As Kouri had awoken, yawning and smiling up at Anna, the tall woman felt some fraction of her heart melt and affection cross her mind. Love. Did she truly feel that for the young girl? Anna was not sure however she felt some form of affection for her, however did she truly love her as she might her own flesh and blood? The question rung around in the tall woman’s head for a bit, no answer immediately coming to satisfy her. If nothing else she was comforted by Kouri presence in her life upon Sahova, enough so that she was willing to trust her to some degree.
The ghostly child blinked away and was off with few parting words, a smile ghosting its way over the sorceress’ lips only to vanish a moment later. Anna stood and stretched a bit, yawning again as her joints popped lightly as they received proper use. Grey eyes fixed upon her boots and Anna slipped them on, rolling her shoulders as she prepared to head out. Fishing for her was not exactly an issue since she could control the waters around Sahova easily, a good thing as well since it meant her task would be much more quick and simple. With a final check over her equipment the sorceress headed out of her room after Kouri, her destination as the Sahovan harbor.

The sound of waves crashing upon rock heralded Anna’s arrival near the shores of Sahova, rock and treacherous as they were. The foaming spray could almost be tasted upon the air itself, cold and chilling much like the crisp winter day. The tall woman was currently looking out at the ocean and allowed herself a sigh as she was closer to two of her primary elements. The earth and water were elements she commanded easily, as a queen might her subjects. The sorceress held dominion over the elements in ways lesser reimancers could only dream of.
Anna sighed as she closed her eyes and found the center of her being, that pool of energy that existed within her and gave her power. The sorceress tugged lightly upon the tapestry of her Djed, holding out a hand and willing that energy to push outwards from the flesh of her hands. Flowing from every pore in her hand was a strange translucent purple substance, drawn with frightening speed and ferocity. The res coated her extremity easily and with seemingly a life of its own, detaching outwards and only to have a steady stream of liquid be flowed out into it.
The gathered liquid grew larger and larger, pleasure tingling at Anna’s spine at the act of drawing more of the precious liquid from her body. It grew until it reached the size of a human torso, Anna cutting off the generation and then moving the shimmering ball of purple liquid outwards and towards the water. The sorceress placed the ball into the shifting waves, keeping concentration as she then activated and attractive force upon the ball, drawing water towards it. Anna then made a circling motion with her hand, her face one of slight concentration.
She spun the res beneath the water faster and faster, creating a small vortex near the shore that drew anything that might be around or nearby towards the center. Anna felt a constant small drain upon her Djed at the action, the act of keeping up attraction being quite costly indeed. Any fish nearby would likely be drawn to the center of the vortex and would thus afford the tall woman a form of net, magical in type. The woman smirked as she continued this, the thrill of casting taking the edge off of her nerves and rocking her body with pleasure.
Once the tall woman was confident that the fish would have been drawn to the center she dropped the attraction, the vortex still spinning due to the momentum for a bit. The res was brought to the center and Anna could feel through it that there were at least a few things within it. The tall woman layered the res into an inner layer and an outer layer, willing the inner layer to cool and freeze and using the outer layer to maintain control of the ice trap through attraction.
This done Anna raised the wet and res covered ball of ice, bringing it closer for examination and noting two distinct shapes within it. One was small and the other larger, two different types of fish and the like would have to be determined once she returned back to her quarters. The sorceress was pleased however, having succeeded in catching her prey she would need only for Kouri to succeed on her end and then she could make some proper soul mist for the child and actually experiencing the creation herself.

Laid out upon her tattered cloak were two different types of fish, one larger one known as the Kovinus Koi and a smaller one known to Sahovan inhabitants as the Hatchet fish. They would do for the sorceress’s needs today, she just would need to skin them and take their meat along with the Thorn Hare Kouri was going to bring back to make Soulmist. She’d have to include a drop of her own blood as well of course, something to complete the whole process and properly charge the Djed. At least that was how Anna understood it.
Speaking of her daughter, soon enough Kouri returned from her errand and Anna’s smile soon turned to a frown as her daughter fidgeted and squirmed. She had failed, that was rather displeasing to the tall sorceress, and the woman hated failure of most any kind. Likely Kouri could have found it if she had stayed out longer but apparently she had opted not to. Not even when this little project was as much for her benefit as Anna’s own. Needless to say Anna was far less than pleased and locked her jaw, pondering the need to discipline Kouri for giving up too easily and failing in such a simple task.
“I give you one simple task, Kouri. I didn’t send you into the Void to fetch something, I didn’t ask you to do laps around the island, all I asked was for you to find one tiny little Thorn Hare. I gave you this task and you returned to me empty handed.” Anna stated slowly, her tone as frosty as the ice she could command.
“You gave up. You simply walked away because you defeated yourself mentally. I am rather disappointed in you, Kouri. You are never supposed to give up, never supposed to quit, apparently I need to teach you the consequences of doing so. Come and lay yourself across my lap.” The tall woman commanded harshly.
“You are going to stay materialized through this. Even if you dematerialize you are to rematerialize as soon as you are able. I want you to feel this punishment and to remember it.” Anna would say if Kouri would comply as the Oath bound her to.
With this Anna would wrap one arm around the specter of a child and poise her other hand near the child’s backside. The sorceress recalled her mother doing this to her whenever she had done something stupid to displease her, something that breached the household rules. The lessons had stung but Anna hand recognized them as being for her own good, they had taught her not to break those rules again. A little spanking was what Kouri needed to get her in order.
Anna would draw back her open palm and then bring it down, pausing to give Kouri a chance to rematerialize before bringing it down on her rear again with the same smacking harshness. Despite any cries she might receive from the child the sorceress would simply keep going, opting to keep going for twenty smacks to really drive the message home. It didn’t feel good to do this, but some vindictive part of her that remembered being threatened in the Prairie by Kouri took some pride in being able to turn the tables on the ghostly child.
