It was a pleasant surprise to see the little penguin accompany the foxworm Jenkins to the hot springs. Last time Adi encountered the Tempests, she'd met Vesh-who was Tydus' tavan, thankfully not his Kelvic lover-and taken a liking to his fluffy antics. The fuzzy sea bird almost certainly came from Avanthal, and as such seeing Vesh reminded her of home...and of other things she didn't care to dwell on. Unfortunately, when the thought popped into her head, it took a while to make its way out. Adi scrunched her eyes, which had taken on a gold hue, and shook her head in an attempt to distract herself. It worked, thankfully. What helped was watching Tydus interact with Vesh. It was an adorable sight, and it was nice to see him emerge from the cocky mask he projected to everyone around him.

With a sigh, Adi slipped underneath the surface of the water after the Svefra in the pool with her made bubbles and surfaced. Her eyes closed, she began humming a relaxing tune she remembered from her childhood. The water echoed it strangely, slowing and intensifying the sound. The Vantha remained submerged for almost a full chime, finding the water calming though still warm. When she broke the surface of the pool, she sunk back down until only her nose and eyes were above the water and began humming quietly. It was a form of relaxation for her.

Kel's shenanigans from a few feet over were groan-inducing, but funny to watch. Adi sat up then and leaned back against the stony wall of the pool, facing the darker Svefra and Grace as the ship captain played with his foxworm tavan. It occurred to her then that she still didn't know what kind of animal Jenkins was-she couldn't just keep thinking of him as a foxworm, or it would probably stick. "What kind of animal is he, anyway?" Adi asked, waving her left hand at Kel and his companion. Her right, still injured and showing no signs of healing soon, was underwater, supported by the weight of the liquid which was heavier than air. It was the best her wrist had felt in a while. The pain that was a constant dull throb had subsided to almost nothing, which was unfortunately a new sensation.

[Travertine Hot Springs]Tempting Tempests(Grace, Adi, Kel)

Grace was thankful for the woman's words, pushing off the bottom of the spring gently to float towards the three people. Grace's eyes widened as Kel began acting like . . . like a madman? What was wrong with him? Was he drunk or taking some sort of herb? Grace's eyebrows raised to the clouds and she looked at the woman again, questioning Kels moves. "Is bitin' the only thing I should be wary of?" Grace half-whispered, eyeing Kel again. It was somewhat amusing but a wholly freaky show. Grace turned to shake the woman's hand as she was the only one Grace had yet to get the name of.

"Grace." She said simply, everyone seemed to be more or less relaxing and doing their own thing. Grace decided she would do no different and sucked in a rather large breathe and attempting to float again. Again, Grace's feet sunk to the bottom of the water. Frustrated, Grace decided to find the place where she could stand again. The steam ran up her neck, forming little driplets of sweat along her temples. Grace let her knees bend, immersing her head in the water, she ran her hands over her bangs under the steamy liquid before coming up. She ran her hair through them again, making sure they weren't sticking up. Thankfully the heat plastered them to the crown of her head.

Grace couldn't seem to relax in the springs like she intended. Maybe it was the excitement of meeting new people, or the . . . nope, that was it. Grace's lack of socialization made her hungry to do something. Something exciting.

"What kind of animal is he, anyway?" The woman spoke to Kel, asking the Question Grace had also been wondering. She wanted to ask what the human-looking bird was too, but Grace stayed silent. A more devious pursuit on her mind. A somewhat more childish one too. Grace's scalp started to prickle as her bang's began to spring up on her forehead, like thorns standing from her skull. Grace ducked under the water again to smooth them back. As she was under she opened her eyes, the hot water didn't seem to hurt them as she thought it would, maybe her eyelids didn't give as much protection as they were meant to. The water was very clear and Grace could see the sand deep in the springs, it etched a slow wave-like pattern into the sand that followed the current. Bits of spiral looking shells lay in the sand, probably taken from the ocean, since there were no shelled creatures at the bottom of the current. Grace could see some sort of plant seemed to dwell just outside of the current, the warm water seemed to suit them. A school of tiny yellow fish darted between the vines, playing little games with each other. The scene resembled and underwater desert to her, bare but the little life that dwelled there was beautiful. Grace closed her eyes again, bringing her head above water and gulping in a breathe.

Grace filled her lungs and dove down, she wasn't the best swimmer and could barely get low enough to scare the school of fish, before she felt the pang in her chest demanding air. An object flashed in her vision as she let herself float back up. Again Grace inhaled and went down, her curiosity now pushing her to the object. Little progress was made, and Grace gave up after a few tries, thinking she looked silly anyway.

