Drumthroat?
The sea predator was not easy to spot and name from where Tydus stood, but when the Svefra woman named the beast, immediately a chill ran down his spine. It was a large beast, unable to be controlled by the mark of Oceanus upon the Svefra's shoulder, nor by anyone else's. It was a powerful beast capable of great damage, but the Tempest was unsure of what sort of damage or how it was done. He cared not, intent on just getting himself and the rest of the Svefra the petch out of these waters. Maybe the shark wouldn't chase after them once Callipsia and her bleeding body was out of the water. He saw from the corner of his eye as Kel seemed to nearly salivate at the opportunity of fighting the predator, and Tydus was not one to discourage the notion. If it meant getting the Tempest women out of the water, they could use the distraction.
Besides, it'd make a good story in the end. How Tydus Tempest and the Tempest Pod destroyed the mighty Drumthroat? Classic.
A chuckle escaped the Svefra's lips as the situation seemed to dim in its threat capacity, adrenaline pulling at the Svefra's system as a fight or fight reflex pushed into his mind. His body decided to fight, and so his arms pulled harder at the rope keeping the women tethered to the casinor. Each pull brought them closer and closer as the Tempest pulled Callipsia and Nerida on board. Immediately after the task was done, he reached towards the side of the ship, finding one of the light harpoons and waving it around frantically.
Good thing Kel has these, we'll launch them out of the mounted cross he has.
Tydus was by no means a shooter, but he figured it was best to have the weapon and try than to simply stand there and be useless. Tydus ran towards the heavy crossbow, fitting the harpoon into the weapon's loading bay and aiming the thing with his arms. There was a lever which acted as the device's trigger, and Tydus held his hand close to it, shouting out at Kel,
"Distract the bastard! I'll get in a shot and ye can finish it off!"
He took control of the situation by necessity, his voice barking out the order without conscious effort of it, his hands shaking on the cross as he fixed it on the drumthroat, which continued tearing apart at the raft, not quite realizing that its prey was gone until Tydus shouted out.
The Tempest's voice seemed to awaken it to this fact, the beast quickly destroying what was left of the raft before making its way to the casinor, intent on taking its meal.
