Anna had been at first rather surprised by Edreina’s wide grin, not having expected being claimed as a wizard’s punching bag to be something she would relish in. The sorceress was more used to fear and despair for those that were to spar against her, those two fools in the Elements Sanctum coming to mind. A pang of hurt sparked through her heart as she remembered the dying expression of Lea, the light of her life flickering out while she had been helpless to do anything for her. Anna had no intension of killing the woman before her; this was just a little test of ability and to see if she was strong enough to be considered worth the sorceress’ time.

Amusement flicked over her features at the opening of the red head’s lips after being informed that this was indeed a spar, apparently her idea of hands on practice was different than Anna’s. Then again her idea of practice had come from her run in with Roknus Maelstrom in the Elements Sanctum. He was a mad man, but he was a reimancer one simply had to respect no matter what their personal feelings about his mental state. In a way, Anna viewed him as not only an obstacle to surpass but as her second teacher of the ways of Sahova.

The sorceress frowned slightly at the mention of other skills, feeling her pride prickle just a little at even the mere suggestion that her abilities were not already beyond amazing. Still there was some logic to the other woman’s words, a wizard of her abilities needed to be ever improving though she’d never admit that aloud. Instead she simply stroked her chin for a moment, pondering over the prospect for a moment before nodding.

“I take no issue in this, though the trick will be to actually use these talents of yours. My suggestion is that you focus on your reimancy, you will need it far more than these other skills.” The tall woman said before widening her stance.

Anna turned her body, spreading her legs so that one foot was pointed outwards towards her opponent and the other was pointed behind her. Her arms were held you before her and her grey eyes were focused upon the red haired woman before her, her breathing being taken in through her nose and out through her mouth in a basic meditative form of breathing. It was designed to clear her mind, to make her casting just a little more easily controlled.

“Let us begin.” The tall woman said, already unraveling the tapestry of her Djed and forcing it outwards.

A little over a tick later purple translucent liquid started to pool with frightening speed around her hands and feet, carried and sped along by the powerful personal augments. The res around her hands crept up her arms and then moved to float in the air nearby while the res around her feet seeped between her toes and into the ground itself, placed there just in case those aforementioned talents involved close quarters combat. The res in the air was quickly and masterfully shaped into two large balls of shimmering liquid, which Anna moved to either side of her. Taking a page from Maelstrom’s book she shaped the balls into the forms of two liquid wolves with one on each side. She willed the res that made them up into two layers, and ignited the outer one.

Bright purple flames sparked into existence around the wolves and the sorceress quickly willed them outwards towards Edreina, the res located in their cores allowing her to hold near total control over them. A pleasant buzz filled her mind as she sent the fire wolves outwards, the euphoria of casting still having yet to reach its highest point. It was unlikely it would here, not in this fight against this woman as those spells were enough to level buildings. No she was holding back at the moment, figuring herself to be safe no matter what her opponent did against her. The hubris of a powerful wizard no doubt, the downfall of so many like her.

The fire wolves would approach Edreina from either side, waiting for the last possible moment before lunging at her. Anna for her part merely watched, preparing herself for retaliation.

This was it. Her first true test.

Edreina forced her breath to still as the wizard adjusted her stance, leveling the mood around them, impressing the fact that this was real. As she would before a dive, Edreina started to do more than just slow each nervous breath that trembled into her lungs. In through her mouth, until her chest swelled and she felt her muscles straining, and then out her nose, focused, calm, steady. Her body was filled and then emptied of air in this peculiar way
for endless ticks. It centered her, reminded her of how much power filled the world around her, filled her, and could be controlled and manipulated by her. It was a heady feeling that gave her some measure of confidence.

As Res sprinted from Annalisa's pores, Edreina had to fight the urge to run. It happened so quickly and there was just so much of it! How in the hells could she ever compete with that, let alone stand and face it. No... Even if she could not win, she had to try. With a keen eye, she noted the Res that slipped into the earth and stiffened, preparing for an attack from below. Her keen feet flexed in anticipation for even a minor shift, acting as if she were on the deck of a ship, hoping it would foretell any attack.