"It's pretty interesting down there," Grace tried to calm her breathing down. She wasn't used to exercising that much without breathing. "I wonder where the fish came from?" Grace thought aloud to herself, looking over at the cold ocean that crashed on the beach not far from the springs. The fish had to come from somewhere right?

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

The flask was warming in the Svefra's hand, a grim fate for the alcohol within, but he didn't care. He wanted the drink, it comforted him, excited him, balanced him. Without it, he was falling from soaring heights. With it, he sloshed about like the sea, anxieties extinguished by roaring tides and indifference. He wanted the feeling to return. He craved it, needed it. It was an addiction that he so desperately needed, for facing what was behind the mask was an impossibility, a battle he could neither talk himself out of nor win by means of deceit or trickery, as he was accustomed.

He let it fester in the depths of his consciousness instead, drowning it in the liquor that he loosened the stopper for. He raised the metal to his lips, pouring the warm rum down his throat without a care for its taste. A sip, then two were taken before he stoppered it once more, placing it upon the smooth limestone surface of the hot spring.

The effects were not immediate, but the relief was. The simple, glorious burn flowing down his throat, coursing through his esophagus reminded him of the pleasures that followed the consumption. The laugh that escaped his lips was one of exasperation as he listened to the women. Their lack of familiarity with the ocean that sustained all life was complete hilarity in his own opinion, a sarcastic tone filling his laughter just before he sank into the heated depths of the hot spring.

The laughter escaped him in flurries of bubbles as the heat and the lack of oxygen flow began to hasten the approach of his intoxication. He felt his mind numbing almost immediately, the laughter all the same, but instead of amusement rather than aggravated sarcasm. Where do the fish come from? Hahaha! The ocean, obviously. Where else do fish come from? OH, maybe from the land? A land fish! The Svefra flailed about underwater, miming the flopping about of a fish before rising to the surface, chuckling aloud.

Adi was just as ignorant, though this was more understandable. A sea otter was common enough, but for a woman from the heavy North, it made more sense to know the penguin. The Svefra laughed at her, all the same. He grinned at Grace, tilting his head slightly as he parted his lips to speak. The penguin seemed to know what was about to happen, and jumped into the water, bopping its head against the back of Tydus' before falling in with a heavy splash. Vesh flailed about frantically in the hot water, undoubtedly due to expecting cooler liquid, and hopped out almost immediately, settling down on the limestone ground before watching Tydus with a careful gaze.

The Svefra, hit in the back of the head by a penguin, stumbled forward out of shock, unable to keep his balance even in the water. He had unconsciously reached out to grab his flask, bringing the container with him as he ascended, unwillingly towards Adi and Grace, on an imminent collision course with one, the other, or both.

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

The two continued playing in the water together until Kel was distracted by Adi’s question. Both eyebrows rose in disbelief.

“Really? What is he? Jenkins a sea otter. Shyke woman, learn yeh’ animals.”

The Svefra scoffed at the woman’s ignorance. Jenkins chattered and Kel laughed rudely. “Right? Who doesn’t know that?”] Kel stopped splashing around. He enjoyed goofing off with his tavan but now he wanted to do something else. He surveyed the pools, noting the waterfall and rock ledges. One of them caught his attention.

“Aha! Jenkins! I have discovered out next venture!” Kel waded to the edge of the limestone walls of the pool and clambered out, mooning the three in the water with his naked butt. His Greytide pod tattoo on his back glimmered in the sunlight.

Jenkins swam to the side and struggled to climb out. He hopped on three legs, his hindquarter held up off the ground. Jenkins had been injured in a fight not four days prior. Kel weaved through the different pools, a limp also apparent in his stride. A large scab formed over his wounded leg from the knife stab he had received in the same incident. He seemed to ignore it as he made his way around the steam and water.

Kel came to a large outcrop jutting out from a rock wall where the boiling water shot off the edge from above. A large pool sat underneath it. The black haired Svefra looked down into the water, squinting. “What’da think Jenkins? It deep enough?” The sea otter chattered as he peered into the water. Kel nodded in agreement.
“I think you’re right, let’s just go for it and see what happens.”

