Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Day 1 of Spring in the Year 514 AV
The moon had just begun to reveal itself from behind the curtain of clouds, hovering in the sky above. The chill air of winter seemed reluctant to release its grip over the city and hand over the reins to spring.
The Laviku’s Wrath bobbed gently in the water, her sails secured, all silent on her decks. Suddenly the door of the cabin flew open and slammed against the wall of the small room with a loud bang. A silhouette appeared where the door had once been shut, looking out at the city, the lights in the windows of the homes and inns twinkling in the dark.
Kel stepped out from the doorway and stretched luxuriously, rolling his spine upwards, cracking each disk before finishing it off by swiftly jerking his neck to the side. A sigh escaped his lips as the tension was released from his body. The Svefra started to head over to the side of his ship but stopped as if remembering something.
“Jenkins!” Kel yelled, his voice cutting through the night. He waited but when there was no response he grunted in irritably. “Jeeeeeenkins! Don’t you make me come in there…” A quiet chittering sound floated out from inside the cabin. Kel growled.
“I don’t care if you’re tired. You just took a nap you little shyke. Get your arse out here. We’re going to find something to drink.” He tapped his foot impatiently and crossed his arms. A few ticks later, a small head poked out from the doorway, whiskers twitching. Kel glared at his tavan and lifted a hand, motioning with his finger for his friend to come closer.
The small sea otter chirped. Kel shot him a scathing look and stamped his foot down hard against the wooden planks. The little mammal ruffled his fur coat haughtily. He skittered across the floor towards the Svefra.
“See, that wasn’t so hard now was it?” The sea otter ran across the deck to the little box that sat beside the gunwale, jumped onto it and then onto the railing before leaping onto the pier. Kel began to join him before he froze again.
“Dammit Jenkins, I told you remind me not to forget.” Kel spun on his heels in disgust and strode back into the cabin. He returned half a bell later, slamming the cabin door shut. He gripped a four foot metal pole in one hand. On the bottom of the rod, a short spike protruded from it. On the top end, three large jagged prongs extended in a triangle shape around the pole.
The Svefra hefted his trident and spun it in a circle, wrist rotating, keeping with the motion. “Alright, now we’re ready.” Kel strode across the deck, jumped onto the railing and then the pier. His boots thumped on the old dock as he made his way into the city.
He came to the end of the pier and stopped. Kel looked around a little uncertainly, not having explored much of the city since his arrival. He’d gone out to pay the portmaster but besides that, he crashed for a solid six bells. But then a figure rounded the corner. It passed by a window, revealing it to be a short human male. Kel spotted him and waved him down.
“Hey. You.” The Svefra gestured at the man who spotted Kel. The startled man jumped slightly but came over, curious.
“Hello, can I help you with anything?”
Kel snorted and set the butt end of his trident into the ground, the single point digging into the wood on the pier. “That is why I spoke, yeh?” Kel rolled his eyes dramatically.
“I need ale. Where’s closest bar?” Kel tapped his foot impatiently as the stranger eyed the newcomer with a hint of distaste.
“Turn the corner and take the main road. When you come to the Gila Medical Center, take a left and it will take you to a bridge over the Bluevein River. From there it’s a straight shot to the Blue Bull.” A low rumble reverberated from his chest. “It will suit someone of your…like-minded self.”
Kel smirked and without replying, jerked his trident from the ground and brushed past the man.
The man stood there for a moment in surprise. “You’re welcome!” He shouted irritably after the Svefra. Kel barely acknowledged him, throwing a hand over the shoulder without turning, before disappearing around the corner.
Half a bell later, Kel walked up the curving slope to a set of stairs leading up to a blue door. He stared at it a moment before looking down at his plump tavan. “Well my friend, shall we?”
The Svefra spun his trident once before taking the stairs two at a time and shoving the door open.

