Most interestingly, all of the animals that travel in The Pride have little need to be restrained by pens or fences. They seem to be perfectly content with following the Drykas around, knowing full well that Endrykas is a paradise in comparison to the dangerous of the Sea of Grass. The animals all know their place on the ranches and are moved across great distances with the help of herding dogs and horses.
Purpose:
The animals here are cared for with great love, respect, and nurturing. Emerald Animal Breeders dedicate their time and energy into seeing that the meat they consume is of the finest quality. When livestock is mistreated, the meat can be stiff and filled with chemicals that make the meat unappetizing. Naturally the Drykas, let alone those of the Emerald Clan, are intimately bonded with all of Caiyha's children.
Because of the conflict of lifestyles between the carnivorous large cats and dogs and the more serene plant grazers, animals for hunting assistance are bred and raised on these farms but taken away as soon as they grow to appropriate size. Their new home becomes the Hunters' Allegiance, where they join the Emerald Hunters and begin their training to assist on hunts. It is very important that these hunting animals first be exposed to the loving and nurturing environment of The Pride before learning the harder and more painful realities of life.