The Svefra gingerly grabbed the jagged rock wall, the textured surface perfect for climbing. Kel began scaling the rock face, easing his way up to the rough surface. Hand over hand, he felt for higher places to hold on to as he climbed. Finally after a few chimes, he made it to the top of the rock. He threw both arms out above him, a grin on his face. Kel looked over the edge, down towards the pool. He was only about ten feet off the surface of the pool. He looked down at Jenkins and called down, “Don’t forget to swim out and save me if I drown.”

He braced himself and then jumped.

He whooped as the wind blew back his hair and he pin wheeled his arms, trying to keep his balance. A silly grin crossed his face as he fell through the air. He landed in the water with an explosion of water. The liquid closed over his face and the heat felt like it was suffocating him. He sank through the water and he braced himself, knowing he might smash into the ground. Kel opened his eyes and winced, feeling the searing water touch his exposed iris.

Through the clear water he spotted the limestone floor about a foot underneath him and a few bubbles floated out of his mouth as he sighed in relief. He was right, it was deep enough. Now he knew for sure that it was safe to jump.

Kel kicked and his head broke the surface. Jenkins sat perched on the edge looking at him. Kel scowled,
“You didn’t jump in to save me you dunce.” The Svefra swam arm over arm towards the pool edge and braced his hands against the rocks to push himself out. The scab that formed over the sword slash on his shoulder blade pulled and he winced. He managed to get himself over the edge and sat down beside Jenkins.

“Alright mate, what next? Think I should handstand this sucker?”

NoteI forgot to include Kel's injuries from a previous thread. I went back and edited them in. So from the start of this thread he had a limp, cut across the tops of his hands and a cut across his shoulder blade. Jenkins has a limp as well.

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

With a genuine smile, Adi took the other woman's hand and shook it briefly. "Adi. Adi Skyglow if you want to get technical, but Adi's my given name. It's nice to meet you, Grace." She leaned her head back, closed her eyes-violet now, nothing special-and resumed her humming.

This went on for the tick it took Kel to answer her.

Adi was so not in the mood for Kel's usual form of intense sass. Today, she was here to relax, not to repeat the fifth. She stood up in a hurry, not bothering to fix the linen wrappings bound around her chest, which were starting to sag from the weight of the water.io

"So you expect me to know everything about animals I've never seen before? Kel, I've lived in Avanthal all my life, and my family's Arvinta was nowhere near the ocean. That isn't my fault. You want to judge me for it? Go right ahead."

Her words were a challenge, daring him to continue giving her a hard time over circumstances genuinely out of her control. Adi's question was an honest one-she hadn't known what kind of animal Jenkins the sea foxwormotter was until a tick ago. Kel could go right ahead and scoff at her for wanting to acquire new knowledge, but it was him who would suffer in the end, and the Vantha was determined to make sure of that. Adi's eyes showed her determination with their violent red color. Resting at her sides were her hands, with both fists clenched. This caused her right wrist to start throbbing in protest again and brought out a wince from the young woman. Despite an overwhelming urge to get back in the water and relax, she stood her ground and glared at Kel. When it became obvious he was going to get out of the water fully naked, she immediately turned and sat down next to Grace, facing Tydus.

"I expected better from you after..." Her voice trailed off, and she raised her hand and wiggled it in midair in lieu of actually saying what they'd done. There was no need to get graphic.

But...he was a Svefra, a womanizer by nature. They didn't care about anyone but themselves and their pods. Why did she expect something he clearly wasn't going to give her? The answer came to her the moment after that question crossed her mind.

Because you were drunk and he was your first. He doesn't give a shyke about you, Adi! Tydus has been that way for a long time, and he won't just change for you.

Adi took a moment to fix her chest wraps, not planning on giving anyone a full view of her breasts today. She felt a headache coming on.

And then Vesh hit Tydus in the back of his head.

The Vantha cackled at Ty's expense-it wasn't every day a penguin hit your ex-lover in the head and then fell into a pool of hot water. Unless the penguin was Vesh and the ex-lover was Tydus Tempest. In that case, it was slightly more common.

Her first instinct was to help him, and her second was to let him fall. This resulted in her deciding to shove him towards the other wall, naturally reaching out both of her hands. A scream of pain erupted from her mouth as she put a great deal of her weight into the shove, which was not a good idea when you had a broken wrist. The pain coursing through her arm travelled through her, coloring her eyes a deep gold and sending her, preoccupied as she was, to land on the natural limestone bench she'd been sitting on.

When she was planted on the bench, dizzily so, a thought struck her.

...but what if I changed him?

