Wakey wakey!(Meville)

Postby Minosayaa on February 7th, 2014, 2:31 am

13th of Winter 513AV

Minosayaa had woken up extra early today. Why? Because she had decided to visit her buddy Meville. She stretched her body and gave her fur a good shake and headed on her way. Mino found it easier to get around the holds on four legs , she was able to take shortcuts under tables and other spaces an average human couldn't fit under without getting chastised. She also moved faster in this form. She made her way away from the hold and towards the warrens.

Mino hummed in her head. She deemed it her theme song. Bum Ba Da Bum Be Bum Ba Di Dum Di Do DAA! She ended her song by jumping into a snow bank. Pouncing out of the snow bank she upped her pace.

Arriving at the Warrens Mino eyed the door handle. Too easy! Getting on her back legs she used her mouth to open the door. She didn't bother to close the door after getting inside. Putting her nose to the floor she sought out Meville's scent.Aha! Gotcha! Mino made her way through the warrens her nose leading the way. She encountered a few early risers and recived from one a scratch behind the ears before making tracks. Her nose led her to a door, behind which held a strong smell of Meville. Looking at the symbols on the door she was very pleasedTwo people and mountains! This door had a knob instead of a handle. Mino looked around making sure she was alone. When she deemed it safe she shifted.

Now in her two legged form she quickly and quietly opened the door, closing it quietly behind her. It looked like a living room of sorts. She moved around the room quietly investigating anything and everything. Her eyes finally spied a door walking on the pads of her feet she went to open it and peeked in.

She saw a dresser and was tempted to go through it, maybe later she decided. Mino next made her way to a desk, it looked unused. She took notice of a book from it's smell it was old and had belonged to someone prior to Meville. Moving to the bed Mino found her quarry still asleep under a mass of furs and blankets. Deciding to sit on the floor by the bed, Mino laid her head down on the bed's edge next to Meville's. She stayed like that for awhile until the urge to pet his hair took over.

She sat there with her head on the bed petting the man's head.
If there is rain tomorrow
I wonder where you will take me.
Surely if I'm with you
That alone will make me happy.

Wakey wakey!(Meville)

It had been a very long night. Meville had meant to spend the majority of it practicing his projection, however he'd been feeling weak all day and hadn't been able to muster up much strength for it. So instead, he'd spent much of it singing to himself and occasionally doing push-ups when his body stopped shaking. He'd taken to training his body some, in preparation for his quest with Lorelle, but it also meant he had more and more weaker days than usual. And, with that weakness, also came weariness. With weariness came the tendency to forget menial things such as locking doors at night.

Having barely removed his clothes and thrown himself into his nest of a bed, Meville had passed out the moment his head had touched his pillow. A dreamless slumber had ensued, pulling him into the tender darkness of unconsciousness as his body did its best to recover from the day it had just suffered. In his complete and utter removal from the waking world, Meville had heard neither breath nor step of the young girl who quietly investigated his living quarters. It was only after a solid chime that Meville's eyes sleepily stirred, blinking in a happy daze before they noticed the familiar face of Mino staring back.

With a loud yelp, Meville jerked back from her face, tumbling to the floor in a mess of blankets and firs, landing upon the wooden floor with a heavy thud. Letting a muffled moan, Meville struggled in the mess to free his head from his blankets, gasping as he managed to disentangle himself enough to breathe in the chilly morning air. "
Whatintheworld-" Managing to extricate an arm out of his blankets as well, Meville groped along the edge of his bed, slowly pulling himself up to his knees so he could stare across at the naked girl on the other side.

"
How did you... Why are you... What is...?" Utterly flustered, Meville could only continue blinking, his mouth stumbling over the syllables of his Common. Letting his face fall flat onto his bed's mattress, Meville mumbled into it. "Good morning, Mino." An air of complete defeat hovering about him.

Wakey wakey!(Meville)

Mino watched the chaos unfold in front of her. She had been worried by the thump Meville had made but as he struggled to free himself and succeeded. She assumed he was fine,"Good Morning to you too Meville!" She shifted how she was sitting, "How I got in? I opened the door. Why am I naked or here? I came on four legs and I came to visit you. As for your, what is question I don't know. Were you surprised to see me? I was super quiet when I explored the main room! I didn't go through anything in this room yet though!" She giggled happily.

Mino climbed up onto the bed and crawled over to where Meville lay defeated, "Oh, come on! Get up off the floor! Here," Mino held out her hand to help Meville. But as he continued to lay there, she made the decision to pull him back onto his bed. With both arms she grabbed one of his arms and pulled with all her might. "Come on! You'll catch a cold being on the floor!"

