Nevar’s Tower is located on the lowest tier of the city, and while it is not as tall as the religious towers throughout the city, its architecture is a testament to beautiful modesty. The Chivans are not a boastful family, and so their home is more understated than one may expect from the leader of the city.
The uppermost tower is Nevar and Sava’s personal quarters, modestly decorated like the rest of the tower. There are several guest bedrooms throughout the tower, for visiting dignitaries and respected guests of the city. It is an enormous privilege to be welcomed to one of these rooms, and few of Riverfall’s citizenry have seen inside them. The beds are the most luxurious items in each room, as the Chivan’s insist any guest of theirs must find a good night’s rest under their roof.
There is a small reticule of paid servants in the employ of the household, to maintain both the rooms and the façade of the building. Servant rooms are at the second level of the tower, below the guest bedrooms. The first floor of the tower is made up by the kitchen, large dining room, two lounges, and a large library. On the rare occasion that the Chivans will personally entertain guests, it will take place in one of the two lounges. The library is rarely seen by anyone not personally invited there, and while it may be considered small compared to the Valkalah Library and the Raven’s Perch, it is well stocked with books on a variety of skills, concentrating in political theory and discourse.
The bottom level is half storage, half Charoda-friendly meeting place. This room is connected to the open water through an underground tunnel. Despite being underground, care is still taken to keep it as immaculate as the rest of the tower.
While there’s no law against unscheduled callers, and neither Nevar nor Sava would turn away a visitor, there is an unspoken protocol of making an appointment with one of them or their staff while they are out and about. Scheduled visitors will find themselves warmly welcomed, usually by Sava, and invited to stay the night should a meeting run late into the night.