And then, her heart leapt into her ears, panic flared briefly in her eyes before being crushed beneath an oceanic determination; it may waver and roll and roil, but it never truly fled. Instead of a ribbon or ball of Res, the woman had somehow crafted two violet wolves, bristling and snarling with tongues of garish flame. Wolves brought more fear into her heart than any shark ever had. They were strange and foreign to her with whims and a lust for blood she could not predi-

Focus! They are not wolves in truth; a woman controls them.

She had to move, to act. The wolves were closing in and already she could feel their heat. Naturally, she did what any full-blooded Svefra would. A leap carried her over the wolves and two strides to the water. She wanted to dive into it, get herself submerged quickly, but she knew not the depth. Legs went into the water first, then the rest of her quickly as she found the water to be relatively deep.

Her gnosis exploded outwards like a 6th sense, letting her gain a sense of the creatures around her. They were strange and immediately she felt several take note of her, begin rushing in her direction. It was not a wary, curious approach, but a viscous, innately hungry attack. Her blood trilled in her veins and she paddled sharply to the side, away from where she had entered.

She had to move quickly, she knew. To avoid the creatures racing towards her and the mage on the stone above. With strength brought from a lifetime of hauling herself from the water into a boat, she caught hold of the lip of the ledge and pulled herself onto the stone, on to her knees. Powerful legs pushed her forward, from a crouch to a dead sprint. Her posture was low for balance, moving on her toes in a faint zigging motion to keep the mage distracted.

Edreina did not possess the skill to draw Res on the fly, nor the skill to transmute without an instant's hesitation. Her other talents had to come into play.

Her right fist lashed out first, a straight jab aimed at the woman's shoulder in an attempt to knock her off balance. Her feet skipped as she danced back and away. Less than a tick later, she was back, more powerful left arm snapping forward in an attempt to land a blow on the woman's elegant jaw.

The Svefra dared risk no more. Blue eyes hard and focused, she skipped backwards and away again, arms poised to bat away a physicalblow and legs bent to drop beneath or jump out of the way of any magical one. She was at a disadvantage, but that did not mean she would not do her best to make her teacher proud. There was a definite challenge in her eyes, as well, one that declared she would not be beat without one hell of a fight.

Anna was actually completely taken by surprise when Edreina dove into the water to avoid her fiery wolves, which had lunged at the woman at the last moment with the remainder of the res inside being expanded outwards and transmuted to flame. The violent flames hit nothing as the ripples on the water signaled her opponent had dove into the treacherous waters around Sahova. Slight incredulity filled her as Anna knew well the Hatchet Fish would likely make short work of the other woman, her Djed being as blood to a shark’s nose. The tall woman was already drawing liquid res into her hands, prepared to drag her sorry arse out of the water.

The next instant the red head exploded from the water, landing on the rocky shore and then starting a dead sprint towards Anna. Water droplets glistened in the sunlight and the sorceress was rather caught by surprise, her reflexes not kicking in until Edreina was right in her face. A swift punch was delivered to the tall woman’s shoulder, having a bit of a dramatic effect due to her stumbling backwards. The blow combined with the back pedaling had her spin to the ground, a fist connecting with the side of her jaw as she did and sending a flare of pain through her face.

She was on her hands and knees and facing away from her opponent, but that would have been foolish to take as a defeat. Anna felt dazed and she clutched her jaw with a free hand, rubbing it to try and alleviate the discomfort. Purple gaseous res radiated out from the pores of her body, when she turned her head to gaze at the other woman with dangerously narrow grey eyes there was res generating from them as well. The tall woman was steadily drawing on the pool of her res, unraveling the tapestry of her being though her mind was clouded by anger.

“You are, ah, quick on your feet. Let’s, ow, see if you are nimble enough for this though.” Anna growled out, pain flaring from her jaw.

The tall woman slapped a hand onto the rocky surface of the ground, willing a combination of attraction and transmutation to occur with the res beneath her. The ground split open and from the cracks six earthen projectiles the size and shape of fists launched themselves at Edreina, moving fast for being made of stone for the most part. Anna willed them to slow just a bit before reaching Edreina, keeping control via the remaining res within. She didn’t want to kill her after all; that would gain her nothing while dragging this out a bit would teach her something.

