5th of fall 510AV
Securing Parkas to a post outside the tavern I gave him a pat. Allowing my Pavi tongue to entrance his long, smooth, white ears to settle and rest for now. Looking over his condition I took note of his tired body, his hooves a little long but nothing a good blacksmith couldn't fix. Shaking my head I gave my stud a tap on the hock before entering the tavern.

Looking around the room I can see various drunks and groups seated around the room. Most of the tables full, searching around my eyes cast upon an open one. Walking smoothly across I keep my eyes alert of any trouble stirring, not wanting any trouble. I was too new to this city to be making too much of a scene in that kind of mix. Moving to the table I climb onto the chair letting my tall frame stretch above the crowd. Opening my hands wide I keep calm before allowing my talented voice speak in the common tongue that I knew

"I'm looking to speak with a traveler that knows the land! If you can help me your welcome to sit in my presence," repeating my speech in Pavi I take my seat. I let the wooden chair rock back on it's hind legs, resting my hands on the arms while I leaned back against the wall. Wondering if anyone would come to help a Drykas mix in need.

The faint touches of a female voice touched Johns ears as he looked towards the female in question. She acted like a child in his view with not how she talked but her actions of just yelling off in the tavern about joining her presence. She clearly did not know how things went nor of the idea of travel.

She would had been seen as a trouble maker odds are if they kept up and a place full of off duty Syliran Knights was not the place you wanted to give any problems towards.

John, a simple young age human with blonde hair and light blue eyes wearing only simple cotton shirt and pants with black boots, moved towards the new person sitting down at the table. His eyes never leaving her green eyes.

"Try not to yell in this place, it tends to make people jumpy and with a room that always have off duty knights that is not the brightest of ideas someone would have unless you want to risk your limbs and life."

His voice was soft, it was always soft spoken in a normal event if one knew john. He had no weapons on his self nor did his looks pose any danger however he was more then safe with guards or not.

"Now, keep to one tongue I would say common. Now you seem to this area...care if you share your name or at least reason for being in the city miss?"

Looking over the young man that had choicen to grace her presences she took a moment to examine him. He didn't seem to harmful to her considering she was trained in this kind of thing. Moving her chair to rest on all fours she graced him with a smile. "I'll only give my name when I'm sure your reasons for sitting are to my liking. As for yelling I didn't intend to do anymore of that, but thanks for the concern"

Taking another scan of the room she let her hood fall down around her shoulders. Reveiling her tanned face and acid green snake eyes to him, rubbing at her inky locks she took a breath before continuing her reasoning to him. "I'm a wanderer. I've been moving from place to place for as long as I can remember, as for why I'm here I needed a break from worries. And maybe some help for a change."

Leaning against the back of her chair she let her words float in the air to him. This young man interested her in a way she couldn't understand. A human no doubt, she just had a feeling that he wasn't a Dhani in disguise trying to deceive her. Yet, she knew she still had to be careful just in case.

Was she weaving a lie to him? He had no idea yet he could try to test the deep waters of the truth as he listened to her. A wanderer meant so many things yet if she was truly a person that went place to place then she had to understand and know of ways to keep herself self from the dangers of the world.

Without even a thought John slowly warped his own Djed around his words as he talked to her next. Djed, the true fuel and life of his essence as a person and more so as a wizard. His magic could not be felt by the normal people of life, nor seen as if it was a firebolt yet ones with Auristics magic would see him like a bonfire in the night.

"What worries would one such as yourself have?" A simple question which John's goal was for her to relax. A simple suggestion to answer a question which was purely subliminal and would not be picked up on a conscious level unless they were ready for it.

He did not know if it would work even with his years of working with Hypnotism, only his family knew of his powers which he worked very hard on keeping his true secret in life but one never knew if his magic would work nor when but time would tell all.

Yet in the eyes of a normal person he did nothing as the words warped around her as he stayed in his seat talking with her. A simple normal human looking face smiling towards her.

Hearing his question she smiles at his youthful face, Ryjaoka wasn't use to this kind of behavior. Most often she was ignored and left to fend for herself rather than sit down and chat a while with another. Keeping her face calm she let her eyes drift to the table before answering. As if the answer was engraved in the warped wood, displaying her hidden secrets and truths. Looking back up at the man she smiled, something about him made her relaxed.

"Plenty of worries. Out there in the wilderness you never know what might happen if you let your guard down for even a moment," she explained before looking around again. Feel strangely calm she allowed her shoulders to drop a little. Her legs moving to stretch out a ways instead of standing at attention ready to bolt or fight.

"Something tells me that you've never traveled around have you?"

At her question he just shook his head slightly. He had a feeling that was just part of her answer with how she worded it but said nothing else for it.

"No, I have lived here and around the area but never really going out on my own. I may in time but for now I help run a little store."