Today was the changing of the light of the Watchtowers. Green flickered far off in the distance outside, the inhabitants of Riverfall split between the mourning of the deep tragedy that was the Valterrian and the celebration of survival that came with another year's passing. Tydus was celebrating neither. He sat in the stool at the bar for several chimes, saying nothing other than smile-adorned greetings and pretty 'hellos' to the barkeeper, but as of yet, he felt little desire for conversation. It was only when the thirst struck him that he decided to break his little game of silent treatment and speak to the world. Lips curled into a familiar smile as bright eyes of Laviku's glorious blessing shone towards the barkeeper. "It's not often in my travels that such a lovely lady is behind the bar. What a pleasure." Tydus spoke Common in a slow, almost melodic voice, his voice accented with what was the effects of Fratava. His words animated him, the Svefra's hands raised, palms faced upwards in an expression of being impressed.
The woman arced a brow at him, chuckling at him as she pressed her elbows to the bar, head tilting as her words escaped full lips, "Why thank you. Would you like to order a drink?" Her words were neither unresponsive nor an inclination to continue pursuing her, so Tydus chose the latter option.
Tydus nodded, measured laughter escaping his lips as he pressed his fingers together in a moment of thought, flashy white teeth shining at the woman for several ticks before he formulated his response, "Aye, love. I'll be having a mug of Smokey Blue Ale, for starters. If you'd like to join me, I'm sure the rest of the tavern can wait." The Svefra grinned at her, offering his hand to her in greeting as he leaned forward, "T'name's Tydus Tempest, and it's a pleasure to meet you." The woman extended her hand, Tydus taking it and lifting it to his lips. The woman became flustered for just a moment before turning to fill the Svefra's order. Recollection welled in the woman's mind as she pressed the mug to the table, "You're the right bastard who got kicked out of the Suites for this kind of thing, aren't you?"
Petch. Here it comes.
And it did. The woman imprinted her palm upon the Svefra's face, red tingling surged through the flesh of his face, the Svefra decided it was best to move. He took his mug, lifting the glass to his lips before reaching into his pocket to flick a single silver miza onto the counter before taking a long sip. The ale was rich in taste, the sensation of cool liquid flowing down his throat brought a sense of calm to his mind, the pain had begun to fade with the sip, and improved with each passing tick.
Whoosh
The door swung open, the pungent aroma of seawater filling the Svefra's nostrils, and Tydus turned his head to spot the form of what was unmistakably one of his kin. Though, of course, he was not one of his own Pod. Dead... All of them. Only Ad and I are left, right? We'd have seen... or sensed the rest.
Rather than dwell on the past, the Svefra looked over to the other of his kind, a sort of familiarity exuding from the man, but Tydus couldn't quite place it. He took one last sip of his ale before re-considering his decision.
"You there, Laviku-born! It's always nice to see another Svefra. What Pod are you from?" The Svefra called out in Fratava to isolate their conversation, his bright, flashy grin broadast again as he stood to greet the Svefra.
Why does he look so familiar?- Tydus Tempest

Day 1 of Spring in the Year 514 AV
The door crashed open as Kel made his entrance. He couldn’t resist, he enjoyed the attention too much as the loud sound turned heads in his direction. He stood cockily, a ghost of a smile hovering at the corners of his lips, his black hair tangled over his brow.
When the initial drama of his entrance wore off, he strode into the bar. As he sauntered through, he left the door open, the cold air drifting into the room. Jenkins trotted behind him, sulking. Kel ignored him and swept his gaze over the room. His cocky aura radiated from him at each swaggering step.
The familiar sound of his native tongue drifted across the room and a grin stretched across his face. His gaze settled on a lone Svefra sitting at the bar, his blue eyes glinting in the dim light. His sandy brown hair was cut shorter than most, a five o’clock shadow covering his jaw line.
Kel approached his fellow man of the sea and raised a hand to clap the Svefra’s opposite of him. “You don’t know how good it is to talk to someone in Fratava again! People and their blasted common…I feel like a bloated walrus trying to speak. Ungangly language…”
Kel grumbled as he leaned against the bar, propping his trident against the counter beside him, two of the sharp blades scratching the wood. Something bothered him about the Svefra in front of him. He looked vaguely familiar, his subtle movements triggered something in Kel’s mind, but it kept evaded his memory.
“The name’s Kel. I’m from the Greytide pod.” He looked at the young man sitting beside him. “Mate, you are irritatingly familiar. It’s actually pretty annoying. What pod are you from?”