Slowly she stood and willed the gaseous res to gather above their little battle, willing it to attract the air around it and raised her right hand in the air. She circled it regally above her, the gesture lazy but signaling the attracted air to be drawn in a circular current above the pair of combatants. The wind rushed up around them as Anna brought the gesture to completion by sharply slicing her arm downwards at the other woman, willing the current to blow towards Edreina. At the last moment she transmuted some of the gaseous res as well to a blast of compressed air, hoping that it would blow her off her feet and off her balance.

Anna had a savage smirk on her face, the urge in her skull whispering to her and urging her onwards to greater feats of casting. She was not yet at her limit, but the most dangerous thing about reimancy was losing control of one’s self in the heat of the moment. The sorceress was normally very well controlled but in combat things tended to get more than a little heated, and pain mixed with casting often led to losing control just a bit.

New Arrivals (Edreina, Razkar)

Edreina was not surprised to have landed one blow. But both? Either the woman was far less physically skilled than she had expected or there was a trick in the wizard's mind. At first, Edreina thought that the palm slap was one of frustration. Then, the ground started to tremble faintly and shake. Fractures split the rock and the Svefra stepped lightly from one slab of whole rock to another, eyes flicking from the ground to the woman and back.

Suddenly, there was a weighted whistling and Edreina's heart leapt into her throat. The first stone caught her off guard, crashing into her forearm as she tried to deflect it, already stepping to the side and away from the second. Her arm screamed with pain from the impact, but she kept her lips closed, her composure held tight around her. The third Edreina was able to sway back and out of the path of as it hurtled past her, same with the fourth. But the fifth and sixth caught her in the shoulder and the hip, wrenching her body one way and then the other. The Svefra had stumbled over a crack as she tried to focus on tracking the projectiles. She would have fallen to the ground had her leg not come back instinctively, adjusting her balance.

Her left hip thobbed and groaned whenever she put weight on it, her hip had been knocked numb, for the moment. While her chest was still heaving and her limbs still trembled as she tried to regain control of her body, the Svefra was hit with a powerful gust of air, knocking her off her feet and onto her arse with a breathless huff.

Instead of whimpering in pain, Edreina smiled. It was weak and trembling, but certainly there as she lurched to her knees. Razkar had taught her that each pain gained in a spar was a pain saved in a battle later on. From there, she rose to her feet, swaying gently as she adjusted to the pain in her hip. Red hair wet and dripping whirled around her with the remnants of the disturbed air's force, giving her a wild look.

Her breath slowed, and focused. Each throb of pain actually helped to bring her to her center as they moved with each beat of her heart. The Svefra reached deep within herself, to the rolling waves of the Ocean Within. There lay her spirit, her soul, her Djed. Her life force ebbed and flowed within her like a great tide, containing the power to wash away entire shorelines. One day. Power was intoxicating, Edreina knew. She had to learn to fight its draws even as she gave into the power itself. It was like drinking wine with hopes of being able to resist intoxication.

Slowly, gentle tendrils of an ephemeral gold started to sway out and away from her fingertips as she directed the Djed through her now defiant shoulder, into her screaming forarm, and down into her hand. Each throb of pain was equitable, in her mind's eye, to a throb of Djed becoming physical. The Res tilted and danced, forming a small cloud, a glittering nimbus around her hand. Slowly, she started to close her hand and, with that motion, condense the Res into a golden glob that broke into little droplets and pieces before reforming again and again.

Steeling herself, Edreina lunged forward, pulling her Res along with her like a newly grown limb. As she moved, she clumsily brought her Res to hover over her shoulder, positioning it even as her plan formed. Edreina dodged out and to the side, spinning to make the movement more efficient and in an attempt to perhaps deflect any attacks launched at her. When she stopped, bare feet sliding along the rough stone, she paused only long enough to note the position of her foe's body.

If possible, she would throw the entirety of her weight into a hard jab at the woman's stomach. If not, she would aim to grab her shoulder's first, perhaps her hair, and yank her torso down sharply as she brought her knee up. In any case, the moment her body connected with her foe's, she would fling her Res forward towards Annalisa's mouth and nose, transmuting it as it flew so that she would, hopefully, inhale a mouthful of water as she gasped in surprise or pain. If her aim was off or she transmuted the water too soon, the wizard would end up only with a wetted front; hopefully, the wizard Marin would appreciate her attempts, none the less. If Edreina cast, she would be touched by a wave of exhaustion and, despite her best efforts, it would add a slight slump to her shoulders even as she stood ready to face her opponent again.

