Larik had told her that someone was here to see her, but Kavala had no idea who that was. It was a Konti woman, the kelvic said, that he'd shown to the waiting room in the healing clinic and assured her that she could see a healer. Kavala was the only one home at the time, working on her backlog of things to do and trying to juggle the babies. Caelum was off working on Alements, getting more and more excited the bar was opening soon. Vanator was off training horses, putting some of the younger warhorses through training that would teach them not to be afraid of close quarter combat or of pressing an enemy from behind, in front, and from the rear.
So Kavala was stuck - not exactly the best term because she loved the work - in the clinic, was also minding her infants, while Cadra was working on some dinner for everyone when they finally did settle in for the night. She had Ralac in his bouncy seat and Ia'del in a sling across her chest. Kavala was getting better at managing two, though she wouldn't recommend it to anyone ever. She was just lucky Ia'del was progressing and Ralac was a good boy. Tasi, her oldest, was undoubtedly assisting Cadra in the kitchen. He loved to cook, even at his young age, and Cadra encouraged it. With her being Kelvic, she never saw the boys age as an issue. She just saw him as him, which was nice because she never treated him like a child even though he was.
So when Larik tapped on the clinic workroom door, Kavala nodded, washed her hands around Ia'del's sleeping form, and bustled out into the waiting room. She had an apron on over herself and her sleeping baby and it gave her the oddest shape ever. Reverse camel, Tasi called it, thought the apron had spots of blood and iodine splattered across it, and a needle with suture tucked into its left upper corner for future retrieval.
"Hi there. I'm Kavala Denusk. It's good to see you. What can I do for you today?" She asked, moving into the waiting room and instead of standing over Lyn'nice, she offered her a hand to shake and took a seat on a neighboring chair for a moment to get off hers.
"Larik, the one you met who helped you navigate this rat maze to get to the clinic, said you were here for a pregnancy check. I don't see any animals with you. You do know this is an animal and kelvic healing clinic." She glanced at the woman again, and noted the bracelet on her arm. Konti. Nakivak. Kavala's mind whirled. She looked thoughtful and concerned all at once, reaching up to rest a hand on Ia'del's head where it peaked out above the apron still nestled in the sling. "I can treat Konti and Nakivak, of course, and don't mind doing so. But I wanted you to be sure you knew you'd come to an animal clinic." Kavala said, sitting back to rest for a moment and letting the woman speak.