She grumbled and gave up on moving Meville and instead flopped onto his bed, "Why do you have such a big bed? Mine's small and I roll off it all the time your bed is softer too. I want your bed, I wouldn't fall out of this!" She snuggled comfortably on the bed."You were right about the symbols two people and mountains." She turned toward Meville noticing something new about him. She scooted closer and with a finger she traced her newest discovery, strange lines that were on Meville's shoulders. They didn't look like the symbols used in Common. She tried to figure the lines out in her head by tracing the lines."Strange looking." She climbed out of the bed and behind Meville following these strange marks.
If there is rain tomorrow
I wonder where you will take me.

That alone will make me happy.

As undaunted by anything as he remembered her, Mino merrily began to answer his poorly phrased questions to the best of his abilities. Over the course of her explanation, Meville slowly slid back down to the floor, his muscles and mind not quite ready to start the day just yet. Had it been anyone but Mino, he would have been at the very least worried. She was, as far as things went, about the most harmless thing he knew. Thus, as she gave him her practical answers, Meville just nodded, rubbing his eyes with the back of his knuckles, mumbling unintelligible phrases here and there.

He had just started to drift back to sleep with the girl's chilly hands gripped his own cooling arm and began to tug. "
Mrgbfl..." Too tired and disoriented to pull back, Meville just allowed the natural weight of his limp body to eventual emerge the victor of the little battle, his arm landing with a smack against his chest. The sudden sensation of being struck sparked his eyes open wide for a moment as he let out a half cough before moaning quietly and rolling to his stomach, pressing his face into the furs.

Mino continued to speak, this time about the wonderful qualities of his bed. Mumbling into the fur, Meville absentmindedly muttered, "
Mebbe y'can use it now... Mrelg..." It seemed, for the time being, Mino had contented herself to lying in his bed, while he took the floor. Not necessarily the holder of the better half of the deal, Meville still found the situation pleasing enough, as she'd stop chattering and he could now resume his sleep. Or so he thought.

There was a slight tickling sensation as Mino muttered something about something looking strange. It wasn't until she scooted off the bed to sit behind him and run her fingers over his glyphed skin that Meville finally acquiesced to her demands, rolling over and regarding her with a sleepy half-grin. "
You're a menace, you know that?" He pushed her back some with his head, rubbing his disheveled hair against her cheek and tickling her nose. Once some space had been established between them, Meville sat up, tossing a smaller fur at Mino and wrapping the remaining covers around his shoulders.

Yawning, Mevile stretched his legs out some before pulling them under the covers, crossing them in front of him. "
When you said you'd visit me, this isn't quite what I'd expected." He chuckled, shaking his head as he yawned again, slowly running a hand through the mess of his hair. "And you just opened the door, hm?" Rubbing his eye to get some of the sleep out of it, Meville muttered to himself. "Serves you right for not locking it in the first place."

Running a hand across his stomach, Meville scratched just above his bellybutton, smacking his lips some as he got used to the taste of morning in his mouth. "
Well. I suppose now that I have company, I should get dressed and entertain you." He playfully swatted at her as he stood up, taking the blankets with him like a large, lopsided robe. Shuffling across the chilly planks of the floor, Meville pulled open the dresser and drew out the undergarments, slipping into them as he let the blankets fall to the ground. Shivering slightly in the chill of his room, Meville looked over the bed at Mino. "So, did you have some plan in mind, or is this more of an informal visitation sort of happening?"

As he voiced his question, he found his pants on the ground. Shuffling over, he lazily pulled them on, shivering even more as the cool leather found its place against his warm skin. As Mino replied, his eyes scanned the room for his shirt, buried beneath the pile of blankets. Digging it out and slipping it on, he stared down at Mino, a slight frown on his face. He didn't really have that many clothes to begin with, so she'd have to settle for a blanket until he could swipe some from Jennai.

Wakey wakey!(Meville)

Postby Minosayaa on February 7th, 2014, 2:26 pm

As Meville mumbled strange words and phrases Minosayaa parroted them back at him believing her was speaking some sort of a foreign language. "Mrgbfl to you too!"

Mino beamed as Meville finally decided to join the living,"What's a menace? Am I a good one?" She giggled happily when Meville tickled her with his hair. Her laughter continued from under the dark colored fur that had been tossed at her,"Well if I had come at any other time you'd of seen me coming a mile away. Which lacks in surprise. So this was the only way! Yup, I just opened the door! Otherwise I'd had to learn how to lock pick on the spot!