This was all assuming that she managed to land a blow. If something else arose, Edreina would do her best to flit out of arm's reach of the woman, keeping her Res at her side so that she could use it in the future, somehow.

Anna watched Edreina recover from the attack, pleased as she got back up from the assault of reimancy with a smile on her face. She was still rather irritated that her opponent had yet to draw any res; realistically in a fight like this Anna knew that she could have ended it. A bit of lightning or ice disks would likely have killed her opponent, but that was hardly the point of this fight. The point was to exercise some manner of restraint, to remain controlled and collected in the heat of battle. At the moment that meant keeping her spells small and non-lethal.

The tall woman quirked an eyebrow as her opponent attempted to draw her res, an arrogant smirk crossing her face as she noticed the amount of concentration and power she needed to put into it. She was fighting someone so far beneath her in terms of reimantic ability there was really no comparison. She shook her head as she moved the liquid res coating her hands outwards and began to radiate more gaseous res. Tugging at her Djed was easy at the point, pushing it outwards to form res from her body was almost like breathing. Aided by the augment Glyphs trailing down her body she was some kind of monster of magic.

“Your generation is slow and ponderous. Whoever your instructor was clearly they were of inferior skill, irresponsible to their student, or a complete fool. Typical of the Nuit really, I shouldn’t be surprised.” The sorceress said as Edreina finished, sounding less like a gloating enemy and more like a disapproving teacher.

Her opponent lunged into action, though Anna did not move her res to attack as now she was confident in her position of control. Instead she clasped her hands behind her back and watched her opponent’s movements carefully, willing the cloud of res above her head to remain there. The res the other woman controlled was kept close to her body, though that hardly surprised Anna as those of lesser skill were limited by zone of control. At any rate she already had a counter and follow up firmly in mind, intent not to let the other woman lay a finger on her person again.

The sorceress would wait until the other woman was much closer and just about ready to strike out before moving the purple cloud outwards towards her like a wall, utilizing attraction and transmutation to create an even stronger blast of air directed at Edreina. The hope was also that the action would send the weakly controlled golden res the other woman had away from her form and zone of control. The back draft would blow past Anna’s face, whipping up her hair in a frenzy and granting her a rather powerful appearance.

Unfortunately, even as the transmutation occurred the other woman managed to get a jab in on her stomach which caused Anna to double over. Likely the air had cushioned some of the damage but it still petching hurt and it caused the two balls of liquid res to shudder and shift violently. Spots danced before her eyes as she held a hand to her gut and coughed a bit, irritated that she had misjudged the distance and taken damage. That rarely happened, though obviously her opponent was not stranger to the arts of combat.

Still the sorceress held control of her two balls of purple glistening res and willed them to shatter into dozens of purple droplets; from here she would attempt to surround her opponents form with them. If she succeeded Anna would then will them to change, focusing on the concepts of both water and air to cool and shape them into ridged spike like shapes. The outer layer shimmered for a bit until each droplet had been transformed into a small shard of ice.

Her intension was to force a surrender, the hope being the other woman would recognize there being a difficulty in continuing when so surrounded. Of course her opponent had proven resourceful so far, Anna noted with a rueful rub to her gut. It was best not to underestimate this red haired woman anymore, though the sorceress was finding herself gaining a bit of curiosity towards her. Edreina was a poor reimancer, but made up for that in other ways and that was enough to gain the tall woman’s interest for good or ill.

New Arrivals (Edreina, Razkar)

The gust that caught Edreina and brought her up off of her feet briefly could not wipe the smirk from her face even as the sudden gust fractured her concentration and allowed her Res to disappear into nothingness. Again, she had managed to savage the woman with her fist; the Svefra had felt her knuckles against the woman's soft stomach. The gust moved her back only a pace, bringing her to her knee as her hand splayed on the stone, seeking to find some sort of grip until it's force abated.

Her body quaked faintly from such varied exertion, but still she did not yield. Something shimmering caught her eye, and she looked up, flicking her hair from her face, to see herself surrounded by a ring of hovering spikes made from glassy ice. She looked through the ring to the wizard controlling them, blue eyes still even as her mind whirled, seeking a solution to the threat before her. Her fingers moved slowly, silently across the stones, seeking anything that could aid her. After all, she was a brawler; the environment of her fights were half of the skill itself. Some relied on acrobatics or strength to win their fight, Edreina hoped to be smarter than her enemy if even for a half-tick.