He idly noticed an angry red mark on the side of the Svefra’s face. It had begun to fade but it still looked vaguely like the outline of a hand. Kel glanced around, trying to figure out where the mark could have come from and noticed the barmaiden. She was furiously scrubbing mugs with a dirty rag. She kept shooting dirty looks over at the two of them. A wide smile broke out across his face and he chuckled.
His fingers twitched and he raised his eyes brows exaggeratedly, “That’s quite the mark on your face. Who’s the lucky lady?”
He smirked and when the woman behind the bar looked over again, he caught her attention and winked roguishly. She hesitated but then seeing him with the other Svefra scowled and went back to cleaning angrily. He chuckled again before looking back towards the Laviku blessed man, waiting for his response, curiosity eating away at his insides.

That smirk... It stirred memories of the past. The way the Svefra carried himself was contagious, Tydus, who had taken to a slight slump in his month of depression, immediately discarded the posture, cricks in his spine fixing themselves with soft cracks, pleasure rolling down Tydus' spine as bright laughter escaped him. It was true, that it felt glorious to be speaking Fratava. Yes, he spoke it every day with Ad, but it was different with this one. Ad was a little brother, a podmate to be watched over. He was naive, if anything. Which was fine, he was brilliant with a cutlass and a fair cook, not to mention he had picked up more of the sailing craft than Tydus had. He had been itching to ask the fellow Tempest what he did in order to survive, but the subject was a sore one for them both. Tydus could hear the pained moans as Ad moved in his sleep, just as he assumed Ad would hear the representation of his nightmares, as well.
The Svefra raised his arm to clasp the kinsman upon his shoulder, his grin broadening further as the other insulted Common. Tydus felt exactly the same way about it, believing it to be a senseless language lacking of business culture. Most of the merchants Tydus had encountered spoke, at the very least, enough of the language to conduct business. This was likely the reason why Tydus' understanding of the language was still incomplete. Lack of practice.
"Too right you are, brother. Vesh sounds far more pleasant than the language does, even after he's stuffed his entire gullet with fish. You can imagine the stench, By Laviku, the other races are cursed by not knowing Fratava."
An eyebrow arched again as he introduced himself. Recollection was instantaneous, laughter exploding from his lips as he clasped Kel's shoulders with both hands, "Kel, you petching shark! I'm Tydus! Tydus from the Tempest pod. By Laviku it's been forever, brother. How... Why are you here in Riverfall?"
It was completely unbelievable that his brother, if in bond only, had made his way to Riverfall just a number of days after he had been forced to stay here. It was almost a saving grace, and the Svefra raised his fingers to his forehead, offering a silent prayer to Laviku. Kel was someone here that both Ad and himself could associate with. Two Svefra were a force, but three?
We can very well be up to adventuring on Laviku's holy seas immediately. We'll find a way. We have to.
The Svefra by no means intended to inconvenience his old friend by forcing him to associate, but it was Svefran culture. Shattered pods usually reformed to make new ones. It was not the nature of a Svefra to wander alone indefinitely, and definitely not on the land. It was like a whale on dry shores. Svefra thirsted for the ocean. So much so that they could drink the water to no ill effect.
"Ha. It was the petching barkeeper. She heard of my... exploits with a local innkeeper and... well, how rumours spread, right, Kel? Ha. A silver tongue doesn't always work in the wrong mouth."
Relief flooded his system as he released his old friend's shoulders, punching him weakly in the shoulder, hoping that the camaraderie was reciprocated. It seemed that it would be, but the Svefra could never be absolutely sure. Fate was a fickle master, just like the Svefra's own patron. Despite the eagerness within the context of the situation, Tydus found his mind wandering again to the ocean.- Tydus Tempest

Day 1 of Spring in the Year 514 AV
Disbelief wrote itself across Kel’s face as the other Svefra revealed his identity. “Ty?! Is that really you?!” Laughter burst from his lips and he wrapped his childhood friend in a brotherly embrace. He released him and sat down on one of the bar stools, “Why am I here? Why are YOU here?!”