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

Postby Grace Lechar on March 23rd, 2014, 2:34 am

Grace had been eyeing Kel out of the corner of her eye, thinking him somewhat mad as he acted like a child in the water. Grace wanted to join him splashing around and yelling at that thing, what was it called? An otter. But she didn't know the man and as usual she would just silently watch. Kel abruptly pulled himself out of the water, giving Grace another unwanted view of the man's bum. Grace's eyebrows shot up and she turned back, less used to the lack of clothes than the rest seemed to be.

Adi was defending herself against Kel, and Grace agreed. How were they really supposed to know what these things were? Grace rarely got out of the fortress in Syliras, and when she did it was to go inland instead of out, limiting her knowledge of the Suvan and it's creatures. Still, the way Kel answered Adi so obviously, made Grace feel stupid. Hot water splattered her face and Grace flinched, holding up a hand to block her eyes. Ty was flopping around in the water in a similar mad sense as Kel. Grace smiled, thinking the boys actions fun and wanted to join in, splashing and wrestling. But Grace withheld, her toes squishing into the sand as she back up closer to Adi. She chuckled, watching the two full grown men play like toddlers. "This normal for them?"

A wave washed over her head, answering her question as Kel's head popped above the water and he continued to talk to the otter in his strange choppy language. Grace glanced back at Adi, and amused grin on her face. The woman seemed so used to this behavior, but it was exciting to Grace who was used to playing with the horses or her dog. Grace turned to Tydus to see what his reaction on this was. Something was off with him though. His face seemed more relaxed and calm than a few minutes ago. She watched him take a swig out of a bottle and it all added up to her.

But who the petch got drunk in the middle of day? A haughty smirk settled across Tydus' face and he opened his mouth to speak. Grace expected sharp words, her temper already flaring in anticipation, but was cut off by a small squeak. The fat bird dove into the water, reacted very similar to how Jeno did at the heat that it met. Tydus couldn't, or didn't, catch himself and came plummeting onto Adi and her. Grace's hands shot out. One catching the man in the neck and the other slipping against his chest. The unsalty warm water felt slimy in between their skin. Grace's foot swung out not hitting him as a surge of energy raced through her arms, pushing the man off of her.

Adi settled back into her position, but Grace was quick to land her palm on Tydus' head. The unwarranted violence was playful for Grace. She figured she couldn't hurt him too bad, but she did handle thousand pound horses daily, so Grace wasn't exactly week. A playful grin settled on her face as she eyed Tydus, daring him to make a move back.

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

Postby Tydus Tempest on March 23rd, 2014, 4:40 am

Image
Pushed back, the Tempest scion struggled to gather balance, colliding into cylindrical, limestone surface of the spring's wall as Adi's scream woke Tydus up to the world. Suddenly, his environment had stopped spinning to such an extent, his ears just able to pick off the pitter patter of penguin steps as it moved out of the reach of the steam that wafted from the hot springs.

Tydus turned around to look to the penguin, his attention diverted from that of the women, one who looked about ready to fight him, the other in pain and perhaps looking at the Tempest with a strange expression. The Tempest placed his arms upon the limestone rim of the 'bowl' they were in, concern layering his features as he looked to Vesh.

The penguin had since fallen over, almost unable to rise from the complications that he himself had caused. Vesh... why did you...

The penguin cared far more for Tydus than he should, far more about him than even Tydus himself did. Than Callipsia, than Kel, than anyone. It was a love that Tydus shared with the penguin, but with no ability to help the bird, he had no clue what to do. He looked to Vesh, encouraging the penguin with softly spoken words in Fratava, just loud enough for the two women but hear, but Kel himself, the only one who, at least in Tydus' mind, was able to understand Fratava, would not hear the words,

"Vesh... you need to go... Dive into the ocean! Anything that can help cool you down... I know... you're struggling. You've been struggling for a while. I'll catch you later, okay?"

The Svefra brushed the penguin's feathers with his left hand, feeling the coat's thinned quality. The penguin was struggling to adapt, and it showed by the rather unhealthy look in its eye, the sleeping patterns it held. Tydus needed to seek out help for him.

The Tempest scion allowed a sigh to escape his lips as the penguin heeded his plea, nuzzling into the Svefra's hand once before waddling out of reach of the springs' poisonous (to Vesh) steam wisps. The penguin accelerated before moving down the hill and towards the ocean in an attempt to regulate its body temperature.