Using the last of the Djed she dare use, Edreina began to work at the hopes of her sparring partner. Her body slumped further, her hand closed tight and then was brought to her chest, cradled as she sought to protect her bruised arm and shoulder. Again, the protests of her body helped her to focus, to begin to control and manipulate the Djed within her. She pulled the fire from her eyes, from her freckled features. After fighting Razkar so many times, the redhead had learned well the way her face felt and her body fell as she finally surrendered to her master.

The next part was tricky. Edreina had heard it was possible but rarely attempted it, herself. Even then, it had been met with limited success. Instead of giving the subject a single, vague emotion, Edreina would suggest a train of thought. It was not a true thought, but a subliminal suggestion that would, hopefully, lead Annalisa to act as Edreina desired.

You've won...

When combined with her physical stance, the subtle thread of subliminal sensation would, hopefully, bring Anna out of the battle mindset and into the one of an egotistical wizard preparing to gloat or to impart some words of wisdom upon the student. Edreina waited a few ticks, hoping and praying, utterly still.

She did not say aloud that she had conceded. That would have broken every rule of sparring that she knew with what would follow.

In the span of a tick, Edreina rose to her feet, visage shifting once again as she brought the arm by her chest back and then flicked it forward again, fingers unfurling. Four small stones hurtled at Anna, seeking, not to harm her, but to fracture her concentration. Without it, she would not be able to level Edreina with those damned spikes. Or... so she hoped.

The instant after the rocks left her hand, Edreina darted forward, brushing away any of the spikes she could that were in her way, spinning sharply in hopes of deflecting the rest. If Razkar was paying close enough attention, he would surely note the similarities between this approach and one that had been used on him a short time in the past. Edreina aimed to tackle Annalisa. Yes, tackle her. This spar was coming to an end, one way or another, and the Svefra hoped that she would get in one more move before she lost.

Her weight dropped with her shoulders as she hoped to slam into the woman's thighs, destroying her balance and using her superior strength to lift the woman up, wrapping freckled arms about her legs in the same motion. She would then proceed to do as Razkar had instructed and drop the woman on her back, hopefully knocking her breathless. If all of this went as planned, she would rush forward to put the arch of her foot on the woman's chest or throat, holding her in a vulnerable position beneath the redhead's glittering blue gaze. Despite the screaming in her shoulder and arm and whatever actions the wizard would answer with, Edreina's chest heaved to pump air through her smiling lips. If she managed to accomplish it, anything that followed would be unable to wipe the grin from her lips.

Anna stared hard at Edreina, willing the spikes to draw closer by a few fractions just to increase the intimidation factor and try to push her opponent to yield. The dark haired woman narrowed her grey eyes and watched as the red haired woman considered it. Her options seemed rather limited to the situation she was now in, surrounded by a superior wizard’s spells and likely to die. All she needed was her submission, her words spoken that she was the one who had lost and Anna had won against this strange woman. She drew herself up to her full height, flaring pain in her gut radiating out from the blow previously suffered.

The sorceress herself watched as the woman gained a rather defeated appearance, her shoulders slumping in just the right angle and her face down cast. An arrogant smirk split across Anna face, the subliminal hypnotic suggestion blending well with her current mindset. She had won and she knew it was going to happen, she had known that she would crush this lesser wizard easily enough. Her hands crossed under her breasts, rocking slightly on her heels as she tried to ignore the physical discomfort throughout her entire body.

She looked the part of the arrogant wizard, the spikes of ice spinning slightly around the other woman as a mark of her triumph here. Then again, it had only been a matter of time before the sorceress would have crushed the other woman in combat considering her superiority in regards to reimancy. Still, she could afford to be magnanimous and grant the other woman valued insight into the ways of reimancy, it was only proper after all.

