Knight Stalking (Seva)

Winter 52, 513

Letixia was walking behind a patrolling knight, every so often writing something down in a ledger with her Patron's name on the front of it. It was just after lunch, and she was given an assignment to do. For the next week or so, she was to track and record all of the paths patrolling certain Knights made. Her area of coverage was mostly in the Maiden and Illythian Districts. He'd told her that, not only would this give her a better understand of the areas she might have to patrol herself one day, but would allow him to construct more efficient pathings. He'd also told her to not be seen by the Knight she was following, for they may adjust her path to route her out.

Leti didn't know the Knight she was currently following, other than his name was Ser Halladin. She could see that he was a mountain of a man, with an ever watchful glare. She stayed about a bowshot back, watching him. He meandered rather than the more typical straight-backed rigidity of some Knights. They were currently in the Illythian District, so the hallways were better kept and well lit.

"Look for discernible patterns."

She remembered her master's advice and kept watching her target. They were just now passing the Ballroom, where the man had stopped and maintained a watchful eye for several chimes. She watched him stop every so often, at a seemingly constant pace. He passed an apartment, then another, and another, then stopped, allowing her time to write in the ledger. Then she realized that he stopped after every three apartments, and at any big attraction or business. She waited to see if her theory held true, and a full bell later, it had. She smiled to herself as she made a note of this while walking, not really paying any mind as to where she was going.

Knight Stalking (Seva)

Postby Seva on February 23rd, 2014, 9:34 pm

Seva Lahara
52 Winter, 513
Streets of Syliras

It had been four days since Seva had arrived in Syliras. Since then he had managed to do nothing other than get lost on what seemed like the same street each day. For some reason he found it more difficult to navigate the city than he had the open landscape that he had traveled through. However, he was on his own now, as opposed to his travel companions that he had come to Syliras with. It appeared that he had a lot to learn.

Walking past what seemed to be the same shop that he had walked past three times already today, Seva finally began to admit to himself that he was indeed lost, again. This time was different though. Instead of continuing his misguided tour throughout the district, Seva chose to stop and look around at what was around him.

Although this idea was good in theory, it proved nothing to him other than the fact that he was in what seemed to be an apartment and shopping district, and who knew how many of those were in Syliras. Stopping also proved to be a bad idea, as people walking through the crowded street began bumping into him due to his unannounced halt in the middle of the path.

Trying to keep from being an obstacle in the middle of the path, Seva began blindly walking with the flow of the people as he looked around. Because of this, he would not notice that the area in front of him had become relatively scarce of a crowd, except for a female who was writing notes in some sort of journal. Due to this path, Seva would soon bump into her back unless she moved a foot and a half to either side, then he would just walk right on by, oblivious to her existence completely.

Knight Stalking (Seva)

Leti lurched forward as someone bumped into her from behind, causing her charcoal pencil to skew across the paper. She felt the person move past her, not apologizing or stopping. She felt her small temper flare up, "Excuse me, you just rudely run into people, and can't even manage a 'Sorry'?" Her voice was just loud enough to be heard by those around them. She stepped forward, and lightly grabbed the man by the shoulder, and turned him to face her.

She quickly looked at his face, her flare up obvious on hers. She then realized she was being too harsh on the poor citizen. "Sorry, I was rude. It's a crowded city." She then stuck out her right hand, "I'm Letixia Raigner, squire to Ser Ranqor Grayne. And you are?" She looked over the man's shoulder, only to see her knight was gone. But she knew his pattern, so it wouldn't be difficult to find him again. "Let me make it up to you. Are you hungry or anything?"

OOCSorry its so short, it will pick up, I promise

Seva Lahara
52 Winter, 513
Streets of Syliras

"Excuse me?" Seva thought to himself as he heard the female's voice somewhat behind him. He had bumped into someone, but mistook it for the common traffic he was still trying to adapt to on the Sylirain streets. "Was that directed at meeeee...?" he continued to mentally ask himself just as he was whipped around by the shoulder. Not expecting the sudden pull, he was thrown off guard and slightly startled from the aggressive tug. His shoulder instantly became slightly irritated from the woman's hand, but nothing that wouldn't work itself out in a matter or minutes. It was more of a scare than anything else.

"I... I'm so..." he began, as his face was twisted about so that he was now facing the girl before him. Before him stood a remarkable girl, about the same age as himself. The first thing, other than the flared nostrils, that he noticed was her eyes; a nice color of green-brown, and still a wonderful color even given her anger towards him. He hadn't much time to notice her other features before her mood had seemed to lighten and she apologized to him. From then on, her mood seemed more relaxed and her features not as aggressive.

Seva instantly looked from her eyes to her hand, which she had outstretched before him as she introduced herself. "A squire?" Seva thought to himself. "I'm lucky she didn't cut my head off or anything."

He stared at her hand for a second and then reached out with his own to grasp hers. Her hand was warm and he instantly felt bad because he knew that his would be cold to her. "No, I should be the one apologizing," he said as he shook her hand. "My name is Seva Lahara. Sorry I bumped into you. I'm new here and haven't quite learned my way around." He paused for a moment, thinking about her last question. "You know, now that you mention it, I am kind of hungry. But I don't really know where any restaurants are. Perhaps you could point me to the nearest? Unless you are hungry yourself and would like to join."

Knight Stalking (Seva)

Leti had a much better idea than dining in some tavern or inn. Sure, she liked to do it occasionally, but a squire's coin pouch never really agreed. She smiled, and grabbed his hand, "I have an idea, if you don't have much to do today. It should also help you a little with finding your way around our lovely town. Interested?" Without waiting for an answer, she began pulling him through the halls of Syliras. She was heading in a northwesterly direction, though without much access to the sun, it was pretty hard to know that for someone new to the city. Eventually the pair left the Maiden District, and found themselves in the Bittern District. She pulled him along until she found one of the few stairwells to the Second Tier.

"Wait here, I have to grab some stuff from my dorm. Sorry, but civilians aren't allowed inside."

She left him there, ascending the stairs to the dorms. She quickly made her way to her suite. While there, she grabbed her pack, stuffed her fishing kit and pail inside, and grabbed her rod. She left her assignment within, she could work on it over the following days anyways. She turned around and returned to where she'd left her new friend. She then realized that she hadn't been a very good tour guide. "This here is the Bittern District, the only residential district with two tiers other than the Dyres District. The apartments here in the first tier are cheaper, housing many of our city's workers and foreigners. The second tier is solely for the Squire Dormitories. We're heading to the docks next, while we go, why don't you tell me what brings you to Syliras?"