Kel didn’t wait for a response and popped back up from his seat just as quick as he sat down. “Aye, Woman! Yeah, you!” He yelled at the barmaiden who had slapped the unprovoked Tydus. She glared at them from the other end of the bar.
“Shyke, I didn’t sleep with yer’ mother. Don’t give me that look, woman.” He scowled back at her. “Do yer’ job and give us a round of drinks! Old friends meet again!” Kel slapped Tydus on the back laughing, still not believing his good fortune. He sat back down on the wooden stool and finally answered him.
“Awhile back, I split off my from pod.” He caught the look Tydus gave him and he raised a hand to defend himself. “I know, I know. No one does that, I’m irresponsible, how could you leave family…yada yada yada…”
Kel was interrupted as the barmaiden slammed down two more mugs of ale. The Svefra winked at her again and she huffed. He turned away, ignoring her and continued speaking to the Svefra from the Tempest pod.
“Anyways, I parted on good terms with my pod, I just needed more than they were offering. I was getting antsy. I needed adventure so when I left, they gave me one of the small casinor’s, the Laviku’s Wrath. I’ve been sailing up and down the Suvan Sea canal and thought I’d try my luck in Riverfall.”
He wrapped a hand around his mug and lifted it to his lips. He took a swig, the froth tickling his lip as the harsh flavor swirled in his mouth. He swallowed and set the mug down with a muffled thump. “Not going to lie, Ty, I didn’t really realize how quiet it would be on my own. I mean, I have Jenkins as company and he’s a bigger pain in my arse now that it’s just us two.”
Kel looked down at the small sea otter who peeked up at the mention of his name. He was curled up underneath his stool and Kel smiled at him fondly.
"Jenkins! Say hello to Tydus! He's my old mate from when we were just pups!" The sea otter blinked lazily up at Tydus before curling back up under the seat. Kel glared at him before shrugging apologetically to the Tempest.
"He's mad I woke 'em up to come here, the lazy bum." He listened to Tydus explain why he had been struck by the barmaiden. The black haired Svefra roared with laughter when he heard the innuendo.
“By Laviku’s beard! Good to see that some things never change.” Kel chuckled as he thought back to their childhood. Tydus was always chasing after the ladies. Words rolling off of his tongue like honey. Kel was never good at mastering the technique of seduction. That was Tydus’ department. “How long has it been eh, Ty? Six years? Seven? We couldn’t have been more than 15 years of age…”
He sighs contently and takes another swig of his drink. “So, my long lost brother. What brings you here to Riverfall? Last time we saw each other, you were on your way up to Avanthal.”

Holy petch it was fantastic to see Kel. It had been seven years since he'd seen the Greytide Svefra, up near Avanathal while the Tempest Pod carted a merchant and his goods up the way. The fee garnered from the taxiing was sizable, and in the trip, one of the elders befriended a penguin to take as her Tavan. Years later, that penguin hatched the spawn that became Tydus' own tavan, Vesh. The penguin huddled closer to the pair, looking up at the sea otter and the two Svefra with curious eyes. Tydus, however, began to laugh, almost bending over as the other Svefra viciously insulted the barkeeper. From the corner of his left eye, Tydus saw her fume, her face turning red before she obediently turned to follow his indication. In the distance, the Akalak owner stirred in the outburst, but seeing that the Svefra meant little harm besides verbal lashing, he did nothing. For now.
Tydus noted the reaction, though he was unable to gauge anything from the Akalak. Tydus made an instinctive call, deciding to drain the remnants of his current glass of ale as the woman put two more on the table. Tydus motioned for the other Svefra to sit next to him as he figured out a reasonable discourse. Getting kicked out of another place in Riverfall sounded like a bad idea. Rather, he'd try to work things out. But... first there was Kel to address.