What he did not say was that store had more books and artifacts then anywhere else almost. He enjoyed his time looking at the different items and working with selling said items.

"So why do you need someone who knows the land? Why not just stay a bit and enjoy what the city could offer? I am sure I have seen a few maps of laying around that can help but they don't talk like people. Really must get lonesome moving from place to place so much."

He was just talking as he kept his eyes upon her. He had no real goal as of yet other then talk but one could wonder what the pair could learn from each other in the end of things. He knew others would treat her odd with how she looked but he did not care of looks nor where one came from in the end as long as they did not try to harm him or others he knew of.

"You know I still don't know your name. yet I also have yet to give you mine...I am John."

John the name somehow fit his look, looking over him again she smiled. He really was different from most people she happened to by chance talk to. She couldn't remember the last time someone had actually told her their name by their own will. Casting her eyes back to his face she smiled again. "John, it suits you. I'm Ryjaoka."

Keeping her body calm she leaned forward in her chair letting her elbows rest against the table. "Your right though, traveling around is a lonely life. Or at least it would be for someone that was regularly talked to. I myself am never given much of a chance to speak to others, as you can clearly see I'm not the average Drykas," she stated calmly.

"That's partly why I need some that knows the land, I have something I would like to know more about; and in order for that to happen I need to travel to the region of Eyktol to the city of Ahnatep. The only trouble is I've never been to that region before." She confessed to him while she began to mess with her mothers cross around her neck. Something she often did when admitting a weakness to someone.

Straightening back up she looked towards him again this time with a questioning gaze. "Now you mentioned a store you run, tell me more about this shop. What exactly do you sell there?"

"Eyktol will take a few seasons or more to travel to even on horse back...and the watch tower is well...hard to use at times unless a god is backing you up I hear. Ryjaoka...I like it. The shop? Oh nothing special. I can take you there if you like. That is the best way to tell you as it is...well filled."

John's voice was soft yet his body was more then relaxed around Ryjaoka. "I can normally be found inside it helping people now and then. What I mainly sell is..books yet it has a lot more to offer yet the folks just don't know what to ask I think or even have the slightest idea..." He said very low to Ryjaoka so no one else would hear it as he leaned in to her.

"Care to go for a walk? Weather may rain later but some sights you may to see. Along with the idea of less people and you can get your bearings of the city layout."

He asked after a bit of looking around before back towards Ryjoka tilting his head to the right.

Listening to him explain about the distance to Eyktol made her grimace, she'd traveled quiet a ways to get here and wasn't looking for a longer trip. Maybe John was right after all, maybe now would be a good time to sit around the town and relax. Taking a note of his whispered words about the town she couldn't help but smile. She'd never known how to whisper what she felt, if it needed to be said it was heard by those she was speaking about. Than again most of the time that got her in trouble; or at least in places far from Endrykas.

Hearing about the books that he kept in his shop intrigued her curiosity, the passion of reading a good book was high on her likes list. Though she'd never carry one around she'd love to read a new one before she left this place. " Books huh, well you'll have to take me there sometime. Maybe while we walk around the city you can take me there," she smiled before standing. "Let us go."

As he pushed his chair back he offered his right hands towards her to help stand. "Then shall we?" He said with another flash of his smile as he moved outside the Rearing Stallion.

He had no goal of where to go but the day was nice, the city was filled inside the storm hold castle which you could only come and go with the main gates yet while it was odd to some for the most part no one minded. It was far safer this way then living in tents in the wild where anything could attack you.

John did lead her along the streets where stalls were up and about as they lead into part of the main castle. "This is the great barzaar, pretty much you can find a lot of things as he heads down into the basement of the castle yet you just need to know who to ask and what to look for.

Things from books, herbs, pets, even magical items could be found in some of the stalls around here." He told her as he walked by her side, his eyes spotting a few knights here and there yet if one did pay mind they would see the knights were more of a common thing in or out of armor yet they would not stop anyone unless it was breaking a law.

He stopped by one of the stalls, his fingers touching along different wine bottles. A red wine, cherry wine, black wine of sorts all at his finger tips as the vender looked on talking of the bottles trying to get anyone to buy them yet as John looked towards his new friend he just moved away looking at another filled with different piles of colors that were of cloth.

“As you can see you can always find something new here…we can stay and look for awhile if you wish or we can keep looking around the streets. I know a area where you can find horses and gear for them, different type of common looking pets, Instruments and the like all near by. “

“The city has a few different taverns that one could enjoy but you get the idea.” He said as he looked towards her. He was being his normal self around her yet he knew one could wonder if it was a trick or trap. He was one of the few souls it would seem that did not have a plan or need for wanting something in return for kindness.

“The shop I run is a bit from here but we can make a trip to there as well with ease. The weather should stay nice for the most part but we may get some storms later on.”
