Timestamp: 7th of Spring, 514 AV Only a few days after joining the General Kavran of the Kuvay'Nas, he was called upon for his very first patrol duty accompanied by a veteran of the Infantry Branch, according to the duty list hung up on the board inside the Kuvay'Nas Lodge. Prakash and Drath weren't the introverted type and, to boot, they were dedicted to the Kuvay'Nas and pretty much anything they genuinely strived for, which resulted in not having much difficulty getting along with most of their comrades in arms at the Lodge, still they were far from actual friendship bonds or respect gained. But they weren't in a hurry nor of the persuasion that they needed instant, devoid of meaning, respect. They say a man can prize himself lucky if he can count his true friends in the world on more than one hand, which was exactly how both Prakash and Drath felt as well. Yet they were slightly worried as the Akalak couldn't picture any face to the name scribbled on the duty list, ordered to accompany 'the rookie'. Prakash was looking at the name intensely, as if he would be able to magically summon the man through staring at the name 'Trallik', when suddenly a shadow appeared over the board, casted by a hulking Akalak towering over Prakash, who was mumbling to himself. "Damn it!! Another babysitting shift!" To which Prakash could only ask the large Akalak if his name happened to be Trallik. Responded by a crude 'What of it?' Prakash could envision the clash between him and the self-claimed babysitter already. "I'm Prakash and in no need of a babysitter." The Akalak responded dryly but with clear agitation in his stare, the size of the other Akalak was intimidating but it took more than that to make Prakash and Drath back away. Trallik simply grunted and asked, although it was more of an order, for Prakash to grab his stuff and wait for him at the centered fireplace of the Lodge. Prakash wordlessly nodded and went over to the place where minor supplies were stashed for patrols and similar duties, there he mulled over what to take as it was his first time patrolling. Figuring he had enough with his Lakan and body as armaments, he simply grabbed some rope and placed it sideways over his shoulder and back, in case he needed to place people under arrest. After doing so he went to the fireplace to wait for Trallik. As he waited and looked around, he heard a Kuvay'Nas whisper to another, with one eye on Prakash,"That rookie's out of luck..." Which caused the agitation in Prakash to rise in temperature and get dangerously close to boiling. As he finally caught Trallik in his sight, the large Akalak gave Prakash one sideways glance and motioned him to the exit with one jerk of his head, as if Prakash was a dog. Prakash was doing his best not to let Drath take over as he was ready to give Trallik a piece of his mind already, but Drath calmed down after they left the Lodge and both Akalak kept their mouth shut for quite a while as they walked at quite a fast pace throughout Riverfall. The mutual understanding between the Akalak not to smalltalk or pretend to be chums, was definitely effective as the premonitioned clashing didn't take effect, until Prakash was halted in his tracks by a familiar voice who greeted him from behind and congratulated him on his admittance to the Kuvay'Nas. Before Prakash had the chance to thank the man for his kind words, Trallik had already snapped at both Prakash and the man that they were on duty and not at a teaparty. Prakash apologized to the man before walking around the corner with Trallik, and stopping right in front of him, facing him head-on. "Look, Trallik, I don't care if you don't like me or your socalled babysitting shift. But I won't let it slide that you disrespect me any longer." "Disrespecting you? Boy, we're doing a job, smalltalking with friends is not part of that, do you understand me?" "We're on a job indeed, so get your shyke straight and act professional. You let your personal emotions get the better of you, and are giving me a hard time simply because you don't like the job given to you. Do you understand me?" Trallik's veins on his forehead were about to pop as Prakash called the huge Kuvay'Nas unprofessional, and his fists were clenched, it was clear as day that he was ready to throw down, but so was Prakash. The 2 Akalak stared at eachother for one moment too long before swinging, as they were interrupted by a man shouting and waving his arms franticly as he ran into their direction. "Help! Help!!!" Prakash turned towards the man, but simply stood there, not knowing what to do and waiting for the man to come to him. While Trallik immediatly reacted and ran towards the man, making Prakash think he might have been in the wrong this time, as Trallik seemed alot more professional than he first gave the Akalak credit for. Soon after Trallik arrived at the shouting man, so did Prakash though, having regained his professionalism on the job. The man was clearly panicked and out of breath as he nearly collapsed on the spot, but after a short while of wheezing and breathing heavily, he was able to talk and explain what was going on. "A group of ragtag crooks invaded my master's shop and took him, my collegue and a few clients hostage. I managed to sneak out the back, but there are still at least 4 victims inside...Please help them!" |
