Lysa stuffed her hand in her mouth. She was really struggling to control her laughter and was on the verge of emerging victorious when she doubled over again as the Dhani insisted she'd be call Mistress. Oh how she really wanted to respond to that. But of course, in order to respond understandably, one must not be in the process of giggling so hard they can barely stand. This condition was only worsened though when the Dhani started to spell Mistress out for her and then hide her face. She wasn't laughing because of Kari's spelling, she thought it sounded pretty right to her. Instead, she was laughing because she found it funny.

Finally managing to control herself, she recomposed her face into something that was vaguely serious and while she couldn't speak in fear that she would immediately burst into laughter again, she instead raised one eyebrow managing to achieve her goal of looking skeptical, Feeling her confidence raised, she prepared her response of pure humour.
"If you so desire then it shall be you that I call Mistress. However of course in that case, you must then return the favour and call me Lady but then again...Kari does sound much better." she said, all the while managing to keep a serious expression before it crumbled back to it's former lighter expression.

It was amazing how much emotion she was managing to show today. It was extremely refreshing to her although she had no idea as to why she would be doing so. It wouldn't surprise her though, if the reason were to be because the Dhani seemed to be simply different from most of the other people she saw around Riverfall. She didn't appear like she was trying to prove she was the best or someone that was altogether too peaceful. That in itself was something Lysa appreciated a lot. Shrugging off her currently unimportant thoughts, she suddenly remembered that she was technically still meant to be hunting.

"Oh great, I forgot, I need to hunt!" she said suddenly, back to a serious yet only slightly cold this time tone. Looking at Kari, she was somewhat surprised that she didn't want to leave just yet but then again...she did need to hunt. Suddenly gaining a brilliant flash of inspiration, she opened her mouth again to respond. "Would you want to come with me?" she asked politely, her eyes turning a friendly shade of cerulean blue. She hoped the Dhani would say yes. She was definitely in the mood for some company and who knew? Maybe they could learn something new.

[Job Thread] Stalking One Another (Kari)

She looked a bit awkwardly at the Vantha, wondering what she did do for the human laugh so much. Was there anything funny in her face? Was she some kind of clown?Or maybe mistress meant something else for the human...but it didn't matter, she began to giggle, at how hard the human was laughing. She never saw someone laugh so hard in her whole life,so this was a new experience...

When the human asked for her company, Kari began to think. What she should do?On one hand, the cold annoyed her quite a bit, but meanwhile, she was enjoying the company of the vantha, and the act of digesting meat was enough for her to somewhat be able to survive the cold. She was still uncomfortable about it, but it wasn't a big worry right now...maybe she could amuse herself with the human.Just maybe.

Kari always believed that Dhani were better than most of races. In fact, she knew they would accept her much better than any other race...but maybe it is better to leave the racial pride out for now?Maybe she could try helping the woman hunting, since she had nothing better to do.She was unemployed, had a tiny home with nothing to do in it, and really, this was a chance to improve herself on hunting skills. She always found fun on hunting small things, but it was the first time she ever tried to hurt something that could be a potential threat to her.And that was a new experience.

She had a goal of learning enough to save her kind...and knowledge of hunting surely would come in handy later on her life. The Dhani smiled to the Vantha, after spending a whole chime thinking.
"I sssupossse it wouldn't hurt to join in.I don't have any job right now, ssso maybe I could pick up a few things on hunting, and begin to hunt with you." She said, sounding rather warm.

She often was against joining with non-Dhani, but being with this human made her feel somewhat alive. At least, it made her believe that life was simpler than it truly was, which was a good thing. No matter the person, it is always nice to spend a few bells outside of the big picture, to enjoy the small things in life...

Lysa wondered if she was too hasty in asking the Dhani to help her hunt. She did just kind of ask and she wasn't even sure if Kari even liked her. Just because one person enjoyed the company of another didn't mean it was the same vice versa. Looking at the snow below her, the thought occurred to her that she, Kari, may not like the snow. That would be a valid reason why. Not many people liked the snow. She could stand it but that was because of her gnosis; it was like living normally for her. In actual fact, she was quite dreading when summer would come around. She had no experience in the heat and she had heard warmer temperatures could be quite terrible for Vanthas.