She wiggled out from beneath the fur only to be swatted at by Meville. She gasped as Meville made his way to get clothes, "You look like a king of sorts with all those furs trailing behind you! Now you just need a crown! Yay King Meville! Yay, and I'll be your second in command! Helping you make all your kingly decisions!"

She gave him a blank look, "Nope! All I really thought out was how I'd get in. Although if you wanted to go somewhere I could take you there, you'd just have to hook me up to a sled." Mino returned to lounging on Meville's bed some where along the way she had abandoned the fur.

Now fully dressed, Meville couldn't help but laugh at the strange little naked child on his bed. Oh how the rumors would fly if anyone were to find out. Walking over and sitting down next to Mino, Meville clicked his tongue, "
You are a menace, and I'd say one of the very highest caliber." Chuckling a bit before yawning, Meville leaned back, picking up the fur from the ground and pulling it back onto the bed. He had to admit, a lockpicking proficient Mino was certainly a force not to be reckoned with, though he couldn't imagine the little snowball being quite dexterous enough to pull it off.

"
And a king? No no, that would be far to much work without reward." He nodded sagaciously. "I would much rather be a happy nobody." He bopped her on the nose, laughing. "That way I could get away with much more."

Seeing as she hadn't planned anything out for the day, Meville chewed on his lower lip. His body was fairly well rested, which meant he had plenty of energy for his exercises. Skipping them didn't sound entirely appealing. "
Why don't we stay here for a few bells more? I have a game we could play." He pushed up off the bed, allowing the girl to remain nude, as he didn't have any alternate fix for it, and she seemed to be perfectly content that way. "Would you like to help me make breakfast?"

"Would I be an even better menace if I did learned to lock pick?" Mino bounced up and down on her knees. She stopped and cocked her head to the side. "Oh? You wouldn't want to be a king? But a king gets whatever he wants, doesn't he?" She was pondering her thought on kings until she received a bop on the nose from Meville."A happy nobody, huh? But what do you get away with?" She was slightly confused yet intrigued. "Hmmm..."

When Meville mention staying in longer she didn't argue. For some odd reason she was happy just to watch Meville go about his daily routine. "Yep, we can stay here." Mino scratched the back of her neck. "I'm not sure how helpful I'll be but, I'll try."

Mino was starting to understand Meville's actions better. Slight unnoticed to most, little actions and habits he had. How he click his tongue in his mouth or how he messed with his hair. Strangely she had begun to notice all of these little things. Her eyes wander back to the perfumed book. Mino was sure it was important along with the marks on his shoulders. She'd ask later. Right now she was dealing with a sudden slight clarity in her mind that she knew would only get clearer and then disappear again.

"
The better question would be what don't I get away with." Laughing, he shook his head, his mess of hair a few seconds behind. "And if you learned to pick locks, I think you'd move from menace to felon." Winking, he chuckled, imagining the Kelvic running about, unlocking anything she could get her hands on. It was all very chaotic.

Moving over to the door, Meville pulled it open, letting Mino through. As he stepped into the room behind her, a quick double knock clicked on the wood as the door shut. "
Now then, food." Ambling over to the icebox, Meville flicked the lid open, chewing on his lip as he checked the contents. There were two decent sized fish, a frozen hunk of something, and several sheets of dried seaweed. Pulling out a fish, Meville set it on the counter top as he turned to Mino. "Would you start the fire? I have flint in that rucksack by the wall over there." Grabbing the knife he'd left in the water basin, Meville glared down at the fish. Buying whole, unprepared fish was much cheaper, but he'd never been very good at gutting them. Shrugging, He chopped off the head, spilling the contents of the thing's insides all over the counter.

"
Hm. Mino?" He turned to check on the Kelvic. "Do you know how to cut fish?"

"What have you done Meville that you've gotten away with? Do you know how to pick locks? Can you teach me?" Mino stopped at looked at the door they had come through. Pausing she slowly walked back over to it and cautiously knocked twice as Meville had. Wheels were turning in her broken Kelvic mind, getting ready to fix itself for only a few ticks and then break again.

"Nhh? Oh yeah sure." She said sounding like someone coming out of a daze and made her way to Meville's bag. She rummaged through it for awhile before finding the flint and retrieving it to light a fire as Meville had asked.

"I'm no chef but I'll manage," was her reply as she took the knife from Meville and looked at the fish, headless with it's innards spilled everywhere. Mino wrinkled her nose but went to work. "Y'know your a lot like them. Darrus and Liarra..." She held the fish's tail in one hand and stuck the fish in the belly towards the tail end and slit it's belly to where it's neck had once been. She cut down the barely there neck bone behind the gills freeing them from the fish.

