Kol of the Tempered Steel
Appearance Race: Myrian Gender: Male Age: 26 Birthday: 61st of Fall, 489 A.V. Birthplace: Taloba Appearance: Perhaps the form of this Myrian would indeed look appealing, however to most, Kol is not exactly a charming persona. He is not just tall -- he is looming -- his crossed arms and distancing glare enough to grab attention and warn those foolish enough to wander too close. His jaw is usually tight and locked, a common sight meaning a struggle to control frustration almost always felt by the male. He stands out among many of the men in his race, his height matching many of the females, yet he knows where he stands. At 6'3", with broad shoulders and muscles, there is no doubt that Kol is indeed a warrior. Or was. His hands which were once constantly stained by blood are now wrapped in red cloth, a symbolic reminder of his dedication to his goddess, his family, and his traditions. Now that he may soon be out and away from Taloba, Kol still holds strong to his Myrian roots. Long hair tied back into a neat pony tail and tattoos that wrap around from his back and shoulder, there is no denying who he is. Preferring simple attire, usually in more earth tones, he tries to blend in as well as he can, more out of respect to the Tempered Steel matriarch than anything else. Kol also has a tattoo of his whip coiling around the stems of a flower. His mark of Myri rests on his right bicep. Spring 514 A.V. :
Kol received two new scars during this season.
1) Thin white scar, going across his right palm - Received when trying to fend off a yukmen and grab his dagger. 2) Scar indenting on his left shoulder - Given when attacked by a Yukmen, Kol now wears a mark that looks strangely like a bite mark... Summer 514 A.V. :
Kol received one new scar this season.
1) Scar on his left ankle from an encounter with an Akila hound. 2) Kol cut his hair in mourning for his sister, Dahlia. It is now short and messy, hanging just below his ears. Character Concept Kol is strong. He is smart and tactical. He wields his bladed whip with precision and deadly intent. He does not second guess himself, and he takes pride in his capabilities. However, he is littered with flaws. Kol does not take no for an answer very well. He does not apologize, and he is quick to anger or grow jealous. He is possessive to the point that it you touch any of his things, he will instantly grow irritated or furious. The Myrian is insensitive and abrasive. He speaks more in grunts and nods than actual words, and there is nothing about his personality that he does not see as necessary. Despite his obsessive, unyielding tendencies, Kol is dedicated, passionate, resourceful and loyal to his kin. He would kill for his own, and die trying if necessary. He believes that anything worth doing, is worth doing right. You should put your whole self into the task at hand, from ripping apart your enemies to bathing in their blood. Only, there are a few things that no matter how hard he tries, even Kol has difficulties understanding. At a social level, Kol has a hard time conversing. While he speaks the old language fluently, and common at a poor level, both skills are lacking, and not just due to absence of knowledge. No matter who he talks with, Kol is likely to make the other party uncomfortable. If he finds you attractive, he will stare or take a bold course of action. Just don't expect him to buy you a drink any time soon. The Myrian does not understand the intricacies of communication and makes many faux pas. He would be more likely to challenge you to a fight, if anything. If he dislikes you, he will glare and also challenge you to a fight. Because of this, he has no friends to speak of, and romantic activity is pursued out of necessity, and less for companionship. Kol does not know how to feel about woman. Some would say he respects them too much, a result of his upbringing. Others would say he scares any none Myrian woman away and would be hopeless if he was in a new environment. He likes to think it is because he is looking for his equal. Character History Kol was the first born of six children, all the others female. He holds no resentment towards this and although many of his sisters can now take care of themselves, he watched over them growing up. He trained with them outside, and nodded with pride when the first two passed their birth blooding and jungle trials. For his own birth trial, his blood was drawn on a bladed whip, the shaman foretelling his future personality and then later Kol was given the weapon and it has never left his side. He passed his Trial through Jungle like other young adults in his clan at age 16, returning at dawn on the second day to complete the blood ceremony. Otherwise his childhood was fairly standard. His mother doted a bit more on the girls, but that was to be expected. It gave Kol his own sort of freedom which he embraced, using it as an opportunity to complete his military service and settle in to Taloba as a young male.