A sigh flowed from the Svefra's lips as he turned, obscuring his facial expression with his hands before allowing himself to sink into the water, seeking out the heat so it could overwhelm his mind of his concerns, his fears that had begun to creep into his mind in association with his penguin tavan. He remembered how the other, Vesh's mother had fared, dying prematurely from the inability to adapt to survive. Vesh had managed well enough for now, but complications were imminent, it seemed.

A frown layered the Svefra's lips underwater, though it dissipated before he rose, peeking his head out of the hot water. A false, heart laugh escaping his lips as he took an unnecessary revenge on Grace. He moved underwater again, maneuvering himself close to the woman and pulling her leg underwater with the intention of unbalancing her. He debated doing the same to Adi, but the woman was injured as is.

After a moment, the Tempest decided to rise to the surface, his face red from breathlessness and the heat of the water, gasping for air yet laughing again, though his eyes told a different story.

The Svefra stretched lazily on the warm limestone ground, gently kicking his uninjured leg in the water. It was starting to stiffen up from his inability to sit still. He knew he had to take it easier or it wasn’t going to heal as quickly as it could. But he never let an injury keep him from doing what he wanted. All it did was slow him down.

Kel pushed himself to his feet and eyed the ten foot rock wall again. His leg wasn’t doing him any favors but he’d be petched if he didn’t try and jump from the outcrop again. He cracked his neck and placed one hand in large crevice and raised the other up towards a small rock jutting from the wall. Kel lifted his good leg and pushed off of the ground, clinging to the wall.

He slowly made the climb to the ledge, putting one hand in front of the other, body pressed close to the rough formation. It was slick with water residue from the waterfall and he was barely able to maintain a good grip. He gritted his teeth and continued to climb higher. Kel looked up and saw that the small ledge was only a little bit higher; he had less than a foot to climb. He lifted his hand and gripped a crevice above him.

But suddenly his hand slipped and he lost his footing. He smashed into the rough rock wall and winced, feeling the stone scrap his chest and legs. Kel looked down as he dangled above the ground. He knew if he fell it would seriously injury his already wounded leg. He gritted his teeth and threw his arm up trying to catch a hold of any surface his fingers could find purchase on. He groped around blindly, feeling the only hand holding him in place slowly starting to slip.

His fingers found a rock and he gripped it tightly. He sighed in relief, feeling the weight lift off his tiring arm and he got a better grip. Kel quickly climbed the rest of the way to the ledge and rested back against the wall, breathing deeply.

Kel looked out from his perch, seeing Jenkins lying quietly beside the water, the three people lounging in another pool a little ways off and the ocean waves crashing against the beach down the path. Heat rose off the water and he felt his body begin to overheat even from high up. He gave himself a few minutes to rest before standing up and taking a step towards the edge.

He took a deep breath, stilling his mind. Kel slowly crouched and rested both hands flat against the rock. He flexed the muscles in his arms, shoulders and chest as he leaned forward, teetering slightly. He lifted his legs off the ground, eyes drilling into the rock wall as he slowly turned upside down, focusing on his form as his muscle memory began to kick in from his previous acrobatic exercises. He slowly extended his legs straight up into the air, feeling the rock ledge biting into his hands as he found his equilibrium.

He balanced there for about five ticks before he exhaled and shoved up and away from the ledge. His face and chest just barely missed scraping the outcrop as he plummeted towards the water, head first but he didn’t escape completely unscathed.

He forgot to point his feet and his big toe smashed into the rock as he fell towards the water. He clasped his hands over his head in a stream line and hit the water in a dive. The boiling water hit in the face and he grimaced. The ground rushed up to meet him and his eyes widened as he realized he was going to crash into it. He jerked his hands up, halting the dive and floated just above the rock bed, bubbles swirling madly.

The black haired Svefra floated there a moment before planting his feet and pushing off towards the sky. His head broke the surface and he gasped for air. Pain radiated up his smashed toe and he winced as he kicked towards the pool edge. Kel pulled himself out and examined his foot. The toenail was cracked and looked like it would fall off. The skin around it was slowly starting to change color, a bruise already starting to form.

Kel looked at Jenkins,
“Totally worth it.” He grunted as he pushed himself to his feet and hobbled over to the other pool where Adi, Grace and Tydus lounged. He rested both hands on his waist, grinning at the three.

“Yeh’ all be seein’ that?” He jerked his head over towards the other pool where he had jumped from the rock wall. “Totally just handstanded from that there rock inna’ water, not bad, eh?” He looked at them smugly. “Anyone wanna be tryin’ teh’ beat that?”