"That makes two of us without pods then. After Avanthal we came back with Vesh's mama and went down the path, to Denval. Didn't stay there, though. Ar' next full stop was Lhavit. Beautiful place, but again, not a Svefra's boon, if you ask me. Stayed there for 'bout a week, then stopped in Kalinor. Freaky spider people, those Symenestra are. Names sound cool there, though. But, we kept going along. Wasn't much to buy in Kalinor or sell. Symenestra 'r weird people, they are. Kept going. Stopped in Black Rock just for some food. Didn' get to know the area. Good riddance, I say. We finally moored in Riverfall. But... then on ar' way out, the ship got bombed by... who the bloody petch knows. Me and Ad might be the only two left."
The long-winded explanation took quite a bit out of the Svefra, the man taking several sips of his drink before noting that the barkeeper was no longer tending to her mugs. She was staring at the both of them, as if willing them to leave with her oh so intimidating stare. "She's bothering me... give me a chime, here."
The Svefra directed his attention towards the woman, flashing her another broad grin before locking gazes with her. Bright eyes of Laviku's very blood stared into hers as the Svefra began to speak, his words set in a measured, even tone as a hand rose. The hand rose with its palm facing upwards, fingers relaxed and outstretched. It was an assistance in his focus to move his hands. It made Common feel more like Fratava and therefore easier to express.
The Svefra concentrated his djed into his eyes, boring into her very essence with his stare as he spoke,
"Aye, lass. I'd appreciate it if you'd go back to work. We're doing nothing wrong. My friend meant... nothing by his words. He's excited to see us. So, if you will, bring us another round, then politely turn away and be done with us." With each word spoken, Tydus made sure to maintain his focus upon her eyes, keeping the connection as his hand moved with gestures similar to that of Fratava, though rather more smooth, fluid to express the conveyance of what he called a gentle command. Suggestion was far too lenient of a term.
The woman arched her eyebrows, though she shook her head, a soft 'tch' escaping her lips before she shooed off to presumably follow his indications.
The Svefra looked back to his friend, managing a delighted gasp as he expressed a loneliness in his travels, "Oi, Kel. Do you have room in yer' Casinor? Me and a friend, one of me last podmates, are here in Riverfall. I just got evicted, so 'm havin' trouble finding a place to stay anyway. We could start a new pod, based on total freedom, mate. Don't gotta be alone anymore. The Greytide and Tempest pods... We can come up with a new name, even. Something even better."
The Svefra loved tha name of the vessel. Laviku's Wrath. It was more than worthy of three Svefra piloting it towards the road of destiny.- Tydus Tempest

Day 3 of Spring in the Year 514 AV
Kel listened, intrigued by the tales Tydus intertwined together. He sipped on his ale as the Svefra wove stories of his time at sea, travelling along the coast all the way up to Avanthal. Kel was a little jealous of Tydus, not having quite the same experiences that Tydus had during his time spent with his pod. They mainly sailed around the Suvan Sea area.
“See mate, that’s why I had to leave my pod. You lived it up waaay more than I did! That’s the kind of stuff I want. All we did was travel port to port, nothing interesting.” Kel shot him an envious look. He was proud of all the exploits his fellow Svefra brother had accomplished but felt jealousy tug at his stomach.
But when he began speaking of the loss of his pod, Kel felt a hint of shame at his response as he heard of the devastation Tydus had been through. He couldn’t imagine what it would be like to have his whole family slaughtered. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence in the life of the Svefra. Raids on the high seas were expected but it still never lessened the shock when it occurred.
Kel was terrible when it came to sympathizing with people’s emotions. He didn’t know where to look and kept staring at his hands and then at the ceiling. He fidgeted in his seat as he listened to Tydus describe the horrors he witnessed.
Kel was almost relieved when Tydus faded off and then abruptly changed topics. The black haired Svefra was momentarily confused as Tydus began speaking to the livid barmaiden. He didn’t pay much attention to the interaction between the two and instead downed the rest of his drink.
He slammed the mug down on the counter and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. He watched as the woman seemed to ease up on the two of them, the lines around her face softening and then docilely brought two mugs over to them.
Kel looked over at her as she set them down, trying to distract himself from the thoughts of family dying. He was a little surprised by the abrupt change in her countenance and thought she was trying to make amends. “Hello lady. I accept yer’ apology. Yeh’ were incredibly rude. Unhospitable. Vile even. But I will accept these drinks as a peace offering from yeh’.”
