joke with my life." Lyn'nice lifted her bangs revealing her odd pattern of scales, "It looks like half of a peony blossom, doesn't it? I've never seen another Konti with a pattern like this... And it's only on my forehead! Everywhere else, normal scales. So I guess it's like a birthmark that just so happened to hint at the rest of my life."
My family tended a lot of herbs and plants in Mura and by family I mean my Greatgrands, my Grandma, my mom and a few cousins and aunts. Funny part of my family is my Great Grandfather, big blue Akalak surrounded by tiny pale Konti. You can see him a mile away! But I tended the gardens and any wild plant I wanted. Growing up I felt more a kinship with plants over people, plus I was too bubbly for Mura. It's too calm there. Too peaceful. I didn't like it."
"A herbalist's shop, I like the sound of that we could use one." Lyn'nice nodded to herself, "I know I'd frequent there even if it was just to chat with you. Let me know if I can be of any help to you. I'm better at growing things then mixing them though."She smiled at Clover." Oh, I do know how to read tea leaves as well! not that it has anything with herbalism." Lyn'nice gave Clover a shrug. "Just thought I add it for good measure." |

"Wow," Clover thought to herself,"Lyn'nice and I have much in common."
"That's an amazing gift Lyn'nice."
"I think having a unique pattern of scales is pretty nice. My scales are hardly ever shown because I only have scales on my stomach and back."
"My step-father is an Akalak named Koto, I haven't seen him in about 3 or 4 years though. My actual father was a human, but he died before I was born, I'm not sure what from. They were going to raise me in Mura like many other Konti, but my mother made up here mind and went all the way back to Riverfall. Then I was born a couple months later, then she met Koto. They had a child, my half-sister La'Saya. But she wasn't full Konti. She was an Akontak, one of the few ones in the world. I was there for her birth, but I never saw her again, I believe she's 2 years of age now. I plan to meet her soon."
Clover smiled,"That's neat, fortune telling. Maybe one day you can give me a reading." She stopped in her footsteps and noticed some trees and grasses. "I think we arrived." |

"I don't know if it's amazing. Unique maybe. But, amazing... That might be a bit of a stretch." Lyn'nice laughed to herself.
"My gram always called me Petalhead and pretty soon everyone was calling me that! Do you have any idea how embarassing that was?"She shook her head, "Feel free to call me Lynnie, that nickname I don't mind."
Lyn'nice smiled, "Aww, I hope your meeting with her goes well! You know pretty soon I should be expecting," She flashed her gold Undanas, "Perhaps, when they come into the world... I could introduce you as Auntie Clover? We're so similar I doubt this we be the only time we go herb hunting, or meet for lunch, or anything like that. I might be a little rusty on my fortune telling. I should start practicing..."
Lyn'nice stopped along side Clover, "I agree, this place looks good. But give me a tick to check." She bent down a dug a hole in the snow down to the dirt and pulled up a clump of the soil. Taking it in her hand she broke apart the clump. Putting the dirt back Lyn'nice repeated the process a few more times in different areas. Once satisfied with her samples, she stood up and turned to Clover, "This area over here, the soil's better." She gestured to an area further to the right. |
