The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

I did see about the Shinya bonding to the Okomo, but I wasn't sure if there were other ways to get the help of one.

Thanks for sharing what you know!

Yeah, so even if it has been changed, we will go with the original rules. The Okomo only bond with Shinya, and the handlers at the gate to welcome people to the city. Other than that, you cannot buy them. I will dig up old posts about them in search for anything else said, but this was the original rules for Okomo, and we will revert back to that. We should be veering away from thinking of the Okomo as pack-mules.

We do have pack ponies and mules if you are looking to transport goods though. Not much confusion clouds the use of those. :)

The pony and mule thing must be new because originally Lhavit had neither and thats why the Okomo were so special. They were the ONLY way to get up and down the mountains without just walking.

I must agree with Kel on this. I clearly remember the thing about no horses and mules from when I first started here. They can't handle the mountainous terrain. Okomo can , because essencially they are a kind of mountain goat. I don't know about anyone else, but I've never heard of a horse climbing mountains. Just sayin'.

You may be right. I was referring to moving around the peaks, not between them. But as I said, I will look into that as soon as possible and give you guys a solid answer.

As you guys know, there were a lot of discontinuities with Lhavit's lore over the years. Fixing them is a process, but Mirage and I will have a more solid foundations for you guys when it is done. We are trying to get as closely back to the city's origins as possible, in the meantime, bear with us. :)

I hope your not trying to get back to the cities "origins". It rather sucked back then because as I recall the city that came out of the application wasn't remotely what was approved/announced and that's where all the city conflict came from. That's what spawned the multitude of rewrites over and over again. I think everyone just wants an original city (no horses/mules was one of those things) that isn't cookie cutter perfect but has a day-night aspect that is unique etc.

To us, this is going to be just another 'rewrite' that hopefully will be better than we've had to put up with before.

Yes, I have read similarly as you guys have, which was where my confusion comes from. I am just seeking a way to travel down the mountain to the coast, I thought Okomo were the only way to navigate the mountains.

So a pony or a mule would be capable?

I know you are working hard on things with Mirage, Neo. I just keep digging things up, too. Not intentionally, but somehow it continues.

Edit: Also, please let me know if I can be helpful at all with anything you're working on!

Tanell, just go with Okomo.

And, I do hope I don't disappoint you guys with this rewrite, its not my intention to keep pushing the city down.

Honestly, if I may, I like what you guys are doing. I'm new to Lhavit and I'm obviously no expert but ever since joining up I've poked through Lhavit's forums and locations to see what was what. I have always liked the concept of the city, but not so much... Well... There's a reason there's cleaning up to do. But cleaning up is getting done, and what we have left after the clean up is left for improvement. Personally, I'm excited for that stage. You and Mirage are both very capable and quite passionate on the subject and I think Lhavit is in good hands. Again, I'm no expert, but it's my two cents. c:

I feel as if Lhavit would shine a bit better if it had an element of danger. All it really has is the 'tall peak you have to climb if you get hurt' and the possibility of slipping and falling to your death. Lhavit has the Shinya, but they are rarely used in threads. There aren't any combat-oriented factors such as Zith raids since the Shinya 'Do their jobs extremely well.'

What I'm getting at, is why have a warrior cult as amazing as the Shinya when nothing really threatens Lhavit? There needs to be something, a real danger that you can build off. It can't be 100% politics, warrior monks, and pseudo-modern star palaces. There needs to be a real danger in the light vs dark aspect of Lhavit, or a real threat to Zintila that people can experience in their daily lives.

The city can maintain it's grandeur, but that can be the mere surface. Dig a little deeper, and you start to see things change and become more scary in a primal way.

Just an idea, an example of what I'm looking for:

It's related to the stars, so perhaps random summoning gates could open up to different places in the city on the calendar? Creatures and elements could step through, making a real danger for the citizens. Okomo could have the ability to close these portals, so they're important and crucial in the same magnitude that WR's Wind Eagles are. There could also be a threat from Dranira that coincides with this development.