He waved his hand dismissing her from their presence.
“You may go now.” Kel reached for his glass but before he could pick it up, she flushed bright red and snatched the mug up from the table and threw the contents in his face. The cold alcohol hit him directly in the face, completely drenching his face and hair.
Kel sat there, unmoving. She glared at him, furious, waiting for his response.
He looked over at Tydus. “What’d I say?”
The woman turned to stalk off but Kel gently laid a hand on her shoulder. She was about to shrug it off angrily but he looked up at her woefully and she paused.
“Ma’am, I need to say something…” He took a deep breath and then looked deeply into her eyes.
”Yeh’ really gotta get me a new ale, woman.” She almost shrieked as she stormed off.
Kel looked at Tydus, exasperated. “I don’t think she’s going to get me one…”
Kel sighed and listened as Tydus continued to explain his living situations. He stroked his chin, feeling the sticky ale on his face. He grimaced and tried to ignore it. At the mention of Tydus potentially living with him, sent a thrill of excitement through him.
“Mate that would be awesome. You know how Laviku is, he loves keepin’ his children together.” He paused as he recalled something Tydus had said. “Who’s this other Tempest you mention? Have I met him before?”
The possibilities of all the exploits he and Tydus could do, slowly started forming in his mind and a smile small began tugging at the corner of his mouth as he began plotting.

It was unbelievable. Time had done absolutely nothing to change the Greytide Svefra. It was as if they were both fifteen all over again, Kel's arrogance beginning to rub off on him as it had before. Of course, Tydus preferred a diplomatic approach, seeing as one could just as well carry on amicably and even earn more benefits that way, but this was far too glorious to pass up. In fact, he decided to amplify the situation further. Where he had attempted, to no success to remedy the situation before, he would amplify it, instead. He listened half-heartedly to Kel as he expressed his jealousy, continuing to speak on, but it was... infectious. It also helped that the magic was beginning to spread waves of pleasure through his body. It was such a powerful feeling, to impose one's own will upon another. It helped especially when Tydus was dealing with an unsavoury merchant. Not that his skill was ever enough to lower costs significantly. In a two hundred miza purchase, they probably received a seven to eight miza discount from Tydus' words.
He glanced over at Kel as the ale splashed into his face, mockingly draining his own glass as it occurred, winking at both Kel and the woman before he decided to act. He whistled softly to attract the woman's attention once again, though the woman took a moment to cool off. Accepting this, Tydus looked over at his friend, "You're a right master at the art of communication, huh, Kel? I guess that's where I'd come in handy. But, first. Let's... make things fun, no?" He chuckled at his friend once again before he whistled a second time, the noise louder, which momentarily attracted the attention of those in his vicinity, "Oi', lass. Turn around, wanna get another look at that pretty face of yours." He expected the violent reaction, the woman's eyes filled with fire as she parted her lips to speak. But, Tydus was too quick for her. He raised a single finger to press against her lips, a soothing 'shhh' emanating from his lips.
Again, he held her in his gaze. He exuded his presence, Laviku-blessed eyes bored into the woman's gaze again as Tydus focused his djed into the orbs once again. The eyes began to strain from the motion, just slightly as the edges of his vision blurred. But, this allowed him to, for the moment, narrow his focus. You don't have much time before you begin to strain yourself too much. One more push, then we can run out. The Svefra's hand moved from the woman's lips, caressing her cheek as he leaned forward, lowering his voice to a hushed whisper,
"Dear... Yer' not very smart ta' be splashing ale into the face of a Svefra. 'Specially my buddy here. He's not just a right bastard by words. Anyway, you will calm down. Breathe in, and relax. You're free to explode once we're out the door." The Svefra winked at the woman, willing the djed to disperse from his eyes, his vision still blurred, though the Svefra inched forward, slowly pressing his lips to hers. He held the kiss for ten ticks without protest, though a moment later, the woman pushed him away, "GET OUT. GET OUT RIGHT NOW." she hissed at the two, picking up the empty mug that Tydus had been using and waving it threateningly.
