Everything was dark. But then a light bloomed in the center of the impenetrable shadows. And it slowly spread through the area, everything being brought to life as the strange glow began to cover everything. The world was black and white, with hues of gray. The only thing in color was the sanguine fluid pooling in droves all around the still images of people. Some had swords shoved through their chests. Others were missing body parts that lay at their feet. Either way, blood continued to pump from the frozen visages. The liquid was still warm, fresh. It traced over his hands, in-between his fingers that rested against the cold ground.
There was one other thing that drew on the light. It didn’t quite belong. Color pooled around its form. And it certainly wasn’t frozen. Golden orbs shone and took in the scene about him. A long tongue flicking out licking chapped lips. His garb was unfamiliar and yet it fit. And the jacket he wore was all too similar to the one draped around Gabriel… His shoes pressed into the flowing pools of crimson. A wicked and twisted smirk trailing across his features.

As the backdrop continued to come into view. Small huts and cottages bloomed into the hazy vista. Everything about the place was nostalgic. And yet all that came to mind was horror. A realization of despair and tragedy washed over him. Within’ there was but a void in his soul and heart. An emptiness that could not be sated. The insatiable abyss, yearning inside his very core. The dark garbed man that stood before him was the catalyst for all this… Gabriel’s very existence was in opposition to this figure that stared him down. Those yellow eyes glared at him in disgust as he rose from his knees.
“So… You came after all… Gabriel…” the voice resonated throughout the dreamscape. That voice was calm, serene. And yet Gabriel knew the truth of it…
“You…you killed them… You’re the reason for this…” Gabriel’s fingers curled into fists. His crimson orbs boring into the shady stranger.
“And?” the voice rolled over him as if challenging him. Proclaiming that the boy could do nothing.
“I’m going to kill you…” the statement issued forth from Gabe.
“Excuse me?” the golden-eyed stranger proclaimed. The voice still smooth. Gabe wanted nothing more then to walk over and smash the mans face in with all his might.
Gabriel didn’t bother to say anything else. His left hand slid down the pommel of his blade. Then below the guard, which his thumb would press against. His other digits furling lightly against the blades sheath. His feet began to push forth. Forming into a quick stride forwards. His right hand begun to lower across his chest, past his waist to hover over the grip of his katana.
“I SAID YOU’RE GOING TO DIE HERE!” Gabriel rushed the figure…
