12th Bell
Sei walked through the snow, watching the his breathing create small clouds. He was in the Bronze Woods, and it was still fairly early, but today he actually had a plan. He wore light, studded leather armor which was covered by his fur cloak. He had a freshly purchased shortbow in hand, with a large quiver slung across his back. At his waist he wore a single sheath which held a short sword. He drew the icy winds into his lungs and slowed to a halt. There were plenty of trees to practice on, and he was lucky it wasn't snowing.
The Kelvic took an arrow from his quiver and drew back the bowstring on his shortbow. He was used to his longbow, so the fact that he couldn't pull back very far made him nervous. What if he screwed up and ripped the bowstring? He groaned and decided to find a proper stance. He tried to stand straight and tall, and extended the bow in front of him before drawing and arrow. He position the bow were his sight was just above the arrow. He made sure to keep it nose height before begining to draw back the arrow. Relax your arms, keep a firm grip, and release the arrow. He told himself. He let the arrow fly, but jerked his hand a bit, sending the arrow directly to the right instead of zipping straight ahead.
Sei lined up his stance again, noticing his hands were shaking. He had to be nervous, which was throwing off his game. He needed to swallow his weakness and get on with it. He drew back the bowstring, his hands shaking lightly all the while. He released the arrow, and tried his best to get a firm hold over his hands as not to disturb the course of the arrow. He took a step back, looked around and drew yet another arrow. He swung around to the opposite direction and launched the arrow at a tree. Luckily, the arrow actually hit the tree, but because his inexperience it bounced right off. The Kelvic groaned and tried again. Before he released, he pulled back at the wrong angle, causing the arrow to arch upward and plummet back down.
He took in a deep breath, lifted the bow, and fired another arrow. Same result; even if it hit the tree, it simply bounced off. Sei wanted to quit, but then he'd never learn to be better. It was better to krrp trying and failing then not trying at all. He let his cloak ripple behind him. He notched back an arrow on the bowstring, and toyed with the angle until he felt it was secure. He launched the arrow, and kept his hands from moving the whole time. He pressed his lips into a scowl when the arrow bounced off, and raced over to retrieve them.
The Tiger Kelvic finished his retrieval, and took his stance again after taking quite a few steps back. He had planned this whole day out, and he was going to use it well. He had been tginking about it for a while before he actaully had time. He stayed silent for a moment, and blinked his eyes. He pulled back a arrow, launching it with all his might. There arrow hit the tree with a loud thud, and nearly squealed when it stuck in the tree.