Amusement materialized upon the Svefra's features as he looked to his friend, "Should we listen to her? I got what I wanted. A lovely kiss from a lovely lady... I'll go after the waitress next time." He winked at his fellow Svefra before he rose from the bar stool, prepared to leave when Kel was ready.- Tydus Tempest

Day 1 of Spring in the Year 514 AV
Kel snorted, “I have a subtle charm with the ladies, they’re just a little dense, that’s all. They can’t see it right away.”
He shook his head, sighing because of the lack of understanding that was being ushered his way. He watched in amusement as Tydus interacted with the woman.
He burst out laughing as the Tempest pod member placed a single finger against the woman’s lips. She seemed too shocked too move. Had Kel tried that maneuver, he would have surely have had his finger bitten. Tydus always seemed to know exactly what to do. Kel had always admired that about him but he wasn’t about to tell him that.
“GET OUT GET OUT RIGHT NOW.” The livid barmaid hissed at them. She raised the empty mug and waved it in the air. They both stood and took a couple steps away from the bar. Kel grabbed his trident and Jenkins followed behind him. But the black haired Svefra turned around and couldn’t resist having the last word.
Kel snorted, “Please. What are yeh’ gonna do? It’s empty, woman. Yeh’ no, no more ale to waste on me.” He wiggled his eyebrows at her. She growled angrily and threw the mug at him. He yelped and ducked, mug barely missing his head. He looked at where the mug shattered against the floor and then looked up. He saw the owner of the tavern whip his head around and jump to his feet at the sound of the crash.
“Oh great Laviku, time to go Tydus…” Kel looked at his longtime friend and grinned. He turned to the barmaiden and bowed gallantly.
“It’s been a pleasure.”
The owner of the tavern looked at them angrily and began heading over in their direction. Kel laughed once more and hastily ducked through the door, into the night. He strode away from the room, hoping Tydus was close behind. When they were far enough away, Kel looked over at him.
“Alright, so what’s our game plan. You said you didn’t have anywhere to stay. I have plenty of room on the Laviku’s Wrath. It’s up to you if you want to stay.”

Laughter sounded from the Svefra's lips as Kel mentioned his subtle charm with the ladies. Nothing about his brother-in-bond was subtle. From the extravagant trident he wielded straight to the manner he carried himself. Ty loved it about the Svefra, that he was so utterly unchained, liberated from the standards of worldly living.
In truth, Kel was a Svefra to his very core. Tydus, on the other hand, was a bit more... reflective. It was a direct result of having learned the principles of Hypnotism, but perhaps... with Kel around, he could recover some of it. When Kel spoke Common to the woman again, eager to get his last words, Tydus laughed again, his grin spread further across his features. He had not smiled so much in the past year, let alone the recent past.
The mug sailed past Kel's head, shattering on the ground, a sound which brought attention to them. As Kel spoke to him in Fratava, he nodded, snickering for a final time as the other got one last word in before the pair bolted. Once they were clear out of the tavern, a short way's away, he listened to the Fratava-uttered words again, nodding in understanding. There was an eagerness there, a place to live that was on the water.
A small ship to voyage into the ocean, with his best friend, no less. The plans that bubbled to the surface were to be ignored for a moment, the Svefra nodding as he looked around. He hadn't realized just how close the Suvan Suites were to the Blue Bull, the Svefra managing a grin as he replied,
"Yes, I think that living aboard Laviku's Wrath is the best idea. But, first, brother. Mind if we stop by the Suvan Suites? Adney, the remaining member of my Pod, still has his room in the place. We can probably find him around there. The innkeeper isn't on the best terms with me, but we can work it out. I always do, right?"
The Svefra allowed his friend to consider his words, Tydus utilizing the time himself. Eyes closed as he willed them to rest for a moment, to counter-act the strain that was ailing him. It was by no means serious, but it was... something, at the very least. A slight problem that needed to be resolved.
"Adney's a bit... different from the both of us. He's younger, for one. But, give him a chance, Kel. He's probably the only family I have left." A weak sigh escaped him before he steeled himself again, a finger pointed towards the entrance of the Suvan Suites before leading Kel across the threshold.- Tydus Tempest