Hearing the Dhani's distinct voice, she quickly rose out of her thoughts and was pleasantly happy when she heard she would come along. Smiling, she clapped her hands together.
"Great! First thing you should know about hunting is be quiet. You wouldn't want to scare off all the game would'ya?" she said excitedly in a voice she had not heard in half a year. Surprised at herself, she dropped her smile while she tried process her words and tone through her brain. "I have no idea where that came from," she thought aloud, her eyes clearly reflecting her shock at a bright green. There was no set colour for each mood; it just changed every time her mood changed.

Visibly shaking herself out of her surprise, she told herself she should be glad she wasn't being some cold stick. Her reason for leaving in the first place was so that she could move on and be happy again and her current disposition wasn't exactly what she called happy.
"Don't mind me talking to myself but shall we go this way?" she asked coolly albeit still friendly as she pointed in a direction to the left. "It won't be much use hunting here when all the game will probably have been scared off," she explained.

OOCSorry for the short post.I do my posts naturally, occasionally reaching huge sizes, but sometimes being rather small.I just can't force myself to do big flashy posts like some can do.
She let out a small ,hiss-like giggle, after all, the Vantha was the one who made a lot of noise.[color=#00BF40]"I believe that countsss for you asss well.By the way, what'sss up with your eyesss conssstantly changing color?It...isss a bit sstrange. It looksss cool, but unusssual at the same time..."

Kari said, noticing how Lysa's eyes were bright green. So far, she knew little to nothing about the Vantha, but she knew Lysa could say the exact same thing to her.Maybe, just maybe they could be friends.A Dhani, and a little, tasty, friendly morsel hanging out together. In fact, Kari began to daydream about something.

What would happen if Lysa died during this hunt? How would I eat her...feet first, or maybe headfirst?Or should I take my sweet time, and bite each limb off, before eating the head of her corpse?Kari thought to herself, but then blinked a few times.

...that is a horrible thought...but it would be even worse to let someone else eat her corpse, or simply waste such delicious meal. Kari began to shake her head a little bit, the act being rather similar to shivering, trying to forget her thoughts. She's better than that. She has spent the last few years ignoring all of her instincts, she surely could do it for longer, especially while Lysa is an ally.

A part of her wished for such instincts, and superiority complex would simply go away, so she could enjoy her time with the Vantha, exchange histories, and hang out together. That was the part she showed a chime or two ago to Lysa. The part which was closest to human, one that cared, and loved the others.

a shiver broke her line of thought. While she was idly thinking about everything, she completely forgot about the cold, and the danger of being frozen. But, she didn't want to let Lysa go away just yet.She wanted to enjoy a little more time with the Vantha.

"Anyway, it isss cold out here...I won't ssstay for too long, maybe jussst for a bell or two.I can't ssstand thisss cold."

Nyssa said with a warm smile...or at least, as warm as a cold-blooded viper Dhani, with her fangs out could be.It was rather scary, even though she showed no hostile intentions. She now lowered herself, slithering as low as she could without her upper body touching the snow. She was silent, although because of the color of her body, spotting her in the snow could not be easier.

[Job Thread] Stalking One Another (Kari)

Postby Lysaea Frostfawn on February 23rd, 2014, 1:14 pm

Lysa blushed slightly in embarrassment when Kari said that making no noise counted for her as well. It was her making the noise she guessed. "I guess..." she said trailing off slightly before smiling again. "And I have no idea why my eyes change colour. It's just how all Vanthas are like," she continued, shrugging her shoulders. "We're the people of the Aurora Borelias, our eyes reflect it in that sense. Our hair also generally takes up a shade as well. That's was what I was told,"

To be truthful, she had never really wondered about it much. She knew Vanthas were considered to be a sub-race of Humans and it was those traits that set them apart from the general humans. That was about how far she had thought about it. As she responded, it appeared to her that the Dhani began to get caught up in some sort of daydream. Upon viewing this, she began to feel slight doubt about what Kari was dreaming of.