Anna opened her mouth to start on a lesson, however her eyes widened in surprise as rocks were sent hurtling towards her, her first thought being that her opponent had deceived her about her capabilities and was actually a much stronger reimancer. The rocks pelted her, causing her to lose concentration for a fraction of a tick but it was all her opponent needed as an opening for an attack. The tall sorceress grunted in surprised when the red head barreled into her, feeling herself lifted up and slammed upon the rocky ground. Events happened so quickly that really it all seemed a blur, the only thing she knew was that she, a Chaon of Rhysol had been out duped in combat by another.

The tall woman was dazed and confused a bit when she was slammed upon the ground, her mind jarred by the action. She attempted to rise but found the arch of Edreina’s foot firmly pressed across her throat, her flesh still soaking from her little dive. The sorceress felt her airway constrict slightly in a warning, her hands instinctively wrapping around the other woman’s ankle and lower calf to try and shove her off to no avail. Physical strength was not Anna’s forte and faced with superior physical strength used in a take down like this there was absolutely nothing she could do.

She growled and bared her teeth, still trying to just push her opponent off though at this point the fact that she had just gotten her backside handed to her by a lesser wizard was sinking in. It was probably the greatest indignity she had suffered in a long while, but this also marked yet another defeat against a fellow wizard. First it had been that idiot Tallis, and then it had been Roknus Maelstrom, now she was literally at the mercy of Edreina, who could barely draw res properly and had still managed to best her in single combat. It was staggeringly devastating to her pride, enraging her really.

After about half a chime trying to push her opponent off Anna simply slumped back and let her arms fall out to the side. Grey eyes flashed in anger, though there was something else behind them that conveyed not exactly respect but acknowledgement that she herself had been beaten. It was a very bitter pill to swallow, but really she didn’t have much choice as there was no way she logically could win here. Even if she drew res it would just take a little more pressure to constrict her airway, which would break her concentration. No, Edreina had won this round unfortunately and there was nothing Anna could do about it.

“I yield.” The tall woman growled out, staring up at the red head in irritation and feeling her pride die just a little bit more at this.

The wizard's soft hands about the Svefra's honey-toned ankle, and Edreina could not help but smirk faintly. Her balance was far too strong for the wizard to knock her off. If the woman started to pull forth violet Res, Edreina would increase the pressure of her foot on the woman's throat ever so slightly. The darker haired woman bared her teeth ferociously, attempting to physically remove the redhead without avail. Edreina remained motionless while the one-sided battle raged, allowing the wizard to exhaust herself.

Finally, the woman's strength or will ebbed, but Edreina did not move her foot; she would not fall for the same trick she herself had used moments earlier. A thunderstorm and whirling ocean clashed as two sets of eyes met. Edreina could tell that the woman resented her, perhaps, but that she had accepted her fate an instant before the words left her lips.

“I yield.”

No more words were needed on Anna's part, and Edreina's foot left her throat. In the same moment, Edreina stooped and offered her hand to the downed woman. There was no arrogance in her face, no silent bragging twinkling in her eyes, only admiration, odd though it may have been. If Annalisa chose to take the Svefra's offer, she would be helped to stand and steadied, if need be.

Finally, Edreina would step away with a small smirk on her face. She had never won a fight, so she knew not how to react. Razkar was always very cocky after he won, but quick to offer advice as well and tell her what she could have done better. Instinct told her that gloating of any sort would lead to a sore situation between her and the egotistical wizard. So, she chose the more humble approach to her victory. "You fought well, Annalisa Marin," she said quietly, hands locking behind her back. "I truly thank you for the challenge."

Oddly enough, Edreina did not want for this to be the last time she saw Annalisa. The woman had provided her with an entirely new breed of challenge when it came to combat. "If..." her voice trailed off, lower lip catching between her teeth as she pondered whether or not the woman would be offended by her offer. "If you'd like, I can teach you the basics of close quarters combat... I would certainly appreciate any advice you're willing to offer on the subject of Reimancy. I'll be leaving in a few days but, until then, I will be upon the vessel you noted earlier."

Though Edreina removed her foot from Anna’s throat the sorceress still felt a prominent lump forming there, her irritation at having lost to what should have been considered an inferior opponent was lingering heavy on her mind. There were few things that irked the sorceress more than losing in any form of engagement, especially one like this where her skills were put out. She had lost because she had been caught outside of her realm, because the physical had entered into the comfort zone that was normally the meta-physical. Her glaring weakness at close quarters had been shown to Anna and it was a rather big flaw.