"I wasn't broken with Darrus. Miss Liarra fixed it once the broken part just for a few ticks." Using her fingers she pulled out the fish's innards that hadn't tumbled out already. Moving to a bucket of water she cleaned the fish washing out the excess blood and any leftover innards with her thumb. After a few ticks she returned to the counter and finding a clean spot laid the fish down for a moment.

Cleaning the knife she turned to Meville,"Now is when the head would be removed." She smiled and shook her head at him. "You're gonna fix it too, just like them and just for a few ticks. Then it will break again." She said gripping the fish's tail once more. She started where the neck bone had been and began to cut along the backbone until she was almost to the tail. Turning the fish over she repeated the process. Opening the fish she removed the back bone. Making an angled cut she separated the fillet from the skin on both sides of the fish.

She move away from the counter to let Meville see her work,"There's a good chance there will be bones in them."

All in a moment she could see move and think deeper and so she said something she hadn't known she knew, "Those strange marks, are magic. That's why when I first met you you didn't smell like an average Vantha... You smelled like magic, because THAT'S what you get away with. I had never smelled magic. But I remember markings not those exactly but magic marks. But, from where? Strange marks...lines...someone.. I don't know..." and she was broken again. Her mind fogged over and simplicity returned to her face. "I cut the fish for you." Mino smiled.

That alone will make me happy.

Having little trouble starting the fire, Mino happily sauntered over, taking the knife from Meville as she chattered happily. His eyes followed her hands, dexterously dancing over the corpse of the fish with surprising acuity. Partially stunned at how well the strange girl seemed to handle the knife, Meville did his best to focus on what she was saying. He remembered her saying the first name once... Perhaps the name of the man who'd accidentally bought her? Frowning some, Meville chewed on his lower lip. The word "broken" leaving an unpleasant taste in the back of his tongue.

As she moved over to the bucket, cleaning out the fish, Meville's frown deepened some. She wasn't make a whole lot of sense, but he had the impression she was conveying something important. Her words and mannerisms were much more deliberate, exact. It was as if she'd temporarily donned the mask of a young woman, and though he couldn't quite place why, it made him slightly uneasy. She was a bit like he was, in that sense. Both of them had uneven pasts behind them that affected them in the present, and it seemed she struggled with it much like he did, just in a different way.

When she'd returned to the counter, she gave him a little smile, indication that the head came after the process she'd just demonstrated. He nodded, but stopped as she finished with her final statement. Again, the word "broken" and "fixed' were used, but Meville was a bit too confused by Mino's strange behavior to be able to comprehend the meanings beyond their inherent values. Chewing on his lip, he regarded the Kelvic almost suspiciously. She was a curious thing, something he'd need much more time to understand. It seemed he'd been presented with yet another little chilly puzzle.

Shaking his head, Meville did little to mask how impressed he was. "
Bones or no, that would have taken me ages." Chuckling to himself, Meville stared down at the fillets. She seemed to be full of surprises, and as she started speaking again, it seemed she wasn't finished.

His smile instantly faded into a tense line as his muscles flexed, his body quickly going rigid. Meville turned slowly, his eyes a much darker shade than usual as he quickly took into account her physical capabilities. He'd spent many years keeping his abilities a secret. For something like Mino to be able to associate the glyphs on his back with magic was disconcerting to say the least. If he could have guessed anyone in the city to find him out, it would have been Lorelle, who'd barely even mentioned them to him. While not frowning, his face had taken on a chilling sheen as he pulled a hand up to his lips, slowly starting to remove his astral arm from his body.

After receiving the letters from Amelia, Meville wasn't going to take any chances. While he'd been taken off-guard by the arrival of his aunts, Meville had decided that anything else that was the least bit suspicious should be dealt with swiftly. With his arm almost completely removed, something about Mino changed. The foreign tick of calculation that had shone through her strangely lucid eyes faded, receding back into some sleeping place in her mind. Instead of continuing on, she seemed to forget what she'd said, speaking instead about her culinary accomplishment.

The glyphs on his shoulders had been glowing as they were activated, shining faintly through his shirt. Realizing he had a change to just smooth everything over, Meville began to reattach his arm, the lights on his back dimming from barely perceptible to nothing. Feigning a cough, Meville moved his hand over his mouth, nodding. "
Hrm! Good job then, Mino! Excellent knife-work." His voice didn't quite match his face, as his eyes still retained a hint of their iciness, his mouth still a straight line. Blinking a few times, his grin returned as he tossed the fish onto the stove with a flourish. The sizzling of the meat filled the room as Meville sighed to himself.

"
What am I going to do about you, hm?"