Hopefully it wasn't about eating her. She had heard Dhanis liked eating humans, flesh or basically just meat in general and judging by the eaten Wolf, she wasn't exactly doubting that fact. She knew she could be suicidal sometimes but she certainly wasn't feeling like she would want to be eaten especially at this moment. She was the kind of person who wanted to die on her terms so unless she actually wanted to be eaten, then she guessed she'd have to fight Kari if she was planning on eating her. She didn't want to but if it came to that, she would.

She didn't know whether she trusted the Dhani fully but she did know she trusted her enough on the level that Kari wouldn't eat her up if she got hungry so hopefully she would live up to her level of trust. It wasn't like Kari seemed like she was going to suddenly get up and eat her anyways. Shaking her thoughts, she decided she wouldn't let any generic racial thought bias her opinion on someone. She had to see things for herself or else she'd believe things that could turn out to be entirely false and she hated that. She used to be too trusting and that was the thing that definitely changed her for the worse.

Brushing off her thoughts when Kari began to say that she wouldn't stay out to long, Lysa nodded her head in agreement.
"Alright then, freezing to death is probably not a pleasant feeling; not that I've ever felt cold before," she said amiably returning a smile to the smiling Dhani. In her personal opinion she looked rather scary but considering she had fangs and the fact she felt no bad intention, she decided it was a nice smile for Kari.

Quietly following after the Dhani, she quickly realised the snow wasn't good coverage for the snake woman and that she would probably need to disguise her. Thinking fast, she decided that the best path for them would probably be to hide in a bush when the game came along. Moving swiftly yet hushed, she soon over took Kari and gestured for her to come to the right. She did state she might be able to pick up a few things in hunting and tracking was a pretty important part.

"Where do you think this goes?" she asked quietly pointing to the tracks. For herself, she could tell that they went a little bit further, past the next tree and that they were also looked pretty fresh. To add to that, they seemed like they game tracks which made it even better.

[Job Thread] Stalking One Another (Kari)

OOCHey, sorry about this, I'm not so good at playing as wildlife, but I hope this will do for now.PM me if you have any issues with this post, kay?

Kari, unlike most of her kind, was clueless about actual hunting. She knew how to kill, she had heard of how to assassinate others, but this was...quite different. As much as she hated to admit, the Vantha seemed to have more knowledge than her on this.Kari couldn't blame her, but yet, she wasn't very happy about it either, even though she tried to not show it.

She let out a sigh as she heard Lysa's question, about where the tracks would lead to.She had no clue about it, and wasn't able to identify if it was fresh tracks, or if the one who left it had gone away long ago.She looked deep in thought, trying to figure out which was the answer...but she couldn't come up with anything. All she could do was guess, and hope that luck would smile upon her today.

I hope I don't get this wrong... Kari thought to herself, staring at the tracks. She wasn't able to identify which kind of animal left it, but for sure, it wasn't a reptile, or small mammals.Maybe it was another wolf? She could not help but wonder about such things, and soon, she opened her mouth to say her thoughts.
"I believe it wass made by a wolf, of a ssimilar ssize ass the one we jusst killed, and it was made recently. In fact, the one who made thesse trackss might still be around, and I wouldn't doubt it might've noticed uss."

The Dhani said, making half of this up in her mind. She was just trying to look smarter than she truly was, in an attempt to impress Lysa. She knew the hunter wouldn't be easily impressed, but yet, Kari was hoping she wasn't completely clueless on the subject.

But her thoughts were interrupted, by the sounds of growling.Kari gulped, feeling an almost alien emotion to her.Fear.She was scared the growls were from the rest of the pack of the wolf she had recently killed, probably wanting revenge, or just trying to kill her and Lysa for cheap food.Kari just wrapped her coils under the cloak, preparing herself to jump at whatever beast came close to her.