Grey eyes narrowed upon the offered hand, glaring up at Edreina and searching her face for any hint of smug superiority or gloating. She expected it honestly, wizards were an arrogant lot in general and she doubted that this woman was any exception. She could find none, no hidden mockery for the victory of the vaulted reimancer, no gloating over the victory she had claimed her. Anna caught something that looked more like polite respect or appreciation than anything else, which both annoyed and surprised her and provided a whirlwind of emotions that consumed her mind.

Anna took the other woman’s hand after staring at it for half a chime, groaning lightly as she felt the pain from the hits earlier radiate though her body. She felt rather sore from the spar, and actually that was rather a blessing as it detracted from the normally strong urge to cast that still swam within her mind. Her glare lessened slightly and as soon as she was on her feet she detached herself from the other woman, her pride only allowing so much contact. She crossed her arms under her breasts and looked away from Edreina, hearing her words and snorting slight.

“Indeed. I suppose I should thank you for it as well, Edreina the wandering Svefra. Also, for your reference, it’s Wizard Marin.” Anna grumbled already moving off to recover her clothing.

She bristled visibly, her hand freezing as it reached for her shirt when the other woman made her offer and she was glad for her back being turned to the Svefra as her eyes flashed dangerously. A whirl of chaotic emotion played out, indignation, anger, and confusion being chief among them as she allowed herself to briefly reflect on the offer. Anna considered the offer and had wonder exactly why it would have been made in the first place, why anyone would care to spend any more time than was necessary with a wretch like her. Anna knew deep down that she was a despicable example of humanity, a loathsome creature twisted by the need to please a dark and powerful god. As such she often assumed the worse when it came to others as well, that her own inner ugliness could exist within any.

Perhaps she saw Anna’s power as being worth something, so she was trying to strike up some kind of deal that the tall woman might teach her something. It was a very Sahovan mentality that led her to believe this, one that was filled with irrational paranoia and jumping at shadows. However it was not something the sorceress was willing to just cast out of hand, understanding that there were many ways she could benefit in understanding how to fight outside of magic. So she opted to seriously consider the offer despite any potential insulting undertones to it. After a long while she gripped her shirt and turned halfway to regard the red haired creature, grey eyes raking her form up and down once more before settling on her face.

“If those few days see you approach the Citadel, seek out the Gug Andjak and the Common Labs therein, odds are you’ll find me there most days.” Anna offered, a silent acceptance of the offer.

The dark haired woman slid her shirt back over her head, rolling her shoulders and wincing slightly at the soreness in one of them. Anna then slipped her sandals on and strode back up to Edreina, allowing herself a deep breath at what she was about to say and swallowing the chaotic urges to lay a curse upon the red haired woman. Slowly she extended her hand, meeting the red haired woman’s blue eyes with her stormy ones. When she spoke her voice regained its quality of smooth honey, ever the diplomat that Amaryllis had trained.

“It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Edreina, I look forward to our next meeting. Farewell for now.” Anna said, waiting until the Svefra would shake her hand before turning on her heel and departing as she attempted to pick through the confusion roaring in her skull.

OOCRight, this should be my last post here. A little short as far as threads go for me, but still I had fun. I look forward to the follow up. :)

Truth Hidden by a Mirage :
So first off, I forgot how much I love combat threads. This one was super fun lol. Second, +10 to Griffendor! Edreina that was an epic victory, and one to be proud of! It know magic is super powerful, and terrifying, but its like I keep saying if you have the will, and the creativity, you can still take down an opponent who outguns you. Lets not pretend here, Annalisa was the odds on favorite. She had Eddy out gunned, and she has loads more experience with magical combat. I was shocked and surprised by the results. Also mad props to you Anna for taking the loss so well. Not many players can do that, and that earns a huge respect bonus from me :). So few people understand that a good story does not mean your PC is the most bad ass, killer epic and winningest thing since Myri. A good storyteller, a good writer, knows and understands that the best stories are told by those who are willing to be realistic and fair in their own writing. 10 points to Slytherin lol.

So for your epic details and creativity Eddy got an extra point in Brawling, and the same goes for Anna and Reimancy. I may have missed a lore or two so if either of you too think something needs to be added please feel free to PM me!