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

Postby Adi Skyglow on March 29th, 2014, 2:06 am

Image

Had Adi been able to see in Tydus' mind the past few minutes, she would have been convinced that her clarity of mind had fled her head and settled in his. It followed that his mental state transferred to her, as the Vantha was dizzy and her world blurry. Everything around her spun-save for her hand, which throbbed at the pace of her heart buried deep in her chest with more pain. The weight of the water around her crushed her chest, which returned the favor to her lungs.

She struggled to the surface, panting heavily. It took her a full chime to remember how to breathe properly.

Eyes bright gold-a rare color for Adi, whose feelings were usually moderated and restricted to avoid outside detection-to signify the immense amount of pain she was in. There was nothing else in her world besides water, heat, and pain.

A sound came from Ty's mouth, which barely registered in her mind. She couldn't understand the language he spoke in. His words didn't concern the young Vantha, dazed as she was. Piercing, pain-tinged golden eyes wandered from rock to rock in the pool until they settled above her on the cliff, where a small figure was standing on the rocky edge. It didn't quite concern her, though she felt a vague tingle of worry for the person.

When the person-oh, that's just...Kel?-jumped, she felt much the same. Adi didn't think much of his cliff jump, which seemed absolutely normal. Why wouldn't anyone jump off a cliff? Quite a way to have fun.

The next few chimes blurred together, nothing distinguishing one from another. It was the sound of Kel's voice that interrupted her reverie, asking if she'd care to try. Adi had absolutely no interest in cliff diving herself, seeing as how she was currently somewhat incapitated. In a feeble response, the woman raised her uninjured hand and waved it-or at least she thought she did. Really, her hand barely twitched.

Maybe she could rest a few minutes. Just...shut her eyes...

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

It looked like Tydus was not going to react, as he murmured in that strange language to the strange animal. Grace began to wonder if she was the only human in the springs. Never before had she been the minority. Though the people around her looked human enough, something was different. The woman's eyes, who Grace had never paid much attention to before, we're never the same. They tended to be a soft lilac, which was odd in itself until they turned red. When Adi yelled at Kel, a bright crimson shone through the woman's eyes. Adi's hair was subtlety different as well. At first Grace simply assumed she dyed her hair. But for some reason that didn't seem to be the case. Adi resembled a delicate piece of stains glass. Her pale skin and multicolored eyes. And yet the rest of her physical features seemed human enough.

The boys were a whole other ordeal. Grace couldn't quite place what about them tipped her off. Maybe it was their strange language or their behavior. But what really confused Grace was how they seemed to interact with the animals. The strange white and black creature that attacked Tydus one second, listening to his odd language the next. The otter, when carried and slung around by Kel, showed no signs of aggression. Now these beasts that the men played with weren't familiar to Grace, but she had handled her fair share of animals and any animal should have attacked them by now. But Kel continued to choke out the choppy words to the otter and he seemed to listen. Other than their strange relations with their strange animals and their strange language Grace couldn't really place her finger on what made her believe they were different. Except the fact that they were truly perplexing men she had no evidence to suggest they weren't as human as she.

Grace mentally shrugged it off, but she was going to ask Adi. She turned on her toes, not having a very steady hold on the sandy rock floor, and pulled the water towards her torso to aid her weighted walk towards the shallower end. Moving in water had never been very easy or balletic for Grace.

A shriek flew from her lips as her body was dragged under the boiling water. Her nostrils and mouth filled with the scalding liquid, cutting her scream short. Panic shot through her limbs as something let go of her ankle, making her aware of what pulled her under. Grace was not a very good swimmer to begin with, so with panic and lack of air set in she flailed around under the veil of the water. Her left shoulder crashed into the smooth floor, giving Grace a better sense of direction as well as a sharp pain in reminder to be careful. She curled, the movement spinning her in an upwards position. Grace slammed her feet into the ground in an attempt to get up. As her head broke the surface Grace spluttered out the water, torn between breathing and getting the liquid out of her sinuses. She coughed, finally able to take a full breathe and ran her hand over her bangs to get them out of her eyes. Grace wasted no time turning on Tydus.

"You little petching ass!" She yelled through her grin, facing Tydus' direction. Her giggles where interupted by a few coughs. She recovered quickly, hoping all the water was out of her as Grace pushed her feet off the bottom of the spring, propelling her towards the man, intending to push his head under the water.