"I guesss the big wolf we jussst killed had a family, huh?" She said, as she heard the sounds getting slightly louder. She was able to identify the wolves in a distance, because of the fact Dhani could see through heat, but she wasn't sure if Lysa was as lucky. The wolves were now circling both Lysa, and Kari, waiting for them to lower their guards.

[Job Thread] Stalking One Another (Kari)

Postby Lysaea Frostfawn on February 24th, 2014, 1:59 pm

Lysa waited patiently for the Dhani’s response. She would roughly know where she was at in terms of hunting and tracking by her answer and part of her wanted to see whether she was experienced or not. She saw how Kari had moved prior to their current position which made her wonder whether she did know how to hunt or not. Generally speaking to her, the way she moved was quite good in the sense that she made not one noise. She still needed to know though.

Listening carefully to Kari’s response, she heard the Dhani say it was from a wolf. She noted the response was quite detailed as well. Carefully examining the tracks to the best of her ability; she was only a novice at best, she took in account what the other woman said. She was right that it was made recently and that the one who made the tracks might still be around. She was definitely right about the fact that it wouldn’t have noticed them yet. But the one thing that made Lysa certainly doubtful was the fact she said it was a wolf. Truthfully, she had encountered the tracks before and she had been pretty sure it didn’t come from a wolf.

If she wasn’t wrong though, it did come from something that had somewhat similar tracks to the wolf. In fact, recalling correctly, she could have sworn it was a bear; not quite that big, but certainly not small enough to be a cub. The tracks now were slightly bigger but since she had someone with her, she wasn’t that concerned about size. After a moment’s consideration, she lifted her hands from the tracks.
“You’re right for most of it except fo-,” she said slowly before realising Kari was looking at something.

“What are you looking at?” she asked curiously. Hearing the Dhani’s say something about wolves, she couldn’t help but wonder what she was talking about. “Wolves? Wha-“she began before cutting off as she begun to hear the growling too. “Right, I guess so,” she finished humourlessly, not being able to help the slight grim laughter that escaped her lips as the wolves begun to circle in.

Darting her eyes between the wolves and themselves, she decided she should try to hide or control the creeping fear quietly worming its way in her system; animals could detect fear and she certainly wasn’t planning on making herself more likely to be dog food. “When I say run, run and climb the tallest tree you can find,” she hissed to the woman beside her. She knew they barely had any chance on defeating a whole pack of wolves so they’re best bet was the get up high where the wolves couldn’t follow.

Tensing her body up, she was about to dash when she suddenly remembered wolves didn’t like fire. She didn’t know who told her at that particular moment but she knew it was true. The only problem was that she didn’t know how to start a fire. Running and climbing was their best bet but it was very risky. She had no trouble believing that the Dhani might be able to outrun them but for herself, her chances were too slim for her to risk it. Then the answer clicked itself inside her mind. Reimancy. She could start a fire through that. However, there was a problem with that as well; She didn’t learn how to use fire Reimancy. She only learned wind.

Gritting her teeth in frustration, she decided maybe she could manipulate the ice to create spikes to freeze the area around the wolves but that was a hopeless idea. All their options was very risky as far as she was concerned. The best was attempting fire. She hated fire but it was her only bet. Funny how it killed someone she loved and was her best chance now at surviving. Focusing her res around her, she began to think of fire. She began to form her res around herself and closed her eyes shut in concentration. The wolves sensing this, hesitated to jump on them.

Summoning up her own Djed, she had a sudden burst of fear when she felt her res begin to transmute. Cursing she didn’t think as she flung it away. As she begun to feel the res exit her manipulation zone, she quickly attempted to imbue the thing with fire but she knew it was hopeless; she didn't learn fire and she knew transmuted res was useless. Watching the slightly visible res hurtled away into the middle of the wolves, she couldn't help but feel that it was slightly hopeless effort on her part. At least they looked slightly… disorientated.
“Run!” she hissed to the Dhani before the wolves recovered from their shock at seeing nothing spectacular after all her concentration.

OOC: Don't worry, you're just fine at playing wildlife :)
